Winton July 2010 Drift
Saturday 31st July 2010 at Winton Motor Raceway - Rain, Sun, Rain, Sun. Was a weird old day, some great driving and some fun times! My father's little xr200 SONY HD 'handycam' seems to be way clearer than my VX2100 prosumer camera! The heads are probably very dirty on it which doesn't help though! Too much Winton smoke and dust! If you are paying attention you can probably see the difference between all 3 cameras that were used This will be my last Vicdrift video for a while, I have a back log of other clips I need to put together and was getting a bit burnt out filming the same thing all the time. Join the vicdrift VIMEO channel for all the vids. vimeo.com HANDs Productions has being doing the videos since July and will also do the last clip for 2010 in December. They are doing a great job, so show them support! vimeo.com Stay tuned, I will have some other random Wakeboarding, Dirt Bikes, Snowboarding, Drift road trips and various other shenanigans that taking up over about 50 mini DV tapes worth, plus some old VHS footage that some might enjoy! Thanks for watching!

andrew winton playing his best acoustic guitar solo
ellisguitars.com www.andrewwinton.com "The first thing you should know about Andrew Winton is that he's a seriously good guitarist... In company with some of Australia's finest singer-songwriters, most notably Jeff Lang, Winton uses a blues base for many of his creations, slipping into jazz grooves, even gospel mode, here and there." - Rhythms Magazine Award winning musician Andrew is an independent solo artist based in Perth, Western Australia. He combines acoustic guitar, lap slide, dobro and seven-string lap guitar/bass (the Wintonbeast), with hollers and stomps to provide an engaging and authentic performance. He plays original music with blues, roots, folk, gospel & jazz influences. Andrew's sound has been likened to a cross between Ben Harper, Sting, Kelly-Joe Phelps and Harry Manx. His performances are driven by infectious rhythms, stunning slide, bluesy vocals, quirky lyrics and storytelling.

Winton Marsalis - Carnival of Venice
As controversial as he is popular, Wynton Learson Marsalis is one of the most prominent jazz musicians of the modern era and is also a well-known instrumentalist in classical music. Currently the Musical Director of Jazz at Lincoln Center Wynton Marsalis has received many awards for his musical proficiency. These awards run the gambit of Grammys to a controversial awarding of the Pulitzer Prize for Music for his three and half hour jazz oratorio CD box set Blood on the Fields, the first jazz album to win this award. Born in a musically oriented family in the New Orleans jazz scene at a young age Wynton was exposed to many legendary jazz musicians. Some of these musicians were Al Hirt, who gave Wynton his first trumpet when he was 6 years of age and Danny Barker, a legendary jazz banjoist who lead the Fairview Baptist Church band which Wynton was playing in when he was eight. Wynton was very active musically during high school and was a member in many New Orleans musical organizations such as the NO symphony brass quintet, the NO community concert band, NO youth orchestra, NO symphony and a popular local funk band called the Creators. In 1978 he had a two-year stay at the Juilliard School of Music before joining the Jazz Messengers to study under master drummer and bandleader, Art Blakey. Not long after that he toured with the Herbie Hancock quartet before forming his own band. After many concerts and workshops Wynton rekindled widespread interest in an art form that had ...

The Winton Train
4th September 2009 Liverpool Sreet Station, London Sir Nicholas Winton, 100, was at London's Liverpool Street station to welcome passengers at the end of their steam train journey from Prague. It marks the 70th anniversary of trains organised by Sir Nicholas that carried 669 mostly Jewish children to the UK. Twenty-two of the original evacuees took part in the anniversary journey. In a speech to several hundred people gathered at the station, Sir Nicholas told the former evacuees: "It's wonderful to see you all after 70 years. Don't leave it quite so long until we meet here again." Sir Nicholas, from Maidenhead, Berkshire, described the scenes at the arrival of the series of eight trains that journeyed to Britain between March and August 1939.
