Breakin', released as Breakdance: The Movie in some countries, is a 1984 breakdancing-themed film directed by Joel Silberg. The film setting was inspired by a German documentary entitled Breakin' and Enterin' set in the Los Angeles multi-racial hip hop club Radiotron, based out of Macarthur Park in Los Angeles. Many of the artists and dancers, including Ice-T (who makes his movie debut as a club MC) and Boogaloo Shrimp, went straight from Breakin' and Enterin' to star in Breakin'. Ice-T has stated he considers the film and his own performance in it to be "wack".
The music score featured the hits "Breakin'... There's No Stopping Us" by Ollie & Jerry and "Freakshow on the Dance Floor". Breakin' was followed by a sequel, Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo.
Kelly, a struggling young jazz dancer (Lucinda Dickey) meets up with two break dancers, Ozone (Adolfo Quiñones)(known for crazy inversions) and Turbo (Michael Chambers), who have a bitter rivalry with another crew, Electro Rock, consisting of poppers Poppin' Pete (Timothy Solomon), Poppin' Taco (Bruno Falcon) and Lollipop (Ana 'Lollipop' Sánchez). They also struggle to overcome scorn from Kelly's dance instructor, Franco, who disapproves of her hybrid dance style and affiliation with street dancers. Kelly soon becomes the sensation of the street crowds. Through it all the audience is treated to a variety of breakthrough performances, including Turbo's "Broom Scene" and Taco's unique popping solos during the dance battles at the Radiotron nightclub. Many hit songs are featured, including "There's No Stoppin' Us" by Ollie & Jerry and "Tour de France" by Kraftwerk.

Intro
Hey, boy!
Verse 1
Once upon a time a DJ's task
Was just to play records, what more could you ask?
But then came remixes, scratching and cuts
Which was too much for many, drove some DJ's nuts
But the DJ named Glove has reigned supreme
As the turntable wizard of the hip-hop scene
So listen to him, check him out, but remember this
When The Glove's on the wheels of steel he's Reckless
Verse 2
This high-powered music is truly unique
As The Glove cuts the rhythm to the hip-hop beat
He moves like a madman as he spins his disc
He's the number one scratcher on the DJ list, he's Reckless
Verse 3
Now I've seen DJ's, too many to name
Some gained recognition and even fame
But when you talk of MC's, Ice-T is the best
And when you talk of DJ's, forget the rest, Glove's Reckless
Verse 4
So listen very closely as The Glove throws down
He cuts like a razor to the big beat sound
Dave's layin' down a groove that we know you'll like
With The Glove on the turntables and Ice-T on the mic, we're Reckless
Verse 5
So listen to the music, let your mind feel free
Realize you're with the master G-L-O-V-E
Dave and MC Ice-T, you know you're with the best
Because when we're in the mix you know the groove is fresh
Hold on tight
Wrap your arms around me till your knuckles are burning white
All your tears
Couldn’t match the bitter taste of all these wasted years
You take take
Everything that wasn’t even yours
Wait wait
You don’t got a hold of me anymore
In a clear view there’s a silhouette
And I watch you and I can’t forget
Knew we were done when you locked the door
Yeah I figured it out now
Breakin’s what the heart is for.
When I see you in the silhouette
And you hold close
Do you feel regret
Keeping me down when I hit that floor
And I figured it out girl
Breakin’s what the heart is for
For so long
I’ve had to bite my tongue but what’s the point if the feelings gone
I turn my head
Learned I only see some memory but all I see is red
Don’t don’t
Say it didn’t happen that way
I won’t won’t
Believe another word that you say
In a clear view there’s a silhouette
And I watch you and I can’t forget
Knew we were done when you locked the door
Yeah I figured it out now
Breakin’s what the heart is for
When I see you in the silhouette
And you hold close
Do you feel regret
Keeping me down when I hit that floor
And I figured it out girl
Breakin’s what the heart is for
Yeah breakin’s what the heart is for
Yeah breakin’s what the heart is for
And not a soul sleeps
Another heart skips the beat
It’s every note that you wrote and I hope that you choke on the lines
You’re wasting my time, another heart beats tonight.
In a clear view there’s a silhouette
And I watch you, no I'll never forget.
Knew we were done when you locked the door
Yeah I figured it out now
Breakin’s what the heart is for
When I see you in the silhouette
And you hold close
Do you feel regret
Keeping me down when I hit that floor
And I figured it out girl
Breakin’s what the heart is for
Yeah breakin’s what the heart is for
Yeah breakin’s what the heart is for
Yeah breakin’s what the heart is for
Where were you late last night
3am, car is gone
Three messages no reply
What has been going on
Why don't you tell me baby
What you've been doing lately
I used to turn you on
What has been going on
You say that you don?t want to
But you're a man you?ve got to
And I'm a sexy lady
I'll get somebody else
Why don't you tell me baby
What you've been doing lately
I used to turn you on
What has been going on
Faking love now
So I'm breakin up now
Faking love now
So I'm breakin? up now
Taken everything
What I was wishing for
Breakin? up now
I ain?t taking it no more
So you walk through the door
Don?t kiss me anymore
What?s that stain on your shirt
I'll get you where it hurts
Why don't you tell me baby
Who you've been doing lately
I used to turn you on
What has been going on
Now someone broke your car
And all your suits are gone
Oh look, the fishtank?s empty
Oh boy, this thing is done
Why don't you tell me baby
Who you've been doing lately
I used to turn you on
What has been going on
It's a shame you didn?t see
The beauty of you and me
It's a shame you still won't see
Going away there's nothing to stay for
Everything we do is some disease
Love is hidden by your fear
So don't make the mistake
Can't sit down
And I can't stand up
Cos if I do I know I'm gonna break
I can't stay in, and I can't go out
Cos if I do I know I'm gonna break
Uh-oh-uh-oh uh-oh yeah
Uh-oh-uh-oh uh-oh ohhh
Uh-oh-uh-oh uh-oh uh-oh
Cos you know I'm gonna break
Uh-oh-uh-oh uh-oh yeah
Uh-oh-uh-oh uh-oh ohhh
Uh-oh-uh-oh uh-oh uh-oh
Maybe the wait
Maybe the weight
Is too much for me to hold
Love is something
Nothing ever feels this way
It's time to come back
Can't sit down, and I can't stand up
Cos if I do I know I'm gonna break
I can't stay in, and I can't go out
Cos if I do I know I'm gonna break
Can't sit down, and I can't stand up
Cos if I do I know I'm gonna break
I can't stay in, and I can't go out
Cos if I do I know I'm gonna break
Uh-oh-uh-oh uh-oh yeah
Uh-oh-uh-oh uh-oh ohhh
Uh-oh-uh-oh uh-oh uh-oh
Cos you know I'm gonna break
Uh-oh-uh-oh uh-oh yeah
Uh-oh-uh-oh uh-oh ohhh
Uh-oh-uh-oh uh-oh uh-oh
Can't sit down, and I can't stand up
Cos if I do I know I'm gonna break
I can't stay in, and I can't go out
Cos if I do I know I'm gonna break
Uh-oh-uh-oh uh-oh yeah
Uh-oh-uh-oh uh-oh ohhh
Uh-oh-uh-oh uh-oh uh-oh
Cos you know I'm gonna
Can't sit down, and I can't stand up

Uh-oh-uh-oh uh-oh uh-oh

Uh-oh-uh-oh uh-oh ohhh
Uh-oh-uh-oh uh-oh uh-oh
Cos you know I'm gonna
Can't sit down, and I can't stand up
Cos if I do I know I'm gonna break
I can't stay in, and I can't go out
Cos if I do I know I'm gonna break
I can feel it breakin'
Feel the whole world shakin'
I can feel it breakin'
Well, I heard that your were found half dead
On un-forgiving ground
And though reports weren't all that clear
They found you somewhere north of here
And now there's nothin' I can do
More helpless than a child of two
I wish so bad I could've saved you
That all this love could somehow change you
So how do I just let you go
As if I'm strong, as if I know
And what am I supposed to do
As if you cared, as if you knew
I can hear the thunder
Feel you goin' under
I can feel it breakin'
Feel the whole world shakin'
Have you lost enough of what you got
To make you lose your mind
Are you holdin' on to one last drop
