The English Language In 24 Accents
Check out my newest accent video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NtB1W8zkY5A&feature;=plcp Anyway this video is me attempting to do 24 different accents from my own country and from other countries around the world. Hopefully I got most of them right but I may have made mistakes and I can do some better than others. However, I made this video for my friends because I promised them I would do an accent video. I mean no offence to anyone and please don't be upset if I have not included your specific accent or got it wrong. Please enable and read the annotations too, as they explain a few things. Also please note that I learned most of these accents randomly off of TV, movies and video games over the years and some can be very stereotypical. And yes, I am filming in the garden shed lol as its more quiet in there.- published: 18 Feb 2014

Learning English - Lesson One (Introduction)
Learning English - Lesson One (Introduction)
Hi everybody this is Misterduncan in England. How are you today? Are you ok?...I hope so. Are you happy?...I hope so. Welcome to the very first episode of my series of English teaching videos Before I begin we will take alook at some of the common questions that often arise when talking about learning the English language. and more importantly, learning it as a second language. So, the first question must be... "Why do we need to learn English?" Of course one of the reasons why we need to be able to speak English nowadays is because the world is becoming smaller. Thanks to the internet and our developing global economy, more and more people are using English as a common way to communicate with each other. So now it has become unavoidable that companies and large businesses will need to employ people.who can speak more than their own native language, that is where English comes in. It is now officially considered as an international language. Of course learning anything is difficult and English is no exception. However, there are ways to make the situation easier. I have come up with my own list of general rules for learning English Do you want to hear them? Do you want to know what they are? Ok...let's go! Learning English takes time and patience. It cannot be rushed Try to relax and take it easy The most important thing you need at the beginning is a good vocabulary Without words, you have nothing to work with You must start with a strong foundation or base. and slowly build on it, day by day! You must view English as a part of your body... just as you would an arm or leg It must become a part of your everyday life. Daily practise is very important. Do not worry about making mistakes... in fact the more mistakes you make... The more you will learn from them just like learning to ride a bike sometimes you fall off. So what do you do? You get back on and try again. Do not look at English as just another subject Your attitude to English and the way you view it Will decide how well you progress. just as we say in English "No pain...no gain" The two most important words to remember when learning English are... practise and confidence. Practise English everyday and be confident. You will find that the more you use English... the better your English will become. and the more confident you become... then the more you will want to use it. Make it a rule to tell yourself... I can do it...I can do it...I can do it ! Please remember, my lessons are aimed at everyone so hopefully you will find something useful in each one. Maybe you will find some of the words I use very easy. But you will also see some words that may be new to you. Remember...my lessons are aimed at everyone. Even teachers are very welcome to join in. Learning English should be a fun experience and I hope with the help of my videos lessons you will discover just how much fun it can be. I hope you've enjoyed my first lesson. This is Misterduncan in England saying Thanks for watching and bye-bye for now.- published: 18 Feb 2014

Mind Your Language Season 1 Episode 1 - The First Lesson (Eng Subs)
Original Airdate : December 30, 1977 Jeremy Brown starts his new job as the teacher of English as a Foreign Language class, and meets his students for the first time. A diverse group of ten foreign adult students in London, hailing from nine different countries. From Europe come two au pairs, the flirtatious and beautiful Danielle (France) and prim and proper Anna (Germany); two young single men, Giovanni (Italy) and Max (Greece); and a laid-back middle-aged bartender, Juan (Spain), who speaks no English. From Asia come a revolutionary-minded secretary from the Chinese Embassy (Su-Li) and a Japanese businessman (Taro), as well as three students from the Subcontinent: a devout Punjabi Sikh (Ranjeet); and an unemployed Pakistani Muslim (Ali), who are constantly at each other's throats; and finally an Urdu-speaking housewife (Jamila) who can't speak a word of English. The school principal, Ms. Dolores Courtney, nearly dismisses Mr. Brown immediately as she had requested a female teacher, but he is allowed to stay on a trial basis. http://comedytvshows.blogspot.com- published: 18 Feb 2014

The Future of the English Language
The Future of the English Language
Words, phrases and idioms reflect the world around us. If you don't believe us, check out "word of mouth" on radio 4: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/factual/wordofmouth.shtml. When bundled together into languages, all those words start to reflect how power is distributed in the world. Take the English Language. There used to be a very direct relationship between the English language and the imprint of Britain's influence around the world -- the global era however, has made this relationship less clear. English is no longer a natural source of natural competitive advantage for the UK. As a Brit you can forget your phrase book when you go and holiday and it's probably no big deal -- but if you think that's going to help you in the workplace, forget it. More English speakers, means more competition for your job and it means your desk can be shifted to another country when market forces demand it. The English Language now has many shareholders, and The English are just one of them. In Britain, from a policy perspective, it's time to rethink how we teach English, our whole attitude to languages, to reflect our changing relationship to the rest of the world. For more see this Demos publication http://www.demos.co.uk/publications/asyoulikeitpamphlet In response to this work, two graduates from the Royal College of Art, Susan Ibreck and Celia Willis have produced this short film.- published: 18 Feb 2014

Five Major Differences Between Chinese and English Languages - Grammar
Five Major Differences Between Chinese and English Languages - Grammar
http://www.Rocket-Language.us I am a slow learner. I can learn only very little a day. I tend to forget easily. These were my major blocks to learning a new language. But Rocket Chinese kicked the butt of all these shortcomings!! I can now speak Chinese very fluently. I am no more apprehensive about having food from a restaurant in China or shopping in any Chinese malls. From 'Ni hao' (Hello) to 'Wan an' (Good night), I have the right words of Mandarin Chinese at the tip of my fingers - and that too with the right tones. That is the power of Rocket Chinese language course. This course is so designed that anyone belonging to any age group or nationality can learn the language with comparative ease. What helped me most in this course are the following: I can learn a new thing or do any task only if those are arranged in a systematic manner and in simple steps. Rocket Chinese software is designed exactly in that way! There are step-by-step instructions on how to learn Chinese - be it Pin Yin, conversational sentences, or Chinese characters. http://www.Rocket-Language.us Within a few days of learning Rocket Chinese, my confidence level catapulted to higher levels. This was made possible by this software by the conversational lessons and audio lessons included in them. While audio lessons taught the correct pronunciation, conversational lessons gave confidence to mingle with Chinese-speaking population. I could start interacting with Chinese speakers with enough confidence. This interaction also improved my language learning. However, without the ingenious methods, this interaction would not have been possible in the first place. Equally worth mentioning is the forum support provided by Rocket Chinese. No language learning software can provided us with anything and everything we need to master the language. Therefore, this course found the right solution by providing a round-the-clock forum support. Here, I could meet others who are using this same software to learn Mandarin. I could discuss about many things that were not covered in the course material. This not only expanded my knowledge, but also provided me a platform to interact with other fellow students in Chinese!! Moreover, all this facility comes at no extra cost. By interacting with other students, I came to know of lot of other salient features of this language learning software. Therefore, I confidently and authoritatively recommend Rocket Chinese to anyone who has a passion for learning Chinese. http://www.Rocket-Language.us- published: 18 Feb 2014
