Dominic Inglot

Dominic Inglot (born 6 March 1986) is a British professional tennis player who specialises in playing doubles. He has made the final of eight ATP Challenger Tour Events winning five of them, and has made the final of three ATP Tour events at the U.S. Men's Clay Court Championships and Swiss Indoors, winning the Citi Open partnering Treat Conrad Huey. He is the current British No. 2 in doubles. Also known as 'Dom the Bomb' due to having one of the biggest serves in the game.

Inglot made his debut in the Great Britain Davis Cup squad for the 2014 World Group first round tie against the United States. Inglot also played in the 2015 Davis Cup first round tie against the United States, and joined the team for the Final against Belgium, Great Britain winning the Davis Cup in 2015, the nation's first success in the tournament for 79 years. The Davis Cup team was awarded the 2015 BBC Sports Personality Team of the Year Award.

Early and personal life

Dominic Inglot was born in London, England. His parents are Elizabeth and Andrei Inglot, a former professional football player in Poland, and has one younger brother called Alex. He learned to play tennis at St. Benedict's School and at the University of Virginia. As a Junior he represented Middlesex County as well as on the international stage with England and Great Britain. In school, he played volleyball and was captain of the London Volleyball team, He also received honours in academics in 2001–02.

Davis Cup

The Davis Cup is the premier international team event in men's tennis. It is run by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and is contested annually between teams from competing countries in a knock-out format. It is described by the organisers as the "World Cup of Tennis", and the winners are referred to as the World Champion team. The competition began in 1900 as a challenge between Great Britain and the United States. By 2016, 130 nations entered teams into the competition. The most successful countries over the history of the tournament are the United States (winning 32 tournaments and finishing as runners-up 29 times) and Australia (winning 28 times, including four occasions with New Zealand as Australasia, and finishing as runners-up 19 times). The present champions are Great Britain who beat Belgium to win the title for the 10th time in 2015. It was Great Britain's first title in 79 years, and first in the open era. The win moved Great Britain to third on the all time winners list.

Andy Murray

Andrew Barron "Andy" Murray OBE (born 15 May 1987) is a Scottish professional tennis player, currently ranked World No. 2. He started playing tennis at the age of three, entered his first competitive tournament at age five and was playing league tennis by the time he was eight. He has reached at least the quarter-finals of all Grand Slam tournaments he has participated in since 2011, with the exception of the 2015 US Open. When he was 15, he moved to Barcelona to train at the Sánchez-Casal Academy. He won the junior US Open in 2004 and turned professional the following year. Murray has been ranked as British No. 1 since 27 February 2006. He achieved a top-10 ranking by the ATP for the first time on 16 April 2007, and reached a career peak of World No. 2 on 17 August 2009.

Jamie Murray

Jamie Robert Murray (born 13 February 1986) is a Scottish professional tennis player who specialises in doubles and is Britain's No. 1 doubles player. Murray is the elder brother of Britain's No. 1 singles tennis player Andy Murray. In February 2016, Jamie became the Doubles World No 2, while Andy was the Singles World No 2.

He has won two grand slam titles; he won the mixed doubles title at the 2007 Wimbledon Championships with Jelena Janković and the men's doubles title at the 2016 Australian Open with Bruno Soares. Murray had an early career partnership with Eric Butorac, winning three titles in 2007. Having split with Butorac at the end of 2007, Murray subsequently played with a large number of players: his seven subsequent ATP finals came with six different partners. In 2013, he began a new partnership with John Peers, winning six ATP tournaments, and reaching three Grand Slam men's doubles finals as of January 2016. Two of his titles have also come when playing with his brother Andy. In 2015, Murray became the first British man to reach the US Open men's doubles final since Roger Taylor in 1972.
