Chitrangada Singh is busy with a movie for which she is learning Urdu as well as some classical Kathak moves, leading to speculation that she may be featuring in director Sudhir Mishra’s film based in Lucknow. “I am doing a workshop right now for my next film,” the 37-year-old actress said. “I am taking diction classes for Hindi and Urdu. Besides, I am also taking dance classes and learning Kathak,” she added.
Tight-lipped on any further details, Chitrangada said, “The film has not been announced yet. The producers will announce it when they want to.” Buzz is that the film in question is Mehrunnisa, to be directed by Sudhir Mishra and starring
Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor. In the past, the actress has starred in all of Mishra’s films, from
Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi to
Yeh Saali Zindagiand
Inkaar. However, Mishra continues to dodge questions about Chitrangada. “I’m neither denying nor confirming anything. I’ve been forbidden by my producers to divulge anything. There are a lot of stories about Mehrunnisa being spread. Chitrangada may be taking Urdu and Kathak classes, but I don’t know anything about it. I can’t tell you anything.”
