Lindo. Simplesmente lindo. Não sei se gosto mais da letra, do vídeo ou da música. Geração 80 e Aline. Estão demais. Beautiful. Simply beautiful. I don't know what I like more...the video, the song or the lyrics themselves. Geração 80 and Aline outdid themselves here.
Here is someone who truly loves spring. Solange has premiered a mini music video for her song entitled "Locked in Closets" which was lifted off 2012 "True [EP]." It's frequently said that Angola and Mozambique have similar political and social realities. We both had socialist regimes, we both suffered a debilitating civil war, and we both have issues when dealing with the basic tenants of a democratic state, such as freedom of expression, freedom of assembly and human rights. This is precisely the topic of Azagaia's first single since signing for Kongoloti Records: “MIR - Música de Intervenção Rápida” (Rapid Intervention Music) is the song Azagaia wrote after the last demonstration of the veterans of war that was brutally ended by the mozambican police. The [...]
Yes. This just got me super excited! Bondax , the young UK duo famous for their innovative hits like "Baby I Got That" and "Gold" recently did a podcast for XLR8R that included this very nice unreleased remix of the Blackstreet classic, "No Diggity." It's definitely a refreshing interpretation of the original. Tune in below and download the full podcast further down.

Photos and words by Ethan Shvartzman After working and touring their asses off - opening for Muse, Garbage and others, locals Dead Sara headlined the El Rey Theatre. The band set the venue ablaze with a larger-than-life, in-your-face set which included an incredible cover of Rage Against the Machine's "Killing in the Name." The show was sold out (of course) and was packed with a sweaty crowd who danced, rocked, and moshed. All the while, leader singer Emily Armstrong felt as if she were flying over our heads like a rock goddess, supported by her [...]
A psychodellic[sic], abstract trip through the disjointed, frantic style of Eric Sall's latest works is not for the straighthead. The frenzied strokes melt into cloud of chaos, yellow curtains pull back to reveal a frenzy of brush strokes and paint drips, and a blue-grey fog ascends into puffy clouds of Prozac. The alternating lines of color connect ideas and then melt into each other-and then into the surrounding environment. Let the eye-catching colors and bold lines pull in with their mystique and keep you staring blankly at your Retina display for hours instead of working. Turn on, tune [...]

DFA RECORDS is one of the most well respected labels in the world. Some of the biggest dance artists around today have come out of DFA and if it wasn't for the creation of the label, we almost certainly wouldn't have discovered LCD SOUNDSYSTEM , YACHT , HOT CHIP , THE RAPTURE , HOLY GHOST! and THE JUAN MACLEAN . That is because without DFA many of these artists wouldn't exist at all. The birth of the label arose when [...]
Brooklyn eight piece SHARON JONES AND THE DAP-KINGS are best recognised for their big sound infused with a combination of soul and funk elements. They released their debut record Dap Dippin' With Sharon Jones And The Dap-Kings in 2002, and have since released an extra three full length records. With that in mind, August will see the fifth installment as the group will be releasing their new album, Give The People What They Want ! A title very attuned to the band, it celebrates the shared appreciation from both the audience and the [...]
In 2010, Fitz And The Tantrums made their debut album with Pickin’ Up The Pieces. Whether the modern R&B; album went triple platinum is inconsequential. Storming songs like “MoneyGrabber” put the band on Leno, Kimmel and Conan, and the soulful sound and fashion-forward sight of singer/songwriter Michael Fitzpatrick—with backing vocalist pal Noelle Scaggs and Fitz’s [...]

The cubist, robo-humanoids and drastic shifts in perspective and scale rip apart the human element that is the subject of Mernet Larson's paintings. There are little details such as an ice cream Sunday or a spilled cup of coffee help massage some realism into clinical cubes and her use of texture adds some humanity to the block people-which is a fresh way to depict the human form. [...]
After a slight hiatus the DIEMON emcee/producer Russ is back with some new visuals off his upcoming album, The Edge . The Atlanta artist latest, "Yung Pacino," is only about a minute and a half, flexin’ his style with the vintage mafioso visuals theme. The self-produced track is the first we have heard from the DIEMON representative in a bit, hope more is to come in the near future. Russ on Twitter DIEMON Official [...]
Jonah Freeman and Justin Lowe created a disturbing yet intriguing view what they would describe as art. The haunting results in an acclaimed environmental installation of meth labs and the creation of dark, sinister, real collage pieces. The lighting and the captures of not only the results of a bad things going wrong but the story of the connection of a new drug verses it hallucinogenic processor. The rebellion of one culture is the motivation and the drivers of is reciprocal. Click here to view the embedded video. [...]
How we missed this in our in-box (from way back in March) is beyond us, but miss it we did. We need to right that wrong! Black Manila have featured a few times on MM with their blend of classic west coast garage riffs, Detroit proto-punk and British charm, that combined makes a heady and compelling marriage. To celebrate the recent release of their debut single Shake That Thing , they are giving away the infectious and addictive Père Lachaise as a free download. For anyone enthralled by the [...]
