Kent /ˈkɛnt/ is a county in South East England and one of the home counties. It borders Greater London to the north west, Surrey to the west, East Sussex to the south west, and across the Thames Estuary is the county of Essex. The county town is Maidstone.
Canterbury Cathedral in Kent has been the seat of the Archbishop of Canterbury, leader of the Church of England, since the conversion of England to Christianity by Saint Augustine in the 6th century.
Between London and the Strait of Dover, which separates it from mainland Europe, Kent has seen both diplomacy and conflict, ranging from the Leeds Castle peace talks of 1978 and 2004 to the Battle of Britain in World War II.
England relied on the county's ports to provide warships through much of its history; the Cinque Ports in the 12th–14th centuries and Chatham Dockyard in the 16th–20th centuries were of particular importance. France can be seen clearly in fine weather from Folkestone and the White Cliffs of Dover. Hills in the form of the North Downs and the Greensand Ridge span the length of the county and in the series of valleys in between and to the south are most of the county's 26 castles.

Fort Kent is a town in Aroostook County, Maine, United States. The population was 4,097 in the 2010 census. Fort Kent is home to an Olympic biathlete training center, an annual CAN-AM dogsled race, and the Fort Kent Blockhouse, built in reaction to the Aroostook War and in modern times designated a national historic site. Principal industries include agriculture (particularly potatoes and forestry) and textiles. Fort Kent is the northern terminus of U.S. 1 and the ending point of the Northern Forest Canoe Trail. Fort Kent signed a lease agreement with the Fish River Flying Club on 8 July 2011 to repair, maintain, and operate the local municipal airport, which had been closed since the 1980s.
Fort Kent was erected in the summer of 1839 as an American border outpost during the undeclared Aroostook War. The blockhouse, the first structure built in what is present-day city of Fort Kent, was named after then-governor of Maine Edward Kent. The Saint John River was a log driving route from upstream forests to downstream sawmills and paper mills until the Bangor and Aroostook Railroad and trucks began transporting pulpwood.
Fortifications are military constructions or buildings designed for the defense of territories in warfare, and also used to solidify rule in a region during peace time. Humans have constructed defensive works for many thousands of years, in a variety of increasingly complex designs. The term is derived from the Latin fortis ("strong") and facere ("to make").
From very early history to modern times, walls have been a necessity for cities to survive in an ever changing world of invasion and conquest. Some settlements in the Indus Valley Civilization were the first small cities to be fortified. In ancient Greece, large stone walls had been built in Mycenaean Greece, such as the ancient site of Mycenae (famous for the huge stone blocks of its 'cyclopean' walls). A Greek Phrourion was a fortified collection of buildings used as a military garrison, and is the equivalent of the Roman castellum or English fortress. These construction mainly served the purpose of a watch tower, to guard certain roads, passes, and lands that might threaten the kingdom. Though smaller than a real fortress, they acted as a border guard rather than a real strongpoint to watch and maintain the border.
Maine (i/ˈmeɪn/; French: État du Maine) is a state in New England, in the United States. Maine is the 39th most extensive and the 42nd most populous of the 50 U.S. states. It is bordered by New Hampshire to the west, the Atlantic Ocean to the east, and the Canadian provinces of New Brunswick and Quebec to the east and north, respectively. Maine is the northernmost state in the contiguous United States east of the Great Lakes. It is known for its jagged, rocky coastline; low, rolling mountains; heavily forested interior, and picturesque waterways; and also its seafood cuisine, especially lobster and clams. In spite of its maritime position, it has a continental climate even in coastal areas such as its largest city, Portland. The state capital is Augusta with a population of 19,136 (2010), making it the third least-populous state capital (after Montpelier, Vermont and Pierre, South Dakota) in the nation.
For thousands of years, indigenous peoples were the only inhabitants of the territory that is now Maine. At the time of European encounter, several Algonquian-speaking peoples inhabited the area. The first European settlement in Maine was by the French in 1604 on Saint Croix Island, by Pierre Dugua, Sieur de Mons. The first English settlement in Maine, the short-lived Popham Colony, was established by the Plymouth Company in 1607. A number of English settlements were established along the coast of Maine in the 1620s, although the rugged climate, deprivations, and conflict with the local peoples caused many to fail over the years.

To book your session - no results, no fee - please call Ivan on 07932 22 00 00 or email me ivan@tappingguru.com This weekend, I spent time with Stephen. I was very nervous as I had not worked with anyone with such debilitation from a serious jolt to the system. Below is Steve's sister Marie's account of how his stroke occurred. There are a couple of gaps in the video record due to camera failure, but I think you will get most of what happened. Marie: "On the 31st January 2011 Stephen had a stroke whilst driving his car. He was driving through a small village called Ainsford, Kent at the time and it overcame him although he managed to pull the car to one side and parked next to a house on double yellow lines. He was not discovered for some two hours or more as it happened around 10.15...
http://northwestfront.org/ The Butler Plan consists of four broad aspects or phases involving the creation, the buildup, and the operation of the Northwest Front. These phases are not nailed to any given time frame; so much as they entail a specific kind of activity and an agenda of goals or benchmarks to be achieved. All four phases will be simultaneously ongoing in the various Party units around the Homeland, and at any given time the NF will be involved with issues relating to any or all of these phases. There will be a lot of overlap. Phase One: Relocation of the better elements of the existing racially conscious White community to the Homeland. This will be an ongoing project from this point on, and will continue even after political independence is achieved. It will be the primary f...

Located in Eastern Africa, Kenya lies astride the equator and shares its borders with Tanzania and Uganda. The country boasts a warm humid climate with diverse ecosystems, from snow-capped mountains, semi-arid desert regions and rainforests, to acacia-studded savannah, flamingo lakes, white palm-fringed ocean beaches and coral reefs. How about this for the ultimate sundowner? We heard about it from two guests, recently returned from Kenya's Mara North Conservancy. Their game drive ended on an isolated hill with a poetry-inducing 360-degree panorama. As the setting sun stained the vast wilderness blood red, their guide handed them Masai blankets, traditional weapons and an iced G&T; with freshly cut lime. For a perfect crescendo, they spotted a huge leopard as they drove back to camp, foll...
What would you do if your friend were in an avalanche? Would you be prepared to take control and get them to safety? These are the questions that TGR seeks to answer during its annual International Pro Riders Workshop (IPRW). This year the event was held at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and conducted by TGR lead guide Kent Scheler and his team along with Exum Guides Zahan Billimoria and Micah Rush. The athletes also learned about a new technology from Avatech. Avatech is integrating technology into snow safety and has developed a revolutionary probe that can map layers in the snowpack. This data is then uploaded to their correspondin...
