Remembering Arthur Marx. Tribute to Randy Wood.
What Was Groucho Really Like? Groucho's only son, Arthur Marx talks about his father. Like many comedians, Groucho was not a particularly happy man in his private life. Also hear the story of Randy Wood, founder of Dot Records, who used white singers to make covers of songs by black artists.

GROUCHO SON GIVES HUMIDOR TO ACTOR FRANK FERRANTE
Groucho Marx's son Arthur Marx presents actor Frank Ferrante star of "Groucho: A Life in Revue" a cigar humidor belonging to Groucho at the curtain call of the performance written by the younger Marx and Robert Fisher. The 1999 performance was staged at the Westport Country Playhouse where it was taped for PBS for a 2001 national broadcast . Original show premiered in New York and London starring Ferrante during the 1986-87 season. It ran 254 performances in New York and was nominated for three Laurence Olivier Awards in London. The New York Times picked the tv version as a 'highlight' in 2002. The humidor is a Dunhill that Groucho Marx used from the 1930's until his death in 1977. MISS LONDON LTD (1943) Full Movie starring Arthur Askey and Evelyn Dall
Thanks for watching! Check out some information about this film below or visit my website www.amazing-movies.net to help me keep posting more amazing films to YouTube. Thanks!! Miss London Ltd. is a 1943 British, black-and-white, comedy, musical, war film, directed by Val Guest and starring Ronald Shiner as Sailor Meredith and Arthur Askey as Arthur Bowden.[1] It was produced by Edward Black, Maurice Ostrer, Fred Gunn and Gainsborough Pictures. This musical comedy stars Arthur Askey as Arthur Bowden, the head of an escort agency in wartime London. He is assisted in this role by Evelyn Dall and soon has railway clerk Anne Shelton on the books. The opening sequence of the film features the latter singing "The 8.50 Choo Choo For Waterloo Choo" at Waterloo Station before she is recruited by Bowman for his agency. As usual, Ronald Shiner's character (Sailor Meredith) plays a decisive role. The film is notable for a surreal self parodying sequence in which Bowman, to gain entrance to a hotel, pretends to be the famous Arthur Askey, using some of his choice catchphrases. Other spoofs include Askey and Dall doing a routine as Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers and, with Shiner in addition, as the three Marx Brothers.

You Bet Your Life: Secret Word - Book / Dress / Tree
Julius Henry "Groucho" Marx (October 2, 1890 -- August 19, 1977) was an American comedian and film and television star. He is known as a master of quick wit and widely considered one of the best comedians of the modern era. His rapid-fire, often impromptu delivery of innuendo-laden patter earned him many admirers and imitators. He made 13 feature films with his siblings the Marx Brothers, of whom he was the third-born. He also had a successful solo career, most notably as the host of the radio and television game show You Bet Your Life. His distinctive appearance, carried over from his days in vaudeville, included quirks such as an exaggerated stooped posture, glasses, cigar, and a thick greasepaint mustache and eyebrows. These exaggerated features resulted in the creation of one of the world's most ubiquitous and recognizable novelty disguises, known as "Groucho glasses", a one-piece mask consisting of horn-rimmed glasses, large plastic nose, bushy eyebrows and mustache. Groucho Marx was, and is, the most recognizable and well-known of the Marx Brothers. Groucho-like characters and references have appeared in popular culture both during and after his life, some aimed at audiences who may never have seen a Marx Brothers movie. Groucho's trademark eye glasses, nose, mustache, and cigar have become icons of comedy—glasses with fake noses and mustaches (referred to as "Groucho glasses", "nose-glasses," and other names) are sold by novelty and costume shops around the world ...
