JURASSIC WORLD To Include Original Character Subscribe Now! ► http://bit.ly/SubClevverMovies As production is about to begin on the fourth installment of the Jurassic Park franchise, director Colin Trevorrow opens up about some recent casting rumors, reveals the return of a classic character and shares some details on what we can expect from JURASSIC WORLD. Talking with IGN, Trevorrow took the opportunity to clear up some recent rumors that we would see original cast members Sam Neill, Laura Dern or Jeff Goldblum return explaining quote, "I know a lot of fans want to see the original characters back. They're iconic. But I respect those actors too much to shoehorn them into this story for my own sentimental reasons. Jurassic Park isn't about the bad luck of three people who keep getting thrown into the same situation. The only reason they'd go back to that island is if the screenwriters contrived a reason for them to go." Definitely disappointing news for fans of the original that were hoping to see some of their favorite characters return, but it sounds like Trevorrow is putting story ahead of sentimentality. But that doesn't mean there won't be any original cast members returning. Trevorrow revealed that actor BD Wong, who played "Dr. Henry Wu" in the first film will reprise his role in Jurassic World explaining the character had a much larger role in the original novel, having been the engineer who made it possible to create the dinosaurs, and they felt there was more to his story that needed to be explored. In addition to Dr. Wu's return, Trevorrow also revealed that the reason the film was moved from its original 2014 release date to June 12th, 2015 was in order to get the script right and allow it to feel authentic. He explained that Steven Spielberg, who of course directed the first two films and is producing the new film, was the one who made the call and convinced the studio to make the change. When Jurassic World does arrive next summer, Trevorrow promises an immersive experience saying they've decided to shoot the film in 35 and 65mm at a 2 to 1 aspect ratio -- something that hasn't been done theatrically in a long time. He says the decision was made in order to allow enough height to fit humans and dinosaurs into a single frame without losing the sense of scope and compares it to the ratio that digital Imax screens use. Though the film won't be shot in Imax, he promises the film will look great on large format screens and thinks other filmmakers will begin using the same aspect ratio after they see how it looks. As for new cast members Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, he describes Pratt as a man who can get you through the jungle, but is an expert in a certain scientific field that will play out in the story. As for Howard, he describes her character as very corporate and controlled -- the perfect contrast to Pratt's more lighthearted nature.
