On July 26, 2013 Leek Pipe Organ Company staff successfully brokered, moved and installed a Moller Pipe Organ Practice Instrument from Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio into the personal residence and music room of Organist Mr. John Parsons in Plantsville, Connecticut. In this video Mr. Parsons speaks of his experience of engaging Leek Pipe Organ Company services for this purpose. "I started playing in the 9th grade on a 1921 Austin, most of which had been reworked from a 1901 Steer & Turner. I did under graduate work at Alma college in Michigan -- the organ then was a transplanted Hinners donated to the college. Much of my time was spent keeping the baling wire between the magnets and the tracker pulldowns working -- they broke often. After service in the Army (you could follow my postings by the rewired Hammonds I left behind,) I attended the School of Sacred Music at Union Theological Seminary where I studied with Alec Wyton. At the Seminary, James Tower had two or three Artistes that we practiced on. I was a full-time organist until the Church I was with cut back, so I ended up in the family car business. Music is in my blood, however, and I became the Minister of Music of the First Congregational Church of Southington, CT in 1980. Part-time -- still there 33 years later. When I began, the Church had a small Allen which was replaced in 1998 with a Walker digital instrument. Not pipes, but a lot closer than many other manufacturers. I am a member of the Hartford CT chapter of the AGO, as well as the Waterbury chapter. I'm also a member of the OHS. I held off committing myself for a couple of days, as there were four organ firms on display at the Region 1 convention. Neither Austin, Andover or Odell had anything that would fit the space that I have, and while Rodgers and Johannus had some 2 manual instruments that would, my wife and I would really prefer pipes."
