UK Parliament tour - House of Commons Chamber
The House of Commons Chamber is where Members of Parliament meet to discuss legislation, to hold the Government to account and debate issues that concern them or their constituents. Rebuilt after it was bombed during the Second World War, the House of Commons is the twentieth century part of the building. Prime Minister David Cameron put forward his case for why Britain should step in: "The President of the United States, Barack Obama, he is a man who opposed the action in Iraq, no-one could in any way describe him as a president who wants to involve America in more wars in the Middle East. But he profoundly believes that an important red line has been crossed in an appalling way and that is why he supports action in this case". Cameron had originally recalled MPs to vote on an immediate military strike in Syria. After learning Labour would vote against the motion, he was forced to adapt it, saying he would wait for the report from UN inspectors before holding a second vote. Labour says it wants to see "compelling evidence" that the Assad regime was responsible for chemical warfare, and said weapons inspectors must be given more time. Labour leader, Ed Milliband told parliament: "Let them conclude their work for four days and then we will have to analyse scientifically with experts and then we will have to report to the security council for action, so the weapons inspectors are in the midst of their work and will be reporting in the next few days, that is why today could not have been the day when the house was asked to decide on military action." == (function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/fr_FR/all.js#xfbml=1"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs); }(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk')); Publication de euronews.== However Labour MPs said shortly before the debate that they would still vote against the government. It's believed up to 70 Tory MPs say they are "yet to be persuaded" by the coalition's case for military action. A second parliamentary vote on British involvement in military action will probably not happen until at least early next week, after the UN's weapons inspectors have published their report into last week's alleged "gas attack". In a humiliating and unexpected development, Cameron and his coalition government failed to pass a motion that would have authorised military action against Syria in principle by 285 to 272 votes. "It is very clear tonight that while the House has not passed a motion, it is clear to me that the British parliament, reflecting the views of the British people, does not want to see British military action - I get that and the government will act accordingly," said Cameron. The vote came as members of the UN Security Council met to discuss allegations that the Syrian regime had launched a deadly chemical weapons attack in suburbs of Damascus. The UK had seemed poised to join Washington in possible military strikes in response to the alleged incident. America says it will decide on its response based on US interests and will continue to consult with the British government in the wake of Thursday's vote. UN weapons inspectors are continuing to investigate the chemical weapons claims. They are due to present their findings to Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on Saturday. A Tear For Sarah
Odiham Castle (also known locally as King John's Castle) is a ruined castle situated near Odiham in Hampshire, United Kingdom. It is one of only three fortresses built by King John during his reign.
The site was possibly chosen by King John because he had visited the area in 1204 and it lay halfway between Windsor and Winchester.
In 1215 it was from either Odiham or Windsor that King John rode out to Runnymede where he met the barons and signed the Magna Carta. A year later Odiham Castle was captured by the French after a two-week siege during the First Barons' War in 1216.
Odiham Castle might have become one of the most important strongholds in England. In 1238 Simon de Montfort married King John's daughter Eleanor just two years after she had been granted Odiham by her brother, King Henry III. However de Monfort rebelled against Henry and died at the Battle of Evesham in 1265 and Eleanor was exiled. Odiham Castle was again retained by the Crown.
The castle was also involved in the rebellion led by the powerful Despenser family against Roger Mortimer and Queen Isabella of France, the wife of Edward II.
During the fourteenth century Odiham hosted Parliament. Scottish King David II, after his capture at the Battle of Neville's Cross in 1346, was also imprisoned here for 11 years. However he was held under light guard and was allowed to keep a household.
By the 15th century Odiham was now used only as a hunting-lodge. In 1605 the former royal castle was described as a ruin.
The nearby village filmed here is Upton Grey,
The famous Elizabethan poet, George Puttenham, lived at Herriard House but also had a farm at Upton Grey. It was there that he kept his seventeen-year-old sex slave whom he had kidnapped in London. Eventually she was released when Puttenham's long suffering wife discovered her existence.

History:
by Taekon Lee
The Era of Universal Peace: God’s Providence and the Abel UN]
In 1935, while his homeland o...f Korea was ruled by imperialist Japan, God gave fifteen-year old Sun Myung Moon the mission to end human suffering.
From that day until the end of the Second World War in 1945,
he invested everything to understand God’s will for humankind, and the principles by which it might be fulfilled.
While still a student, Sun Myung Moon had become involved in the movement to free his country from Japan’s domination; he was arrested by the Japanese police and tortured almost to death.
At 26, he crossed the border into communist North Korea in response to God’s call.
He began evangelizing but was arrested on charges of disturbing the peace and served two-years and eight-months in a brutal concentration camp, where prisoners were systematically worked and starved to death. After surviving hellish conditions, he went south with thousands displaced by the Korean War.
By 1951, Rev. Moon was in Busan, a city on the south coast overflowing with refugees. He stayed at a laborer’s shelter, where he began to write down the principles that would form the basis of the doctrine of the Unification faith.
He began his church from a hut that he built from army ration boxes on the side of a hill in Busan’s Beomnaetgol district.
Three years later, in a humble house in Seoul, he put up the sign “Holy Spirit Association for the Unification of World Christianity.” This was the formal beginning of the Unification Church.
Within months of launching this mission, an explosion of growth in membership occurred, as students and professors joined from Ewha Woman’s University and Yonsei University, both well-renowned in Korea.
Since those days, Rev. and Mrs. Moon have inspired men and women in nations far from their native land, in accord with Rev. Moon’s original experience with God in the Korean countryside.
Whether Rev. Moon is speaking to one person or ten thousand, he fervently conveys the heart and will of Heaven.
On global speaking tours, he poured out his heart to his fellow human beings, rich and poor alike.
He has spoken in the halls of power, in the parliament or congress of at least ten different nations, and at the United Nations.
He has always done his best to convey God’s love and a vision of the human potential, in the hope that those hearing his message will be transformed.
The cold war era:
Rev. and Mrs. Moon organized a common stand against communism, in Korea, Japan, Central and South America, and other parts of the world threatened with the totalitarian political system. In so doing, they felt responsible to bring an end to the cold war.
The Washington Times, which Rev. Moon founded, played a pivotal role in this.
[Ronald Reagan, 40th president of the United States]
[Margaret Thatcher, former prime minister of the United Kingdom]
Rev. Moon has planted the seeds of peace always hoping and believing that others would join him in helping them germinate and grow.
His major projects include the Middle East Peace Initiative and interfaith activities to engender cooperative harmony among religious leaders;
Business initiatives to equalize the distribution of technology;
Educational institutions to foster global thinking;
Media organizations that champion responsibility and moral values.
The 21st century, a new millennium begins…
Rev. Moon unveiled a number of initiatives that he hoped would promote reform of the United Nations.
Rev. Moon has advocated the installation of a bicameral system in the UN through the installation of an interreligious council, and the creation of peace parks in disputed areas (including a soccer field straddling Israel and Gaza)—to assist the United Nations in fulfilling its great mandate.
Rev. Moon has sought to reveal God’s suffering over the sorrowful situation of the human race, and the hope that knowing God’s love brings.
Believing that the solutions to our deepest problems will be found in reconnecting to God, Rev. and Mrs. Moon spend time in prayer and study of scripture, and encourage this as a way of life.
Rev. Moon is no stranger to life’s challenges. He speaks his mind and this has made him a controversial figure. He has been unjustly imprisoned six times—by the Japanese who’d annexed his homeland, in Korea, and even in the United States.
Yet he has always responded to persecution and misunderstanding with the heart to embrace those who have stood against him.
[Rev. Hyung Jin Moon, International President of the Unification Church]
With such true love, True Parents have bestowed their blessings on humankind. They have found and proclaimed the truth to us.

Antidisestablishmentarianism
Once Love became the ruler of the heart’s realm,
It ruled out the way of the cleric and the king.
…
From pre-eternity to post-eternity is but a single breath,
A breath free of all those melodies high and low.
Dr Javad Nurbakhsh, Master of Nimatulahi Sufi Order
The struggle between the cleric and king is highlighted in
the enduring debate on whether Anglicanism should be
the exclusive religion of the British Crown and
Government. As HRH Queen Elizabeth’s arms declare, the
English Sovereign rules “by god and by right”: the
spiritual and legal authority of the British State and
Anglican clergy flow from her divine and majestic
authority as the supreme governor of god’s word. In a
time where corporate executives like Aylwin B. Lews sit
on boards of media, retail and military companies (ABC,
Sears and Halliburton Co.) that have larger market
capitalisation than the Vatican and Queen of England
combined, it is not a surprise that now even the
Archbishop of Cantebury, Dr. Rowan Williams, sees the
disestablishment of the Church of England as religion of
the realm to be a rather trivial matter. Advocating a
mystical approach to religion similar to Dr. Nurbakhsh’s –
that love is the ruler of the heart’s (god’s) realm – the
disestablishmentarians, like Williams, seem to embody the
new post modern religiosity – religion without its reason
for being, without dogma, separation or struggle. No
matter that the Petrine Doctrine of papal supremacy is
directly in conflict with the idea that the British monarch is
the Fount of Honour, in today’s post ideological era, such
minor details are not significant.
Antidisestablishmentarians have kept a classical
understanding of the cleric and the king, recognizing that
if the spirit only continues on earth within the Catholic
Church and if the Pope has universal power as the
successor of St Peter then a Catholic Crown in British
Parliament raises the problem of conflicting loyalties. If
the Lords Spiritual, Temporal and Commons are loyal to a
Monarch bound to a ruler of another State, the
independent nationalism of the United Kingdom is
dissolved. But are such concerns relevant in a kingdom
where more people attend Mosques than Anglican
Churches and where perceptions are shaped more by
Omnicom and WPP than by the Lords Spiritual or
Temporal, the Commons or the Sovereign?
Like Archbishop Williams, I believe not, and for this
reason, I have sought to recreate the single breath in my
work on Antidisestablishmentarianism. The visuals explore
the breath as constant, transcendent, as resolution, as the
unifier between the cleric and the king. The soundscape
creates a breath free from melodies high and low. Free
from the egos of the sovereigns, both papal and regal, it
is the sounds of the seeker of the spirit.
