"Innocent Man (Misunderstood)" is a song by American hip hop recording artist Cassidy. It was officially released on December 22, 2007 and serves as the second single from his third studio album, B.A.R.S. The Barry Adrian Reese Story (2007). The song, which was produced by Cassidy's longtime mentor and frequent collaborator Swizz Beatz, features vocals from English R&B singer Mark Morrison, sampling his song "Innocent Man".

"Innocent" is a single by British musician Mike Oldfield, released in 1989. It is from the album Earth Moving and features vocals from Anita Hegerland.

Inspiration

According to an interview Mike Oldfield and Anita Hegerland gave in the TV-program Good Morning Britain, the song was inspired by their young daughter Greta; who also appears in the music video. In the program the Oldfield and Hegerland gave an acoustic version of the song, Hegerland singing and Oldfield playing the guitar.

The music video features an Atari ST computer, a Korg M1 synthesiser and a Fender Stratocaster guitar and is available on the Elements – The Best of Mike Oldfield video. There is also a second part animated part live action video in existence.

Innocent (Giesel)

Innokenty Gizel (c. 1600 - November 18, 1683) was a Prussian-born historian, writer, political and ecclesiastic figure, who had adopted Orthodox Christianity and made a substantial contribution to Russian and Ukrainian culture.

Innokentiy Gizel was a rector of the Kievan Theological School. In 1656, he was appointed archmandrite of the Kiev Pechersk Lavra. Innokentiy Gizel is known to have supported the unification of Ukraine and Russia and autonomy of the Kiev clergy, simultaneously. Innokentiy Gizel is generally credited for writing the Synopsis in 1674, but some researchers deny his authorship.

Allegedly written in response to Kanye West's interruption of her acceptance speech at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, Swift performed the song at the following year's ceremony as a means of putting the controversy behind them. "Innocent" is a soft rock and country folk-inspired ballad with a duration of five minutes and two seconds. The song features sparse instrumentation to reflect the simplicity of innocence, while lyrically it speaks about someone who has lost their way in life but who is "still an innocent". With lyrics such as "time turns flames to embers / You'll have new Septembers" and "Today is never too late to be brand new," the song also conveys a message of forgiveness and redemption, describing how anyone can rise above and move past a difficult time in their life.

Man (Middle-earth)

In J. R. R. Tolkien's Middle-earth books, such as The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, the terms Man and Men refer to humankind – in contrast to Elves, Dwarves, Orcs and other humanoid races – and does not denote gender.

The Elves call the race of Men Atani in Quenya, literally meaning "Second People" (the Elves being the First), but also Hildor (Followers), Apanónar (After-born), and Fírimar or Firyar (Mortals). Less charitably they were called Engwar (The Sickly), owing to their susceptibility to disease and old age, and their generally unlovely appearance in the Elves' eyes. The name Atani becomes Edain in Sindarin, but this term is later applied only to those tribes of Men who are friendly to the Elves. Other names appear in Sindarin as Aphadrim, Eboennin, and Firebrim or Firiath.

Origins

The race of Men is the second race of beings created by the One God, Ilúvatar. Because they awoke at the start of the Years of the Sun, while the Elves awoke at the start of the First Age during the Years of the Trees, they are called the Afterborn by the Elves.
