Antonio Ramón Villaraigosa ( /ˌviː.əraɪˈɡoʊsə/; born January 23, 1953), born Antonio Ramón Villar, Jr., is the 41st and current Mayor of Los Angeles, California, the third Mexican American to have ever held office in the city of Los Angeles and the first in over 130 years. He is also the current president of the United States Conference of Mayors. He was elected mayor on May 17, 2005, defeating incumbent mayor James Hahn, and then re-elected for a second term in 2009. Prior to his election as mayor, Villaraigosa was the California State Assemblyman for the 45th District, the Speaker of the California State Assembly, and the Los Angeles City Councilman representing the 14th District. Due to term limits, he is ineligible to run for a third term in 2013.

Before being elected to public office, Villaraigosa was a labor organizer. He served as a national co-chairman of Hillary Rodham Clinton's 2008 presidential campaign and as a member of President Barack Obama's Transition Economic Advisory Board. He will serve as chair of the 2012 Democratic National Convention in September 2012.

Mac Llewellyn Taylor is a fictional character in the CBS crime drama CSI: NY, portrayed by Gary Sinise. He is the Head of the NYPD Crime Lab and Supervisor of the CSI teams.

Mac's father served as a major in the United States Marine Corps. Gail O'Grady guest-starred in one episode as Mac's mother Millie. We learn in "Yahrzeit" that Mac's father, Private First Class McKenna Boyd Taylor, served in liberating the concentration camp Buchenwald. A survivor recounted how the elder Taylor restored his dignity and even offered the man his candy bar. He used to be a shopkeeper in Miami. Originally from Chicago, he moved to New York after his honorable discharge from the United States Marine Corps, where he had achieved the rank of Major (indicated by the gold oak leaves on his collar points in Episode 6.02 "Blacklist"). However, in episode 2.24, "Charge of this Post", Mac was shown having the rank of Sergeant. He now considers New York home and once told a colleague that they were working for the finest city in the finest country in the world. Throughout the series, Mac has shown that he will protect three things at any cost: The honor of his country (through his military service), the safety of his city (through his work at CSI), and the integrity of his lab (through his decision to fire Aiden Burn in Season 2, knocking Hawkes off a case that he deliberately withheld information from and suspending Adam Ross after disobeying a direct order).

Michael Jay Boskin (born September 23, 1945 in New York City) is the T. M. Friedman Professor of Economics and senior fellow at Stanford University's Hoover Institution. He also is Chief Executive Officer and President of Boskin & Co., an economic consulting company.

Boskin holds B.A. with highest honors, M.A., and Ph.D. degrees in economics from the University of California, Berkeley, earned in 1967, 1968, and 1971 respectively. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa.

He joined Stanford University in 1970. He is a Research Associate, National Bureau of Economic Research.

In government he is best known for serving as chair of the Council of Economic Advisors under George H. W. Bush and as Chairman of a Congressional Advisory Commission on the Consumer Price Index. That commission, known as the Boskin Commission, is controversial for introducing changes into the calculation of the Consumer Price Index that some critics believe make the index report inflation as lower than it actually is.

Boskin has been a director of Exxon Mobil since 1996. He is also a director of Oracle Corporation, Shinsei Bank, and Vodafone Group plc. He serves on the Commerce Department's Advisory Committee on the National Income and Product Accounts. Boskin is the recipient of the Adam Smith Prize and other professional awards.

Kai Ryssdal ( /ˈkaɪ ˈrɪzdɑːl/; born October 8, 1963) is an American radio journalist best known as the host of Marketplace, a business program that airs weekdays on U.S. public radio stations.

Marketplace is produced and distributed by American Public Media. Ryssdal took over in August 2005, replacing David Brown. Before hosting Marketplace, he was host of the Marketplace Morning Report, a 7-minute business roundup.

Ryssdal graduated from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, followed by spending eight years in the United States Navy, first flying from the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Theodore Roosevelt, and then as a Pentagon staff officer. Before moving to public radio, Ryssdal was a member of the United States Foreign Service and served in Ottawa, Canada, and Beijing, China.

Before joining Marketplace, Ryssdal was a reporter and substitute host for The California Report, a news and information program distributed to public radio stations throughout California by KQED-FM in San Francisco.

The Radio and Television News Directors Association and the national Public Radio News Directors Association have honored him with first place awards for his radio work.

Susan Kennedy (née Smith, previously Kinski), is a fictional character from the Australian Network Ten soap opera Neighbours, played by Jackie Woodburne. The character and her family were created by storyliners in an attempt to bring the show back to its roots. Susan made her first on-screen appearance on 3 October 1994 along with her eldest son and her only daughter. The storyliners made Susan a teacher at Erinsborough High school to give her immediate links with other characters. Since her introduction, Susan's personality and appearance have been through several changes. Her storylines have seen her begin a relationship with a Priest, being married, divorced and widowed. Susan has become a stepmother and a grandmother and she has been central to three plots revolving around health issues: Retrograde amnesia, Multiple sclerosis and Surrogacy. She has also been central to a cyber-bullying plot. In October 2009, Susan became the longest-running female character in the show's history, having been in Neighbours for over fifteen years. Woodburne has garnered various award nominations for her portrayal of Susan and the character has been well received by the public and critics.
