CURRENT AFFAIRS ON THE MIDLAND (1980)
First of all, my apologies for some of my previous posts in which the screencaps had the wrong aspect ratio. This was because of a forced aspect ratio setting on VLC. I've corrected that now and it won't happen again! ;) Anyway, onto the main feature...
Current Affairs on the Midland is an absorbing report on the progress of the Bedford/St Pancras suburban electrification scheme. Riveting stuff, I think you'll agree!...

ROBBIE (1979)
Here's a classic extended public information film that I saw in school a few times back in the day...
Peter Purves introduces this short story about the dangers of playing on railway tracks (Keith "Cheggers" Chegwin introduced the 1986 redux).
The plot: Young Robbie, a keen footballer and a railway enthusiast, is persuaded by his big brother to go through a hole in a railway fence on to the track for some reason. His laces become caught on the tracks and he has an accident so serious that he will never play football again.
On IMDb this is listed under "Horror" - but I think "Drama" is more appropriate. But prepared for the shocking ending!
