Jerome Adolphus Jordan (born September 29, 1986) is a Jamaican professional basketball player for the Jiangsu Monkey King of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). He played college basketball for the University of Tulsa and represents the Jamaican national team in international competition.
Jordan was born to parents Bryan and Faith Jordan in Kingston, Jamaica, a city with just two hardwood courts, and it was not until age 16 that Jordan began playing basketball. Stephen Johnston, a former Jamaican national team captain, found a spot for Jordan at Redemption Christian Academy in Troy, New York, which he attended with his sister, Jheanelle, while his parents stayed in Jamaica. However, after one semester, Bryan withdrew Jerome and Jheanelle from the school and they returned to Kingston.
After graduating from Jamaica College, Jordan enrolled at Florida Air Academy in Melbourne, Florida. However, he was ineligible to play in 2005–06 due to an academic transfer rule.
Jordan is a village in the town of Waterford, Connecticut, and the historic center of the town. It was named from the Jordan River. The village was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as Jordan Village Historic District in 1990. The district includes 58 contributing buildings and one other contributing site over an area of 57 acres (23 ha). It includes examples of Greek Revival and Queen Anne architectural styles.
Jordan Village is located on land known historically as Jordan Plain, a flat land area at the head of Jordan Cove, an estuary off Long Island Sound. The historic district surrounds the intersection of Rope Ferry Road and North Road.
Jordan (died in 982 or 984) was the first Bishop of Poland from 968 with his seat, most probably, in Poznań. He was an Italian or German.
Most evidence shows that he was missionary bishop subordinate directly to the Pope. He arrived in Poland, probably from Italy or the Rhineland, in 966 with Doubravka of Bohemia to baptise Mieszko I of Poland. After the death of Jordan until 992 the throne of the Bishop of Poland was vacant, or there was a bishop of unknown name (the first theory is more probable). His successor, from 992, was Unger.
The Jordan 198 was the car with which the Jordan Formula One team used to compete in the 1998 Formula One season. It was driven by 1996 World Champion Damon Hill, who had moved from Arrows, and Ralf Schumacher, who was in his second season with the team.
After a dismal start which saw the team fail to score a single championship point in the first half of the season, numerous improvements to the car and tyre development by Goodyear enabled Jordan to climb back into the top teams. At the 1998 Belgian Grand Prix, the team scored a historic first victory with Hill, with Schumacher finishing behind him in second place. The team finished fourth in the Constructors' Championship, one ahead of Benetton.

Jerome of Périgord (died 30 June 1120), in Spanish Jerónimo, was a French monk who became the bishop of several dioceses in Spain. He was a companion of Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar, El Cid, and in 1097 or 1098 became the bishop of Valencia after Rodrigo's conquest of the city. Forced to abandon it following Rodrigo's death, Jerome entered the service of Duke Raymond of Galicia in 1102 and became bishop over the churches in Salamanca, Ávila and Zamora.
Jerome has been posited as the author of both the anonymous verse history Historia Roderici, in which he is not mentioned, and of the anonymous epic poem Cantar de mio Cid, in which he figures as a warrior-priest.
Jerome's life before he came to Spain is obscure. According to Rodrigo Jiménez de Rada, writing a little over a century later, he was originally from the region of Périgord in France. He was a black monk, possibly at the Cluniac abbey of Moissac further south. His obituary is not listed in the necrology of Moissac, although that of his contemporary and countryman, Bishop Gerald of Braga, is.
Jerome Shaw, born John Robert Shaw and commonly known as Bishop Jerome (born December 21, 1946), is a retiredbishop of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia. He was formerly the auxiliary bishop of Manhattan. He is a Slavist, theologian and polyglot.
John Robert Shaw was born on December 21, 1946, and grew up in a small New England town. He came of an old American family, of "Anglo" ancestry, and was raised in the Episcopal Church. Interested in languages from an early age, he began learning Russian and Greek from the time he was 14.
At first, he did not see the connection between these languages and religion, but as he became more curious about Anglicanism, he came to believe that just as the Church of England had broken away from Rome, so in turn had the Roman Catholic Church originated as one of the Orthodox patriarchates but separated and made changes in its teachings.
From age 16, his curiosity about these things began to turn into a serious quest for the "true church". That year, he began immersing himself in everything he could read about Orthodox Christianity and discovered that one of his schoolmates, Dmitry Rimsky, was of Russian Orthodox background. Rimsky's father, Fyodor Rimsky, was a parishioner of the Synodal Cathedral of Our Lady of the Sign in Manhattan, and although he did not attend services too often, he recommended the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia to Shaw and promised to take him there the next time he went.
1414 Jérôme, provisional designation 1937 CE, is a somewhat eccentric, carbonaceous asteroid from the outer region of the asteroid belt, about 17 kilometers in diameter. It was discovered on 12 February 1937 by French astronomer Louis Boyer at Algiers Observatory, Algeria, in northern Africa.
The dark C-type asteroid, classified as a Ch-subtype in the SMASS classification scheme, which have a typical absorption feature in the visible red light, orbits the Sun at a distance of 2.3–3.2 AU once every 4 years and 8 months (1,697 days). Its orbit shows an eccentricity of 0.16 and is tilted by 9 degrees to the plane of the ecliptic. It has an albedo of 0.065. Although the body's diameter and albedo were measured by four observations made by the Infrared Astronomical Satellite, IRAS, little is known about the asteroid, with its rotation period remaining unknown, despite having a well-observed orbit with the lowest possible uncertainty, or condition code, of 0 and an observation arc that spans over a period of almost 80 years.
