Sorry I missed the first few seconds of the start of the parade, I was fumbling around trying to replace the battery, memory card and mount my camera on the tripod. Next year I'll try to have a dedicated video camera so I won't have to share on camera to take pictures and video.

First time ever fursuiting...
This won't be your typical, bouncy and crazy fursuit video. (Coming... *laughs*)
I long ago made the decision that the first time I suited up as Spazz, it would be introducing him to my 3yr old. The idea was to sit still, like a big plushie and see if he would approach. His quick decision that the suit is awesome causes me to change my tactics... I try and remain calm throughout as NORMALLY he has always been scared of mascots - especially ones that flail around. I am completely thrown off by his unexpected reaction.
All in all a success and no trauma caused to his young mind.

Disturbia Wolf - Getting into the Fursuit
So what is it like putting on a fursuit or mascot costume? This video shows all the steps I take to get into my critter 'Disturbia Wolf'. For the most part people will have a handler while putting their critter on, but I go it alone in this video.
The old video had 17,000 views but I decided to make this again, because the old video was taken with my crappy point and shoot and I wanted to update this with something that was taken with my DSLR.
I am also on Furaffinity @ http://www.furaffinity.net/user/disturbiawolf
FAQ's to questions I will tell you to 'Read description'
1. Who built your suit? - Disturbia Wolf was built by LatinVixen @ www.mixedcandy.com. The effort that was put into him by them was outstanding and am very proud to be the owner of this costume.
2. How much did this cost? - Not answering that question, fursuit characters are personal characters and each comission is different. The answer to this is, get a reference sheet, go get a quote and see for yourself. For a costume like this expect to pay between $2000-3500usd
3. What happens if you need to go to the toilet? - You tend to sweat out any bodily fluids while in suit so you tend not to.
4. What is the point in this? - Fun
5. Does it get hot? - Yes, incredibly. The temperature inside a fursuit head can be as much as 40C/105F. Taking regular breaks and building up a resistance to the heat are key to fursuiting.
Questions answered in the video
1. Why is the zipper in the back, is it difficult to get into? - Not all critters like these have zips in the back, my critter has abdomanal padding, so the zip is in the back. With a bit of practise this costume is easy to get into, but for a first timer you might need someone with you.
2. How is the tail kept on? - I have a belt to keep my tail on. Not all costumes at the same, some tails might be attatched to the costume already, this is especially true with alot of Husky costumes. You should never pull the tail, as it is very delicate.
3. Is the wear comfortable? - Despite Disturbia Wolf being incredibly warm to wear, he is very comfortable, the head is built on a balaclava and fits incredibly snug to your head. The only constraint of this critter is the upper abdomanal padding. If you are a first time fursuiter, I would highly recommend you get a costume with no special padding.
4. What is this underarmour stuff you have on? - It's a material I wear to take away the heat and sweat from my body, it keeps you cool while in suit and keeps sweat off of the costume.
5. Dryer sheets? - They are used to keep the head fresh and stop the inside of your head going mouldy.

Fursuit challenge: Husky
SOLD
I had issued myself this challenge twice in the past, to test both skill and endurance, to see if I could produce a fully detailed top quality piece in under 24 hours. the first time I accepted was about 2 years ago, resultign in 18 hours of work and a rather simply designed black and white mask with basic following eyes. The second time I had failed, stopping at 6 a.m. and resting, resuming past the 24 hour mark.
This time though was a resounding sucess and by far one of the coolest canine heads I have ever created. Prior to the challenge the day before I created those pieces I knew that would make the challenge void unless created prior to the start date. Those pieces are:
LED resin following eyes
Hand cast resin teeth, hand painted
hand cast latex nose and tongue
balaclava hood
(all seen here: http://www.sharpe19.deviantart.com/#/d4rkco4 )
I started 11a.m. yesterday afternoon via livestream and finished exactly 12 hours and 2 minutes later with some caffeine to burn and had the itchin to make a tail as well. I had never made a husky tail or any sort of curved tail but was willing to try. Drew up the pattern, cut out the fur, stitched it, stuffed it.... This truly was one of those suits that sort of, well, had everything just fall into place.
I can say it was quite invigorating to take this challenge but got reminded why makers don't push themselves so hard each time. It was taxing upon the mind and body both and I can easily say I burned myself out pretty good. I met my mark though as this fella is one of my best yet, I satisfied my curly tail cravings, and I'm ready to see what the next challenge my bring.

Public mall fursuit outing in downtown Bothell Part 1 of 2
Got together with a few friends and invaded the downtown area of Bothell, Washington in fursuit. It's really a neat little area with a few blocks of strip-mall type stores and a real at-home community feel. It was a blast to get out there and our reception was great! One of the great things about walking around downtown Bothell is the number of props to mess around with, from hand-painted wood carvings that look like people to rocks that have very furry-looking plaques on them.
We put quite a few smiles on people's faces that afternoon and got more than a few quizzical looks and car horns alike but it was great to spread some furry cheer on what was a fairly gloomy and rainy day. This was our first time in suit in our hometown and something we'd love to do again!
Featuring in suit: Kijani Lion, Ithabise, Scout Fox (Drewfus T. Fox)
Stores Visited: (spread across both videos)
Mills Music
Main Street Ale House
Blooming Nails and Spa
Countryside Donut House
Hillcrest Bakery
About a year ago when I first entered the furry fandom I watched a lot of public fursuiting videos on Youtube like this one and they always brought a smile to my face and were very inspiring to me as a future suiter. Now it feels good to be able to contribute some of my own!

SmikKet Fursuit Suit Up
This is a suit up of my custom made suit, a Jackal. It took me roughly 5 months to do on a very small budget. I'd say about $300. But hey, I'm proud of it. Any questions feel free to comment or inbox.

Anthrocon 2010 Fursuit Parade (Pt 1 of 2)
!!PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION BEFORE POSTING ANY QUESTIONS!!
Fursuit Parade during Saturday of Anthrocon 2010. Located in Pittsburgh, PA, USA. I only posted the video because it didn't seem like anyone else had a very good copy of this uploaded. I actually don't know anything about the furry lifestyle. I won't be able to answer any specific questions about it. If you do post a question in your comment, maybe someone else will be nice enough to answer it. Otherwise, check out the event's website.
