'SNL' Opens With 'Silent Night' in Honor of Shooting Victims
"Saturday Night Live" opened with a children's choir performing "Silent Night" in memory of the 20 children and seven adults killed in the shooting spree in Newtown, Conn. It was a moving, understated start to a packed "SNL" that featured a slew of guests, as well as Sir Paul McCartney performing again with the surviving members of Nirvana, as he did at Wednesday's Hurricane Sandy relief concert. Samuel L. Jackson also dropped what sounded a lot like the F-word, though he denied it on Twitter. He did acknowledge saying "bulls---." Rather than try to address Friday's mass shooting through host Martin Short's monologue -- or, somehow, some sort of hastily assembled sketch -- the show had the New York Children's Choir sing a song that seemed to reach out to the children killed the day before. "Sleep in heavenly peace," the choir sang.

This Week in Comedy - Jordan Brady and Greg Fitzsimmons
This week's guests on This Week in Comedy were director Jordan Brady ("I Am Comic") and comedian/podcaster Greg Fitzsimmons. In the cold open, Ed reminded us all that Comedy is for Closers. Introduction At the show's opening, Ed apologized for the cold open and yelled...for some reason. He also told a story about a recent experience at the zoo that included some lion-themed puns, which as we all know are the best kind. Comedy News with Julie Mitchell Chris Hardwick is appearing at Caroline's in New York City Also, our own Julie Mitchell is doing stand-up at Ye Old King's Head in Santa Monica on Thursday night! Ed gave her some tips on what to do if you throw up during your act, and how to perfect your best "funny look." Interview with Jordan Brady We opened with some clips from the documentary "I Am Comic." Jordan talked about the inspiration behind making "I Am Comic." It all started with him ripping off Wayne Federman jokes at comedy clubs in the Valley to get free ravioli. (Jordan later complained that Federman appeared on Kevin Pollak's Chat Show, but spent the whole time talking Ukuleles and didn't remember to plug the movie. He started talking to people about his experiences on the road as a touring comic. People were so interested in hearing his stories, he decided to turn them into a documentary. (The movie was also inspired by the book "I Killed: True Stories of the Road from America's Top Comics" by Ritch Shydner. So the film includes a lot of insider-y ...

Winter in Hell
Follow me: http://www.facebook.com/epraw - twitter.com/EnriquePacheco_
This is a 8 minutes short film, not a quick youtube video, please be patient or watch it later.
I shot this film over the course of a year. It then took me few months to edit and color grade it.
Synopsis:
Winter 2010, the stunning landscape of Iceland succumbs to the Arctic cold. Beaches and lakes get frozen, but something unexpected is going to happen... the earth shakes, warms up, and suddenly a big crack opens up at the top of the glacier Eyjafjallajokull. Lava, smoke, ash and fire come up from the depth of the earth, melting everything in its path.
Shot with the Canon 7D and 5D MarkII using Canon & Carl Zeiss lenses.

Ducked and Covered: A Survival Guide to the Post Apocalypse
Ducked and Covered: A Survival Guide to the Post Apocalypse is an instructional public information film designed to assist the general population with surviving life in Australia after a nuclear war. Produced by the Australian Board of Civil Defense during the early 1980s, this previously unseen, dusty print was uncovered deep within a university film archive.
Broken into four chapters, the film guides wary survivors through the trials that will await them in the post apocalypse. From post-apocalyptic fashion and unique uses for surplus human skulls, to becoming a local warlord and avoiding radioactive mutants, there is something for all dwellers of the wastelands. With its dry methodical narration, brooding synthesizer, minimalist animation and erroneous guidance, Ducked and Covered is a dark humored parody/loving homage to the late cold war era, early 1980’s public information films, as well as a reminder… OF WHAT STILL COULD BE.

hair-whip heartbreak
Naomi is 16, and works with us at photography factory when she is off school pretty much as an equal member. Lets be honest age is irrelevant in a great picture, plus she has a sense of the social media space to rival the best new media agency analysts. All the newest trends are always playing out as only she predicts. Her detailed clear and analysis of youth culture on the internet is worth a million dollars to us and she is a key member of our team. More importantly her simple black and white photographic portraits are utterly brilliant, an evocation of sub suburban teenage life as seen though the eyes of a 15 (now 16) year old girl. But on the day of this slow motion test Naomi was not her normal beautiful smiling dry sarcastic self (think Juno with a camera). Recently she had a relationship with a Hollister lookalike boy end in an unfair way (what was ever fair about being 16?) and have to get it all dragged around the internet as the aftermath played out on FaceBook in a very modern and very public way. So in other words she was putting on a brave face. We all involved setting up the high speed camera and needed someone to stand in as a lighting dummy, When shooter one had the idea to getting someone to shake their hair around... and see how it might look at 2000 fps. Naomi stepped up to the plate and quite shocked us by the force and passion she used to whip. The beguiling result is here... if you look at here closely you can see something else:
Something about that action and the air swishing though her hair just seemed to change her mood, as if she had just tossed away the weight of an the old nightmare, something thick and heavy that had been clinging to her, but suddenly it was gone. As she was hair whipping for the camera, shooter one quietly said to himself:
"Go girl, shake that boy right out of your hair..."

Sadness flies on the wings of the morning and out of the heart of darkness comes the light. ~Jean Giraudoux

No man is rich enough to buy back his past. ~Oscar Wilde
When love is lost, do not bow your head in sadness; instead keep your head up high and gaze into heaven for that is where your broken heart has been sent to heal. ~Dante
In the arithmetic of love, one plus one equals everything, and two minus one equals nothing. ~Mignon McLaughlin, The Second Neurotic's Notebook, 1966
Relationships are like glass. Sometimes it's better to leave them broken than try to hurt yourself putting it back together. ~Author Unknown
Love is like a puzzle. When you're in love, all the pieces fit but when your heart gets broken, it takes a while to get everything back together. ~Author Unknown
Maybe part of loving is learning to let go. ~From the television show The Wonder Years
I prithee send me back my heart,
Since I cannot have thine;
For if from yours you will not part,
Why, then, shouldst thou have mine?
~John Suckling
As soon as forever is through, I'll be over you. ~Toto
Let your tears come. Let them water your soul. ~Eileen Mayhew
It's so curious: one can resist tears and 'behave' very well in the hardest hours of grief. But then someone makes you a friendly sign behind a window, or one notices that a flower that was in bud only yesterday has suddenly blossomed, or a letter slips from a drawer... and everything collapses. ~Colette
The heart is the only broken instrument that works. ~T.E. Kalem
Sometimes I wish I were a little kid again, skinned knees are easier to fix than broken hearts. ~Author Unknown
God can heal a broken heart, but He has to have all the pieces. ~Author Unknown
What is the opposite of two? A lonely me, a lonely you. ~Richard Wilbur
Sadness flies away on the wings of time. ~Jean de La Fontaine
If we must part forever,
Give me but one kind word to think upon,
And please myself with, while my heart's breaking.
~Thomas Otway
Have you ever been hurt and the place tries to heal a bit, and you just pull the scar off of it over and over again. ~Rosa Parks
With what a deep devotedness of woe
I wept thy absence - o'er and o'er again
Thinking of thee, still thee, till thought grew pain,
And memory, like a drop that, night and day,
Falls cold and ceaseless, wore my heart away!
~Thomas Moore
Where you used to be, there is a hole in the world, which I find myself constantly walking around in the daytime, and falling in at night. I miss you like hell. ~Edna St. Vincent Millay

Jonathan Rhys Meyers-August Rush Something Inside (+lyrics)
jonathanrm.musique.com One of the 3 songs by Jonathan from August Rush' soundtrack. Enjoy! Lyrics When the one thing you're looking for Is nowhere to be found And you back stepping all of your moves Trying to figure it out You wanna reach out You wanna give in Your head's wrapped around what's around the next bend You wish you could find something warm 'Cause you're shivering cold It's the first thing you see as you open your eyes The last thing you say as your saying goodbye Something inside you is crying and driving you on It's the first thing you see as you open your eyes The last thing you say as your saying goodbye Something inside you is crying and driving you on 'Cause if you hadn't found me I would have found you I would have found you So long you've been running in circles 'Round what's at stake But now the times come for your feet to stand still in one place You wanna reach out You wanna give in Your head's wrapped around what's around the next bend You wish you could find something warm 'Cause you're shivering cold It's the first thing you see as you open your eyes The last thing you say as your saying goodbye Something inside you is crying and driving you on It's the first thing you see as you open your eyes The last thing you say as your saying goodbye Something inside you is crying and driving you on 'Cause if you hadn't found me I would have found you I would have found you It was your first taste of love Living upon what you had It's the first thing you ...
