The lasting cultural impact of V for Vendetta is discussed by its co-creator David Lloyd. DAVID DESIGNED THE V MASK and the look of the V character after rejecting the first incarnation which was meant to resemble a French Gendarme policeman. Along with writer Alan Moore and David as the artist for the book they created a modern cultural and design Icon back in the 1980s for the British magazine WARRIOR. In the video David highlights V for Vendetta's encroachment into popular culture and the media . He likens it to the Che Guevara photograph. A photo, that became t-shirt graphic art ,which has now become a sort of short hand for "counter culture" of all kinds. That is what has happened to the V Mask. The Mask is now being worn at Halloween joining the ranks of other traditional Halloween characters. And at bonfire night ( 5th November ).
