TRUTalk: Sow 2 : Target Boycott ("Target Ain't People")
Last weekend a group of activists gave a public demonstration in a Minnesota Target store (The Company's home state) in response to Target contributing 150000$ to Ultra-Conservative MN Republican Tom Emmer, who is a racist and bigot. While Target at first defended the donation, Target CEO Greg Steinhafel later apologized about it's intent for the donation (newsoxy.com/politics/target-apologizes-political-donation-14137.html) siting that it was intended to support Emmer's economic issues, such as job creation, and not his social issues, such as his hatred of homosexuals and non-whites. The video for the MoveOn.org Boycott demonstration is here: youtube.com/watch?v=9FhMMmqzbD8 Here is my general response to the matter.

Variety: Jack Benny, Claudette Colbert, Edward Arnold, Basil Rathbone, Ernst Lubitsch Jezebel: Jean Arthur, Walter Pidgeon, Jeffrey Lynn, Mary Nash The Great Man Votes: John Barrymore, Thomas Mitchell, Virginia Weidler Claudette Colbert (September 13, 1903 -- July 30, 1996) was a French-born American actress of stage and film. Raised in New York City, Colbert began her career in Broadway productions during the 1920s, progressing to film with the advent of talking pictures. She established a successful film career with Paramount Pictures, and is recognized as one of the leading female exponents of screwball comedy. Colbert was the highest paid actress in American cinema during late 1930s, and later became a freelance performer. She won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her comedic performance in It Happened One Night (1934), and also received Academy Award nominations for her dramatic roles in Private Worlds (1935) and Since You Went Away (1944). Colbert's film career declined in the 1950s, and she retired from film in 1961. She returned to the theater, with the occasional brief appearance on television. Her career spanned more than six decades. Late in life she moved to Barbados, where she died at the age of 92, following a series of strokes. Colbert received theatre awards from the Sarah Siddons Society, a lifetime-achievement award at the Kennedy Center Honors, and, in 1999, the American Film Institute placed her at number twelve on their "AFI's 100 Years... 100 ...

DFL Candidates Vie To Replace Sen. Larry Pogemiller
Northeast Minneapolis has been represented by the same state senator for nearly 30 years. That will change next year because Senator Larry Pogemiller has been appointed to be Minnesota's Education Director. The seat is considered a "safe" one for the DFL, meaning the winner of the December 6th DFL primary is likely to win the special election in January. The five candidates running in the DFL primary answer questions and address the public. The event happened at the Sheridan Magnet School in Minneapolis. Candidates are: Kari Dziedzic, Jacob Frey, Mohamud Noor, Paul Ostrow and Peter Wagenius

Laura Dana Andrews, Gene Tierney, Clifton Webb Twelve O'Clock High Gregory Peck, Ward Bond, Hugh Marlowe, Millard Mitchell, Reed Hadley, John Kellogg Wardell Edwin "Ward" Bond (April 9, 1903 -- November 5, 1960)[1] was an American film actor whose rugged appearance and easygoing charm were featured in over 200 movies and the television series Wagon Train. Bond made his screen debut in Salute, and thereafter played over 200 supporting roles, rarely playing the lead in a theatrical release but starring in the television series Wagon Train from 1957 until his death in 1960. He was frequently typecast as a friendly policeman or as a brutal thug. He had a long-time working relationship with directors John Ford and Frank Capra, performing in such films as The Searchers, Drums Along the Mohawk, The Quiet Man, and Fort Apache for Ford, with whom he made 25 films, and It Happened One Night and It's a Wonderful Life for Capra. Among his other well-known films were Bringing Up Baby (1938), Gone with the Wind (1939), The Maltese Falcon (1941), Sergeant York (1941), They Were Expendable (1945), Joan of Arc (1948), in which he was atypically cast as Captain La Hire, Rio Bravo (1959), and Raoul Walsh's 1930 widescreen wagon train epic The Big Trail, which also featured John Wayne's first leading role. Bond later starred in the popular NBC western television series Wagon Train from 1957 until his death. Wagon Train was inspired by the 1950 film Wagon Master, in which Bond also appeared ...

Bushman, David Niven Ginger Rogers (born Virginia Katherine McMath; July 16, 1911 -- April 25, 1995) was an American actress, dancer, and singer who appeared in film, and on stage, radio, and television throughout much of the 20th century. During her long career, she made a total of 73 films, and was best known as Fred Astaire's romantic interest and dancing partner in a series of ten Hollywood musical films that revolutionized the genre. She achieved great success on her own in a variety of film roles and won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in Kitty Foyle (1940). She ranks #14 on the AFI's 100 Years...100 Stars list of actress screen legends. Rogers' first movie roles were in a trio of short films made in 1929—Night in the Dormitory, A Day of a Man of Affairs, and Campus Sweethearts. Rogers would soon get herself out of the Paramount contract—under which she had made five feature films at Astoria Studios in Astoria, Queens—and move with her mother to Hollywood. When she got to California, she signed a three-picture deal with Pathé Exchange. She made feature films for Warner Bros., Monogram, and Fox in 1932 and was named one of fifteen "WAMPAS Baby Stars". She then made a significant breakthrough as "Anytime Annie" in the Warner Brothers film 42nd Street (1933). She went on ...

Screen Guild Theater: Bachelor Mother / Ball of Fire / Mr. and Mrs. Smith
Bachelor Mother: Fred MacMurray, Ann Sothern, Charles Coburn Ball of Fire: Paulette Goddard, Kay Kyser, Richard Haydn Mr. and Mrs. Smith: Joan Bennett, Robert Young, Ralph Bellamy Joan Geraldine Bennett (February 27, 1910 -- December 7, 1990) was an American stage, film and television actress. Besides acting on the stage, Bennett appeared in more than 70 motion pictures from the era of silent movies well into the sound era. She is possibly best-remembered for her film noir femme fatale roles in director Fritz Lang's movies such as The Woman in the Window (1944) and Scarlet Street (1945). Bennett had three distinct phases to her long and successful career, first as a winsome blonde ingenue, then as a sensuous brunette femme fatale (with looks that movie magazines often compared to those of Hedy Lamarr), and finally as a warmhearted wife/mother figure. In 1951, Bennett's screen career was marred by scandal after her third husband, film producer Walter Wanger, shot and injured her agent Jennings Lang. Wanger suspected that Lang and Bennett were having an affair,[1] a charge which she adamantly denied.[2] In the 1960s, she achieved success for her portrayal of Elizabeth Collins Stoddard on TV's Dark Shadows, for which she received an Emmy nomination (1968). For her final movie role, as Madame Blanc in Suspiria (1977), she received a Saturn Award nomination. In her 'New York Times' obituary she was said to be "...one of the most underrated actresses of her time". Bennett's ...
