Report By Fakhar Kakakhel on Kidnaping of Dr.Intekhab Alam .MP4
Intikhab Alam Khan (Urdu: انتخاب عالم خان) (born 28 December 1941) is a retired Pakistani cricketer who played in 47 Tests and 4 ODIs from 1959 to 1977. He also played in English county cricket for Surrey between 1969 and 1981.
Intikhab was Pakistan's first One Day International cricket captain. He played 3 matches as captain, winning two and losing one. He was the coach in 1992 Cricket World Cup winning Pakistani team.
In 2004, he was appointed as the first foreigner to coach a domestic Indian cricket team, coaching Punjab, in the Ranji Trophy.
On 25 October 2008, he was named as national coach of the Pakistan cricket team by PCB, a day after Australian Geoff Lawson was sacked as the national coach of Pakistan.
In 2009, Intikhab led Pakistan to their first Twenty20 World Cup title by defeating Sri Lanka in the final.
Sarfraz Nawaz Malik (Punjabi, Urdu: سرفراز نواز ملک) (born 1 December 1948, Lahore, Punjab) is a former Pakistani Test cricketer and politician who discovered reverse swing and was instrumental in Pakistan's first Test series victories over India and England. Between 1969 and 1984 he played 55 Tests and 45 One Day Internationals and was Imran Khan's regular new ball partner. In 1978–79 he took 9/86 against Australia at Melbourne, including a spell of 7/1 off 33 balls when they were 77 runs short of victory, but in the next Test at Perth Sarfraz controversially dismissed the Australian batsman Andrew Hilditch for handling the ball.
Davenell Frederick Whatmore (born 16 March 1954, Colombo, Sri Lanka) is a former international cricketer who represented Australia. He had a very short international career from March 1979 to January 1980 in which he played just seven Test matches and one One Day International. At first-class level, he scored over 6,000 runs for Victoria.
Whatmore was born in Ceylon (now known as Sri Lanka) and was educated at Royal Preparatory College, Colombo. He and his family migrated to Australia in 1962.Thereafter he lived in Mentone, a suburb of Melbourne and studied at Mentone Grammar School.
Whatmore retired from professional cricket in 1988/89 to pursue a career in coaching. He coached Sri Lanka in two separate spells, during the first of which he won the 1996 Cricket World Cup. In between those spells, he coached Lancashire where he won the National League in 1998 and 1999, and the NatWest Trophy in 1998.
From 2003 to 2007, he had been coaching Bangladesh. Under his coaching, Bangladesh enjoyed relative success, coming from a side that could rarely win matches at all, to a team that can occasionally surprise even the most powerful cricket countries. Whatmore coached them to their first Test match victory early in 2005. Bangladesh shocked the cricket world later that year with a victory over then top ranked Australia and then South Africa when they were top ranked during the 2007 World Cup, where they also defeated India to reach the Super 8 stage. Whatmore announced his resignation from the Bangladeshi team after the conclusion of their matches at the 2007 World Cup. He stayed on until the conclusion of their home series against India on May 29.
Tanveer Ahmed (Urdu: تنویر احمد; born on April 15, 1972) is a Pakistani footballer, who is the former captain of WAPDA FC. He is also the former captain of Pakistan national football team. A mainstay in the national team, the experienced defender has played in many tournaments since his first call up.
Ahmed is a central defender who has been playing for WAPDA FC since he transferred there in 2002 season. He is also a useful right back. Ahmed started his career at CMF FC where his defensive ability was brought to attention and soon was called up to the national team.
When Ahmed moved to WAPDA FC, he was given the captaincy and won the National Championship in 2003. In the new Pakistan Premier League in 2004, WAPDA were one of the favourites to win the title, but it took until the final day of the season before they were crowned champions. They lost the PPL the following year.
He also captained Lahore Lajpaals F.C. in the inaugural Geo Super Football League 2007 in defence where he was a semi-finalist with the team.
