I uploaded this video before, but somehow my computer crashed.... anyway, I wanted to include more scenes, but that would take to long to render and aupload on youtube. I'm a little disappointed, that they didn't include Jane's confession about Anne/ George Boleyn's trial. Six Wives of Henry VIII - Katherine Howard
Angela Pleasance & Keith Michell star in the fifth episode, following the rise and fall of Katherine Howard. Pleasance gives a very interesting portrayal of Katherine. She has often been portrayed as a silly foolish girl, however this series floats her between a scheming temptress, and borderline insanity. We do not know, in reality, if a sexual relationship occurred between Culpepper and Howard, as neither of them confessed to any guilt. The idea that Katherine was slightly deranged certainly fits in this instance, knowing the penalties carried out with her Cousin, Anne Boleyn. History paints a rather different story of Katherine. It is an interesting portrayal never the less. I own nothing, no copyright infringement intended! Hope you enjoy!

Catherine was stripped of her title as queen on November 23 and imprisoned in Syon House, Middlesex, through the winter of 1541. Culpeper and Dereham were executed at Tyburn on December 10, 1541 — the former beheaded, the latter hanged, drawn and quartered — for treasonous conduct.] As was customary, their heads were placed atop London Bridge. Catherine's relatives were also detained in the Tower, except her uncle Thomas, Duke of Norfolk, who had sufficiently detached himself from the scandal. All of the Howard prisoners were tried, found guilty of concealing treason, and sentenced to life imprisonment and forfeiture of goods. In time, however, they were released with their goods restored. Catherine herself remained in suspension until Parliament passed a bill of attainder, on 21 January 1542, that made the intent to commit treason punishable by death. This solved the matter of Catherine's supposed precontract and made her unequivocally guilty, as adultery by a queen was de facto treason. Catherine was taken to the Tower of London on February 10, 1542. On February 11, Henry signed the bill of attainder into law, and Catherine's execution was scheduled for 7 am on February 13. The night before her execution, Catherine is said to have spent many hours practising how to lay her head upon the block. She died with relative composure but looked pale and terrified, and she required assistance to climb the scaffold. She made a speech describing her punishment as "worthy and just ...

When beheaded at the Tower of London in 1542, for premarital sexual activity and alleged marital infidelity, Henry VIIIs rose without a thorn was nothing more than the victim of circumstance. Besides, her status as Hampton Court Palaces most important ex-wife is secured by the fact that according to some people at least her ghost is still there! In 2009 Hampton Court Palace will be home to rarely seen 16th-century portraits of each of the women in Henry VIII's life mother, sisters daughters and wives - and will be joined by evocative objects intimately connected to their fate.
