Toru Hashimoto, the controversial Mayor of Osaka, Japan made even more enemies this week after defending Japan's controversial "comfort women" system. During World War II, nearly 200,000 women from Japanese occupied territories were forced into prostitution as "comfort women". According to Osaka Mayor Toru Hashimoto, these sex slaves were necessary for the soldiers to "maintain discipline". If you want them to have a rest in such a situation, a comfort women system is necessary. Anyone can understand that." The co-leader of the opposition Japan Restoration Party made a lame attempt at redeeming his statements by saying Japan should now "politely offer kind words to [former] comfort women." - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - FOR FUNNY TAIWANESE ANIMATIONS IN ENGLISH, GO TO: http://www.youtube.com/subscription_c... Angelina Jolie has Preventative Mastectomy, CIA agent Arrested in Moscow, Minessota Gay Marriage

  • Updated: 14 May 2013
Today in the News: - Angelina Jolie Reveals She Had Preventative Double Mastectomy - A CIA agent is intercepted in Moscow - Minnesota governor to sign bill allowing gay marriage The Oscar-winning actress, Angelina Jolie, reveals in an emotional op-ed for the New York Times, that she underwent a double mastectomy earlier this year after a blood test showed she was genetically susceptible to cancer. Tests has revealed that she carries the gene BRCA1, which drastically increases risk of developing breast cancer and ovarian cancer. The 37-year-old mother of six says her decision was triggered in part by the death of her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, who passed away from cancer at the age of 56. Over the course of three months, beginning in February and ending in late April, Jolie went through a series of medical procedures to have her breasts removed and then reconstructed. By undergoing this procedure, "the chance of developing breast cancer has dropped from 87 percent to under 5 percent". Ladies I wish you all health out there, and even more so the strength and courage of Angelina Jolie, who took her fate into her own hands. An alleged CIA agent has been briefly detained in Moscow for allegedly trying to recruit a Russian intelligence officer, Russian media report. The alleged agent was held overnight before released to US officials, Russia's Federal Security Service said. He is said to have been working as a secretary at the US embassy in Moscow. He was named as Ryan Fogle, said to be a third secretary at the US embassy in Moscow. There is no comment from the embassy. He was reportedly arrested with a large sum of money, technical devices and written instructions for the agent he had tried to recruit. Well you can'y blame the US for trying...I just wonder what presidents do when something like this happens. Does Obama have to give Putin a courtesy call and apologize? Minnesota is set to become the first state in the Midwest to legalize gay marriage by legislative vote, and the third nationwide in just 10 days, joining Rhode Island and Delaware. Thousands of gay marriage supporters waiting at the Capitol erupted into celebrations after the Senate's 37-30 vote. The gay marriage issue shifted quickly in Minnesota, with the Legislature's vote coming a little more than six months after voters defeated an amendment that would have banned gay marriage in the state constitution.
