WLNE-TV is the ABC-affiliated television station for Rhode Island and the South Coast of Massachusetts. It is licensed to New Bedford, Massachusetts, but is headquartered in and operates from studios at 10 Orms Street in downtown Providence, Rhode Island. It is one of two major Rhode Island stations (the other being CW affiliate WLWC) licensed to the Massachusetts side of the market. WLNE broadcasts a high definition digital signal on UHF channel 49 from a transmitter in Rehoboth, Massachusetts,

WLNE is owned by Bronxville, New York-based Citadel Communications, who acquired the station in 2011 as a result of the bankruptcy of its previous owners, Global Broadcasting. Citadel Communications is unrelated to former radio giant Citadel Broadcasting, which owned several stations in the Providence market, including 630 WPRO.

The station began broadcasting on January 1, 1963 as WTEV from studios on 430 County Street in New Bedford. It operated an analog signal on VHF channel 6 from a transmitter in Tiverton.

Jamie Davis (born 18 April 1981) is an English actor. He is known for playing Harley Lawson in Footballers' Wives and its spin-off, Footballers' Wives: Extra Time, Leon Taylor in Hex and Alex Partridge in "Candy Cabs".

Davis was born and brought up in Pontefract, West Yorkshire, where he attended Carleton High School. He used to play semi-professional football, and is a self-described supporter of Liverpool F.C.. He lives with his wife in Primrose Hill, North London.

Davis started his acting career at the age of 16, in a production of Kes at the West Yorkshire Playhouse in Leeds. His first professional acting role was as a footballer in Trevor's World of Sport.

Davis auditioned for and won the role of Harley Lawson in Footballers' Wives during his third year at drama school. He portrayed Harley for the whole of the third and fourth series of Footballers' Wives and in two episodes of its spin-off, Footballers’ Wives: Extra Time.

Steve Cascione (nicknamed Cash) was born in Providence, Rhode Island on November 12, 1954. After graduating from Classical High School in Providence, Cascione attended the University of Rhode Island where he graduated in 1977 with a BA degree in Geography and Meteorology. Cascione attended MIT, where he took graduate courses in weather forecasting. In 1978 he went on to become a forecast meteorologist for AccuWeather in State College, Pennsylvania. In 1980, Cascione returned to Rhode Island, worked at WLNE-TV ABC6, and created a weather consulting business called Ocean State Weather. During his first stint at WLNE, he hosted the self-titled cooking segment Steve's Cooking Up a Storm.

After 22 years at WLNE, Cascione left to begin employment at WPRI-TV12, where he served for 5 years as meteorologist for the station's weekday morning and Noon newscasts, later their weekend morning newscasts. He received the Silver Circle Award from the National Television Academy's Boston/New England Chapter in 2006.
