About the Owners

Shannon Michelle Radke is the face of Cinnaholic. Her passion for animals began in high school after watching PETA’s ‘Meet Your Meat’ video and refusing to dissect in science class. Shortly after high school she switched to a vegetarian diet, enrolled in a veterinary assistant program and worked in the veterinary field for about 3 years. At the age of 23, frustrated and broke, she discovered a passion for baking. At the age of 28 and after years of baking triumphs and failures, she met her husband, transitioned from a vegetarian diet to an all vegan diet, and was offered a once in a lifetime opportunity to turn her passion for baking into her every day dream job.

Florian Radke is the management behind Cinnaholic. Florian finished his BA degree while on tour with his former German-based band, ZSK. He now owns a marketing and advertising company in Berlin as well as a fashion line and has worked closely with animal rights organizations for almost 10 years. Florian has been practicing a vegan diet for 10+ years and counting. He relocated to CA in 2008 after meeting Shannon and now manages all aspects of Cinnaholic.

How It All Came Together

Florian and Shannon met on Couchsurfing.com in September 2008. Shannon offered to meet up with random travelers with common interests, take them on a tour of SF, give them local tips and explain the cities surroundings. Florian and his best friend were planning a CA west coast surfing trip and “couch surfing” their way up the coast. Florian found Shannon in a ‘vegans and vegetarians’ group. They connected online and agreed to meet up for drinks when he got to SF. 2 months later they met face to face, and the rest was history. She fell in love with his accent, he fell in love with her baking, and with a little help from friends and family, Cinnaholic was born.
