Barbara Cartland - The Worlds Greatest Author of Pure Romance
Barbara Cartland was the world's most prolific novelist who wrote an amazing 723 books in her lifetime, of which no less than 644 were romantic novels with worldwide sales of over 1 billion copies and her books were translated into 36 different languages.
As well as romantic novels, she wrote historical biographies, 6 autobiographies, theatrical plays and books of advice on life, love, vitamins and cookery.
She wrote her first book at the age of 21 and it was called Jigsaw. It became an immediate bestseller and sold 100,000 copies in hardback in England and all over Europe in translation.
Between the ages of 77 and 97 she increased her output and wrote an incredible 400 romances as the demand for her romances was so strong all over the world.
She wrote her last book at the age of 97 and it was entitled perhaps prophetically The Way to Heaven.
Her books have always been immensely popular in the United States where in 1976 her current books were at numbers 1 & 2 in the B. Dalton bestsellers list, a feat never achieved before or since by any author.
Barbara Cartland became a legend in her own lifetime and will be best remembered for her wonderful romantic novels so loved by her millions of readers throughout the world, who have always collected her books to read again and again, especially when they feel miserable or depressed.
Her books will always be treasured for their moral message, her pure and innocent heroines, her handsome and dashing heroes, her blissful happy endings and above all for her belief that the power of love is more important than anything else in everyone's life.

Barbara Cartland sings Dream Lover
Well hello there, here is a beautiful, rather touching version of Dream Lover by the late, great, divine Barbara Cartland. She touched the hearts of millions with her stories of true love but what many people didnt know is that a while back Barbara recorded 12 of her most favourite love songs and released them on record. She recorded the songs along with the sublime Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. There is just something soo delightful, almost magical about these songs. She puts her little heart into each single word and even gives us charming little poems in the instrumental breaks. It really is such a special collection of songs. I could listen to them all day.
The record and CD (which is what I have) are incredibly rare and hard to get hold of. But as a big Barbara Cartland fan I just had to have it.
There are 11 other songs (each and every single one delightful as the last) that I plan to share with you youtubers over time. The songs on the record are...
1. I'll Follow My Secret Heart
2. The Desert Song
3. Mr Wonderful
4. How Deep Is The Ocean
5. If You Were The Only Girl In The World
6. I'll See You Again
7. A Nightingale Sang In Berkeley Square
8. Dream Lover (which is the one in this video)
9. Love Is My Reason
10. Always
11. If You Are But A Dream
12. Goodnight Sweetheart
If you would be interested in hearing others then please leave a comment in the box bellow and which ever song or songs have the most requests I will upload next :)
I really hope you enjoyed the video everyone and god bless you Barbara dear. This video is my little tribute to you. You are still inspiring people today and shall for many, many years to come x
