Need Your Help Please

needle

Hi guys seems like when it rains it pours lately lol. This morning I was in the process of ripping a record for todays post. I removed my needle from the cartridge like I regularly do to clean it before ripping the record. However this morning when I removed the needle the entire cartridge broke from the head shell (see picture) making it unusable. Now I need to order another cartridge from my dealer. This is gonna set me back about $169.00 plus shipping so I need your help to raise the funds to purchase a new Ortofon OM 30 Cartridge. I am going to use FedEx Overnight shipping which costs a little more but will get me up and running faster. I you would like to help out you can make a donation via Paypal by clicking the donate button below or anywhere on the blog. I will let you know just as soon as I raise the funds and order the cartridge. I appreciate your help so much.

Thank you,

Paul

Kim Wilde – You Came (The Shep Pettibone Mix) (US 12″)

Posted by DjPaulT on May 28th, 2013

BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1988

A. Front

“You Came” is the second single from the Kim Wilde album Close.

The single became one of the biggest hits of her long career topping the charts throughout Europe and reaching #3 in the UK Singles Chart. Although it did not continue her United States success, on the pop chart, it peaked at number ten on the dance chart.

The song was released during the summer of 1988, while Wilde was supporting Michael Jackson on the European leg of his tour (the video for “You Came” showed material from the concerts as well as backstage footage). With the Close album becoming a best-seller, this was arguably the point where Wilde was at the pinnacle of her career as “You Came” reached the top ten in charts all over the world.

The song was written by Wilde and her brother after the birth of his first child, Marty.

Oklahoma Tornado

Posted by DjPaulT on May 21st, 2013

As many of you know I live in Tulsa, Oklahoma which is about 90 miles northeast of of Moore a highly populated suburb of Oklahoma City where a massive tornado struck yesterday afternoon. This storm has caused major damage and loss of life. The tornado carved a path two miles wide and nearly 30 miles long leaving destruction as far as the eye can see. My thoughts and prayers go out to the people of my state that are hurting, it is unimagineable what has occured. As we have seen so many times before in other disasters help is greatly needed. One way you can help is by visiting the the Red Cross web site. On that site you can find different ways that you can help and make an impact. My thoughts and prayers are with my fellow Oklahomans.

No Post This Week

Posted by DjPaulT on May 13th, 2013

Hi everyone! I just wanted to fill you in on what’s going on. I started feeling sick over the weekend and I went to the ER doctor and they admitted me to the hospital with pneumonia. As far as I know, I’ll be in the hospital for a couple of days. I will more than likely not be posting for the rest of this week so that I can rest. Thanks in advance for your thoughts and understanding.
