SEA EAGLE Methil, Fife, Released into the wild 4/9/2011
A new batch of 16 young sea eagles has been released in Fife as part of ongoing efforts to reintroduce them across Scotland. The white-tailed sea eagles, released from a secret location, are the UK''s largest bird of prey. They were reared until they were old enough to fledge, after arriving from Norway in June. The eagles have been raised in specially built aviaries on a diet of grey squirrel, roe deer and haddock. The East Scotland Sea Eagle reintroduction scheme is run by RSPB Scotland, Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) and Forestry Commission Scotland. Since the sea eagle reintroduction initiative began in 2007, a total of 80 birds have been released on the east coast of the country. With a wing span of 8ft, the white-tailed sea eagle is the UK''s largest bird of prey. It was completely wiped out in Britain in the early 20th Century and only returned when a reintroduction programme began on the island of Rum in 1975.

The demise of the Scottish deer herds? Watch out Rum
Further footage of the Deer Commissions Hind cull in Glenshee. The deer carcases hang below, some of the few shot on this day. Here the helicopter picks up a shooter. Once the shooters are gathered, they regroup and are flowen back out to the herd to start again. If Scottish Natural Heritage get their way, this will happen on the island of Rum in late 2007 /2008.

Scottish Wind Farm --- Glendevon -- Green knowes
The Scottish Executive has upped its target and now aims to see 50% of the country's electricity coming from renewable sources by 2020, up from a previous target of 40%. There is currently enough wind farms, hydro and marine renewable schemes in planning to generate over 26000 megawatts of electricity. Scotlands 2020 target currently stands at around 8000MW which could be more than tripled if all schemes had planning permission approved. Notwithstanding the environmental concerns surrounding a plethora of wind farms; Scottish Natural Heritage has said that the figures show excellent progress is being made towards renewable energy generation in Scotland. ScottishPower Renewables (SPR) Glendevon -- Green knowes The windfarm consists of 18 turbines that can produce up to 27 MW of electricity - enough clean green energy to power over 15000 households. As part of SPRs continued voluntary commitment to the communities surrounding Green Knowes, the company announced the creation of a new community trust fund - administered by Auchterarder & District Community Trust - with the remit of supporting local projects and organisations. Over £12000 will by invested by SPR in this fund each year for the 25-year life of the windfarm. Keith Anderson, ScottishPower Renewables Director, said: "Green Knowes is an excellent location for a windfarm and will make a significant contribution to our expanding wind energy operations as well as helping Scotland to achieve its ambitious green energy ...

Dalriada Film
The Dalriada Project Aims to protect and enhance the cultural and natural heritage and promote access and enjoyment of this incredibly beautiful and valuable area of Scotland. The Dalriada area is an outstanding landscape of international renown. It is the ancient birthplace of the Scottish nation, centred on Dunadd, crowning place of its kings. Here you can see the visible remains of thousands of years of human occupation; we have one of the densest concentrations of archaeological monuments of anywhere in Scotland and the highest concentration of prehistoric rock art in Europe! There is also a diverse natural history of wildlife habitats and unique landscapes including Atlantic woodlands, stunningly beautiful coastlines, mires and hills. Dalriada also contains a living monument to our industrial heritage, the Crinan Canal, which continues to work its way through the landscape.

Tentsmuir Forest, beach and seals.
Apologies for the moving black lines at the cam- corder part of this video. You tube asked to improve the video because there were shaky parts but although the shakyness is resolved the surrounding black lines move . 8000BC: The first people arrive in the area during the Mesolithic era. Hunter-gatherers live in the area for at least 1000 years. They hunt fish and fowl and eat local plants. 424-616: Picts use parts of Tentsmuir as pasture. 843-1054: Vikings explore the area and some settle here. 1055: The earliest mention of a ferry at Ferry-Port-on-Craig. 1057-1093: King Malcolm Canmore introduces rabbits to Tentsmuir & Morton. In Medieval times Scottish kings came here to hunt wild boar, bears and red deer. 1100's: A monk surveys the lands here which belong to St. Andrews Cathedral. He refers to the area as bandit country populated by 'devils, bears and oxen. 1636: Robert Gordon of Straloch produces one of the first maps of the area. Tentsmuir Point was originally called Avirteo Head and Abertay Sands was Drumlat Sands. 1700's: Malaria is eliminated in Scotland. Due to the wet and swampy nature of the area, Morton is one of the last places to be free of the disease. Mid 1780's: Danish fleet is shipwrecked on the coast. Some sailors settle in the area, living in tents on the moor and giving rise to the name 'Tents Moor' 1845: Edinburgh & Northern Railway Company receives permission to build a railway line.
