This isn't the original version of Dorsey's tune, which reached #48 on the pop charts in 1960, rather it is his remake of it on his 1977 "Things I Treasure" ...

DORSEY BURNETTE Walk Together
DORSEY BURNETTE You Came As A Miracle 1958
I met Rockabilly Hall of Famer Dorsey Burnette in about 1964 at a concert in Panama City, FL. Just as when I met his younger brother, Johnny, three years earlier, my goal was to sneak backstage, meet Dorsey, and get his autograph. Much to my surprise he came out into the crowd prior to the concert to meet people and sign autographs. I met him and he signed a small business card for me which, sadly, I lost during one of my several moves over the years. He was also looking for people to sell merchandise for him during and after the show. I volunteered but, at about age 14, was probably considered too young for the job. A great songwriter, Dorsey recorded a large volume of work throughout his career on multiple record labels scoring huge hits with "Tall Oak Tree" and the two-sided hit "Hey Little One" b/w "Big Rock Candy Mountain". Fellow Rockabilly Hall of Fame member Buddy Knox once told me that Dorsey was a free agent, meaning he recorded tunes then leased them to record companies which gave him the best deal. This is a plausible explanation as to the multitude of record labels which released his work. He also had some Country hits in the late 1970s. Like his brother, Johnny, who tragically died at age 30 in 1964, Dorsey also died much too soon, in 1979, at age 46 of a heart attack. He and Johnny have developed a cult following over their years both for their solo work and for their work in the legendary Rock 'n' Roll Trio. I hope you enjoy the video, my story that goes with it, and will share the music.
I think the only thing spinning around in Dorsey's head is a thing called love, and he's got it bad, but it's a great song, and isn't that how it usually goes, they posses your mind, and it seems to me we should just enjoy, lol... Dave:)

Husky Burnette stopped by the Rusty Knuckles headquarters so we put him on the spot to ask a few quick questions about his new album and where he thinks root music is heading. ReverbNation: http://www.reverbnation.com/huskyburnettemusic Official Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/huskyburnette Rusty Knuckles Music: http://www.rustyknucklesmusic.com https://www.facebook.com/RustyKnuckles http://www.twitter.com/rustyknuckles http://www.instagram.com/rustyknuckles The Blues are a religion and Brian "Husky" Burnette sho nuff preaches it. You can feel the testimony as he blends Delta Blues, Rock n Roll and Electric Blues. His music is gritty, soulful, southern, low-down and dirty. Husky, who hails from Chattanooga, TN, followed in the family footsteps of rockabilly kings Johnny Burnette and Dorsey Burnette, writing, recording and touring with several national artists over the years. Two of which that stand out are lead guitar position for legendary singer/songwriter Roger Alan Wade and the supporting act on tour for Hank Williams III. He has shared the stage with many others such as Leon Russell, T-Model Ford, Kenny Brown, Guy Clark, Emmylou Harris, Shooter Jennings, Scott H. Biram, Col J.D. Wilkes (The Legendary Shack Shakers/The Dirt Daubers) and J.J. Grey and Mofro. Husky recently signed with Rusty Knuckles Music to release his next LP, "Tales From East End Blvd." in August 2013. The new album was recorded and produced by J.B. Beverley and Buck Thrailkill at Rebel Roots Studio and features Shooter Jennings, Billy Don Burns and J.B. Beverley, among others.

An interesting album which features a collection of tracks which either feature a famous musician or composer's music or playing style played by an no name studio group. The mass credit of Ira Wright Orchestra is merely a pseudonym and that was a standard practice for budget labels. Often they made recordings with a bunch of low wage session musicians and pay them a flat fee with no royalties as a condition of employment. This allowed them to reissue material without having to pay anyone other then music copyright companies, but they only had to do this when the used non-public domain music. Tracks are as follows: (Artists and composers listed bellow are listed only to demonstrate who they were "tributing", with the expection of the Ken Griffin track, which is actually a recording of that artist) Side A Tommy Dorsey- Dark Eyes Glenn Miller- Anvil Chorus Dave Rose- Spanish Serenade Leroy Anderson- Blue Tango Ken Griffin- After The Ball Side B Al Jolson- Swanee George M. The Examiner 2012-12-30Dorsey Burnette (December 28, 1932, Memphis, Tennessee - August 19, 1979, Canoga Park, California) was an early Rockabilly singer. With his younger brother, Johnny Burnette, and a friend named Paul Burlison, he was a founder member of The Rock and Roll Trio.
Dorsey Burnett was born on December 28, 1932 to Willie May and Dorsey Burnett Sr. in Memphis, Tennessee. The 'e' at the end of his surname was added later. His younger brother, John Joseph "Johnny" Burnett, was born on March 25, 1934. The family lived in a public housing project in the Lauderdale Courts area of Memphis, Tennessee.[citation needed]
Dorsey was a competent athlete with an interest in boxing. Both of the Burnette Brothers turned out to be successful amateur boxers, becoming local Golden Gloves champions. In 1949, Dorsey was introduced to another young boxing contender named Paul Burlison by his boxing teacher, Jimmy Denson and they were to become firm friends. Later, Burlison was introduced to Johnny Burnette and they also become firm friends. All three men had a mutual interest in music to which they had had an early introduction to music. Burlison had begun to receive guitar lessons when he was eight years old. In 1939, Dorsey Sr. gave his two sons a pair of Gene Autry guitars. According to most sources, each brothers immediately broke them over the other's head.[citation needed] Dorsey Sr. doggedly bought them two more guitars. Dorsey later recalled that their father had said, "Learn to play those guitars. You can be like those folks on the Grand Ole Opry if you want to ……." Dorsey said that "he learned the G, C and E chords and when the strings broke, he would use bailing wire".[citation needed]
(There Was a) Tall Oak Tree
Dorsey Burnette
There was a tall oak tree
That loved a babblin? brook,
And the babblin? brook
loved the mountain high,
Anf the mountain high
Loved the sky above.
The Creator looked down
And saw everything was love, love, love.
No, he took a bone
And a piece of mud --
He made a man and a woman
To be flesh and blood.
And then along came the devil
Up out of the ground --
He tempted the woman,
And that spread sin all round, all round, all round.
Now, if shed left that apple
On that apple tree,
Thered be no tears or sorrow,
Wed live eternally.
And then along came Man
And chopped the oak tree down
And now the babblin? brook
Is solid ground.
And now the mountain high
Dont stand so high,
And theres a cloud of smoke
That covers up the clear blue sky.
There was a tall oak tree,
There was a tall oak tree,

Nine one, 27th Avenue
Walked up to the door
Hello, sir, how are you
No, I'm just looking for a
Friend living in Apartment 10
You say she's gone
Please, how long has it been
(CHORUS)
It's a big, big city
It's a big, big world
How's a boy gonna find
A little pretty girl
In this big, big world
Going out to
Find myself a telephone
Got a pocketful of dimes
I know her last name is Jones
Joneses, Joneses
Oh, I see, pages 19 to 23
Big, big world can be unkind
The phone just took my last dime
(CHORUS)
Well, I think we oughta go steady
Whenever you're ready, let's fall in love
Well, I believe your lips were meant for me to kiss
On a cozy night like this, let's fall in love
Look, there's a moon shining right in that sky above us
Well, you know darn well I love you baby
I love you baby and I don't mean maybe
Well, I think we oughta see the preacher tonight
Let's do everything up right, let's fall in love
Well, I believe your lips were meant for me to kiss
On a cozy night like this, let's fall in love
Oh baby, I believe your lips were meant for mine
But baby, just any ol' time, let's fall in love
Well, let's build a cottage just for two
Honey baby, just me and you
We will raise a family
A boy for you and a girl for me
Well, I think we oughta see the preacher tonight
Let's do everything up right, let's fall in love
Let's fall in love
Let's fall in love
Hey, little one
So far from home
And all alone
Hey, little one
I'm just like you
I'm lonely too
The road of life is
A long, long road
When you walk alone
Then I found you
And I found a love
A love I've never known
A love I've never known
Hey, little one
Don't go away
Tell me you'll stay
Tell me you'll stay
