Chorus:
(4x) Jack Frost nipping at your nose
(sample of Nat King Cole)
I'm sporting trippled down rain gear.
Dumping on flying rain deer
And that overweight queer with the red and white sleeping apparrel.
Sliding down the chimneys but staring down this double barrel.
I'm putting Santa on alphabet i cal med i cal.
It's survival of the fittest as the milineum approaches.
By then the only existing life on Earth is real niggaz and roaches.
But see,
I'm colder than nuclear winters, so concoct the con-tender.
I'm make a nigga change agenda.
Change gender. Change men ta
Feminine. Women in masculine genetalia.
Seasons beatings â'til the next Saturnalia.
Ain't no competing. Defeating all persons in paraphenalia.
Compel me to inhale the aroma.
"I smell.. I smell.. I smell PUSSY!!!"
My nigga could use some heart like a fucking organ donor.
And conflict? Whenever you plan it, I'm a split it like the equator.
My Sanskrit box n' liquid nitrogen strike the mics colder than polar.
I'm like "Wonder Twins Activate!": pimp in the form of icy boulder.
Missed assist sister. Fool, I'll make your scrotum blister.
Fool, if you ready to be the man then I'm a hit ya
Like Baul Mixler: the ideal.
I'm the rhyming Simon Phoenix with that "murder, death, kill."
You got me all fucked up. I'm the abominable flow-man.
Kiss ya ass goodbye. Your record deal was standing under missle toe.
And!! I'm Mandingo. My cultural experiences doesn't include Kris
Kringle.
Celebrating Satan...No, sorry: Santa.
It continues to be a mind boggler
When black people be picking shit off the ground
and eating it like a toddler.
I shoot the gift like Kwanzaa.
That holiday is pagan. 626 like Mazda
And a billion bucks of fuck
That's bringing up the slack in the gross national product.
I guaduct. My mind avalanches expressions
And from papas erection and mama'sC-section.
Before nore plant contraception conception.
The only exception was the emaculate deception.
Cause contrary to what my bereaved mother believes,
Jesus was concieved by a mitocondria weave.
I leave gagreen when I slang these below zero,
So niggaz better bring more "Heat" than Al Pacino and Robert De Niro.
Chorus:
Jack Frost nipping at your nose
(sample of Nat King Cole)
Gollllden State Waaaarrriioooors, come out to pllllaaayyyyyyyy!
Ha haaaaa! Yo. Yes, Yes, Yes.
This goes out, you know, to the West Coast,
All my niggaz on the East Coast,
All my niggaz down South, you know what I'm saying. All them phat Dj's,
All the heads, and all them bitch ass niggaz, you know what I'm saying.
(DJ Rhethmatic Scratching Nas sample from "It Ain't Hard to Tell)
"I'll leave them froze like heroine in ya nose"
Winter is coming
You'd better take care
For then I'm released
All mortals beware
Lock your windows
Bolt all doors
And hope it keeps me out
You better hope some more
Living things wither
Your bones feel my cold
I silently slither
Turning young into old
Bodies lie broken
Brittle from the wind
One moment with me
And frostbite sets in
Nights,they grow longer
When I'm around
Your world is smothered
Under frozen ground
Exposure to me
Brings on certain death
If you don't believe
I remember the time
when I was an man
feeling like born again
a member of your game
and now I'm dying in vain
so silent and grey
and my spirit passed away
these days
life is sad
I feel the pain
and all my days are filled
with rain
[Chorus:]
where's my sleeping past
always with me
night and day
are you sleeping now
because again
I'm going down
my remains burn silently
where nothing grows
funeral haze
and one who cries
day of sores
a weakling's mind
unaware
serpent life
a shadowplay
my remains burning still
where nothing grows
[Chorus:]
from decay
unto sorrow
pass away
into the hollow
it is life's will
things come down on me
you know everyday
I try to leave
how dare you
be part of me
I wish you
get rid of me
it's my mind's dream
to be far away
I'm sentenced to life
in endless grief
[Chorus:]
the one to lose am I
oh how I wish to die
all your pain is mine
until the end of my time
how dare you
belong to me
I'm slave to you
eternally
gates are closing
I can't believe
in my very inside
I feel relief
time to face
the endless night
I am leaving
the room of light
[Chorus:]
the coming of my
judgement day
I am nothing
I have to pay
for a long time
I've been aware
of walking towards a dead end
and now I'm there
and then the sun turned into stone
I close my eyes
to reach home
when you were leaving
to be queen
I started yearning
for some sleep
[L: PHINSTER]
DREAMS BOTHER ME
DYING WAS SO HARD
I HEAR VOICES IN MY HEAD
TELLING ME ALMOST EVERYTHING
THE CLOCK UPON THE WALL
STRIKES THE WITCHING HOUR AGAIN
I AM AWAKE BUT I AM STILL
IN A DREAM
[REF:]
EVERYDAY BRINGS THE SAME OLD PAIN
FROM MY HEART
AND EVERY NIGHT
IT'S JUST THE SAME
THE CLOCK UPON THE WALL
STRIKES THE WITCHING HOUR AGAIN
AND LEADS ME TO A DOOR
INTO ANOTHER WORLD
ANOTHER SLEEPLESS NIGHT
AND ANOTHER RAINY DAY
IT'S DRIVING ME INSANE
in my four walls
I'm alone
all the good things
have gone
and I drink and dream
I'm waiting for the nightfall
because I'm dying
oh I'm dying of crying
over you
now life has changed
I see colours so strange
now my life is just like hell
a walking spirit deadly pale
[Chorus:]
I'm waiting for the nightfall
the end of my days
no more tomorrow
I've missed today
when life makes a change
all the people seem so strange
now my life is just like hell
I'm a walking spirit and I'm
deadly pale
I have to realize my friend
that I've got crazy
and lost control
I realize you've just
made me blind
and I lost love
so farewell my friend
I wish it everyday
to my silent brother
because you're making me
blind so blind
[L: MORALES]
YOU SPIT YOUR MOURNFUL LIFE
RIGHT BETWEEN MY EYES
MY UNSEEN INSANE I
REVEALING MY DISGUISE
[REF:]
AND YOUR WEEPING IN THE NIGHT
WAKES THE SLEEPING DOGS INSIDE
SO I TAKE YOU ON A RIDE
INTO THE ABYSS OF MY MIND
MY UNSEEN INSANE I
REVEALING MY DISGUISE
[REF:]
AND YOUR WEEPING IN THE NIGHT
WAKES THE SLEEPING DOGS INSIDE
I TAKE YOU ON A RIDE
INTO THE ABYSS OF MY MIND
SCREAMIN' HELL I TAKE YOUR LIFE
AND I'LL WEAR BLACK UNTIL I DIE
[L: KEVIN RICH]
IT FEELS AS IF I'M LOSING ME
I RUN AROUND I'VE GONE TO GROUND
I'M NOWHERE
THE WHOLE WORLD KNOWS EXEPT FROM ME
THIS BLOODY THING WILL NEVER BE
IT'S OVER
I'M IN THE NIGHT I SEARCH FOR LIGHT
YOU SEE THE SHADOWS THAT I FIGHT
I'M SOBER
I NEED A SLEEP THAT NEVER ENDS
THIS BLOODY THING WILL NEVER BE
IT'S OVER
[REF:]
LIKE AN ANGEL IN DARKEST SKIES
I FLY AWAY
JUST BE PATIENT AND COME WITH ME
ON A TRIP INTO DARKER SKIES
AND YOU ARE THE MOON
AND EVERY DAY IS A STAR
AND I BELIEVE I'VE NEVER LIED
I'VE KEPT MY TRUTH SO DEEP INSIDE
I'M SOBER
IT WAITS IN PLACES THAT I HIDE
IT SHINES LIKE HATRED IN MY EYES
IT'S OVER
AND MOTHER MARY SLEEPS WITH ME
IS WAITING THERE FOR ME
SHE IS WAVING
AND EVERYONE WHO EVER LIED
TOLD BITTER TRUTH IS DYING
AND IT'S OVER
we started against the tide
we were young and time was flying
we came to see that we're undying
we came to see that we're undying
as we sleep the moon is hiding
while we drink days are crying
how we tried to be undying
how we tried to be undying
[Chorus:]
cold is the rain
we started against the tide
we were young and time was flying
as we sleep the moon is hiding
while we drink days are crying
we came to be undying
we came to be undying
[L: ROSSOS]
DEEP IN MY INNER SELF
BURIED IN ASHES AND STONES
WIND AND RAIN
IN MY SOUL
A FALLEN FAIRY GODMOTHER
IS WAITING FOR THE LIGHT
[REF:]
SO RISE AGAIN
DANCE TO A WALL OF TEARS AND PAIN
RISE UP AGAIN
DANCE TO THE WALL OF TEARS AND PAIN
SHE WILL BE RELEASED
COMING UP
LIKE A GODDESS IN HELL
PLEASE DON'T STOP THE DANCE
BEFORE THE END OF MY TIME
[REF:]
SO RISE AGAIN
DANCE TO A WALL OF TEARS AND PAIN
RISE UP AGAIN
DANCE INTO MY LIFE OF TEARS AND PAIN
[M: THE PRIESTS, L: HARRY HOORTIG]
MY SHIP OF LOVE IS SINKING IN THE RAIN
THE ICY RAIN
THE MAST IS BROKEN AND THE SAILS ARE TORN
TORN BY NAILS
THE CAPTAIN'S ROOM IS BURNING BRIGHT
AND LIGHTS THE SEA
THE CREW HAS LEFT THE DROWNING
SHIP BEHIND
WITHOUT ME
AND NOW I'M DROWNING WITH THE RATS
THE WRECK GOES DOWN AND FURTHER DOWN
AND WHERE NO SHIPBELLS EVER RING
NO HUMAN'S EYE WOULD SEE MY HEADSTONE
IN THE SEA
[REF:]
ON MONDAY LAST MONDAY
DID YOU HEAR MY CALL
CATCH MY FALL
ON MONDAY LAST MONDAY
I NEEDED YOU
MORE THAN YOU COULD KNOW
WHY DID I LEAVE THE HARBOUR WALLS
OF YOUR LOVE
AS I COULD SEE A STORM ARISE
THE WIND SO ROUGH
I THOUGHT MY FUTURE WOULD BE MILES AWAY
FAR FROM YOU
AND NOW THE FORTUNE I WAS TOLD
HAS COME TRUE
AND NOW I'M DROWING IN THE SEA
THE TROUBLED WATER'S KILLING ME
IT TAKES ME DOWN AND FURTHER DOWN
I WISH I WOULD HAVE NEVER LEFT YOU
LIKE A THIEF
[M+L: Ken Hensley]
she came to me one morning
one lonely sunday morning
her long hair flowing in the midwinter wind
I know not how she found me
for in darkness I was walking
destruction lay around me
from a fight I couldn't win
oh lady lend your hand I cried
or let me rest here at your side
have faith and trust in me she said
and filled my heart with life
there is no strength in numbers
have no such misconception
but when you need me be assured
I won't be far away
[L: PHINSTER]
THEY WILL NEVER FIND YOU
YOU'RE IN THE LONELY PLACE
YOU'VE BUILT
THEY WILL NEVER STOP YOU
YOU'RE ON YOUR WAY TO HELL
DRESSED TO CHILL
THEY WILL NEVER TREAT YOU RIGHT
WHEN THEY LOOK INTO YOUR EYES
THEY LIVE THEIR LIVES
THAT YOU NEVER WANT TO LIVE
BUT HOW DOES IT FEEL
[REF:]
TAKE A LOOK BEHIND
ALL THE THINGS YOU'VE NEVER SEEN
RAIN DOWN SO HARD
THEY ALL GET REAL
THEY WILL NEVER FIND YOU
THEY WILL NEVER STOP YOU
THEY WILL NEVER GET YOU
THEY WILL NEVER CHANGE YOUR MIND
BUT HOW DOES IT FEEL
IT MEANS NOTHING TO ME
stone cold breeze
as I walk
in the dawn
eternal sleep
walls they breathe
as I talk
to myself
anguish creeps
[Chorus:]
worship my ashes
when I'm gone
don't let me vanish
into oblivion
my senses bleed
as I see
my body drown in
infinity
stone cold breeze
as I walk
in the dawn
eternal sleep
day by day
in my cold life
I wait
for my last ride
emptiness
for me to bear
beyond
I will be there
it's always me to pay
to false gods I prayed
once again
I entreat you
my mind
is looking forward to:
it's always me to pay
to false gods I prayed
[Chorus:]
into the maelstrom
fade away
in the darkness
sway
stormy winds blow
inside of my head
blackened skies show
wherever I am
ambitions wasted
stranded again
all gone but hatred
in a weary soul
I am but a shadow
of my former self
[Chorus:]
creeping on
in gloomy rain
in swamps of grey
now I embrace my fear
surrender unto pain
agony unfolding
and silence closing in
bottomless void
I'm bleeding inside
no one around me
I'm screaming in vain
suffering slowly
weakness is pain
torture upon me
I dare not breathe
[Chorus:]
and as I fall
I wish to be
elsewhere
darkness below me
I'm freezing inside
dying away
lunacy's end
if you follow me
you will see
that things are different
behind the door
let no one in
don't you dare
doomride is near
scream holy pain
shine on me now
be old and wise
fall silver rain
wash away my pride
until I drown
[Chorus:]
if only I could dive
flow sacred time
leave all behind
run down the drain
glow dying sun
shine down tonight
grow old and die
we saw this world shining bright
oh, days in paradise
back to the dark ages
where I still belong
back to the dark ages
where I always was
back to the dark ages
and the sun was shining bright
oh, we had days in paradise
I'm going back to the dark ages
where I still belong
back to the dark ages
where I always was
back to the dark ages
oh, you burned my soul
oh, you did so
all my soul is crawling back to you
I know I hurt you
as deep as no one could do
no matter I apologize to you
oh, I did so
the worst crime I know
no matter I apologize to you
[Chorus:]
you find me everyday
I'm sad in every way
I wanted you to stay
all my soul is crawling back to you
out in the cold
paralyzed mind
visions of moving
hunger for more
born into silence
caught in the past
dreams of rising
hunting the light
[Chorus:]
hold on
sowing seeds
your heart
let it bleed
mourning for lost time
petrified eyes
heading for eden
nothing to lose
old black curtain hides the sun
so no one can see that I'm the broken one
in silent nights I hear you call
but all the friendly words have gone
[Chorus:]
black veil is torn
all I see
is I was born
behind the scene
but it is alright
I am the one
unfolded gravelight of my soul
and now I walk away
my entire past I've swallowed
the days are gone
when we did glow
time has passed
I failed to grow
[Chorus:]
and our faces wither
and now I leave my way
my entire life got swallowed
the days are gone
when we did glow
time has passed
I failed to grow
Plane crash in the desert, everybody walked away
Suitcase open to the breeze, light lifting up pretty heavy
So we climbed out, looked around us
Your shirt stuck to your skin
Wreckage shimmered under sky, nothing on the horizon
I know you can keep me warm
Have you ever seen the evening, the way it opens up
Lie down under a wing, we breathed in everything
I know you can keep me warm
The stranger in me shuddered, your eyes were partly closed
My hand deep in the still white sand, the stars dropped down so near
And I hope they never find us, just to disappear
Airhostesses are dreaming at the bar
I thought I heard somebody say "I wish I was in America"
There's been no surprises here, not since the crash
There's been no survivors since the missus was blinded by the flash
I can't see you anywhere
But I look for you everywhere
Arms dealers up in arms at the prices of the drinks
A divorcee keeps telling me that this whole picture stinks
And all the co-pilots who just wanna fly
Winter is coming
You'd better take care
For then I'm released
All mortals beware
Lock your windows
Bolt all doors
And hope it keeps me out
You better hope some more
Living things wither
Your bones feel my cold
I silently slither
Turning young into old
Bodies lie broken
Brittle from the wind
One moment with me
And frostbite sets in
Nights, they grow longer
When I'm around
Your world is smothered
Under frozen ground
Exposure to me
Brings on certain death
If you don't believe
I hadn't thought about Mrs. Morgan for years, until I read in the paper
that she had died. When I was a boy, Mrs. Morgan played solo with my
mother every tuesday afternoon. There were two other women there, but
I can't remember their names anymore. Monkey, Magden, something like that.
Mrs. Morgan collected opals. Her husband Ted owned a circus, which kept
him away and out of the picture most of the time. I'd come home from
school and the women would be hard at the cards. I liked Mrs. Morgan, she
always had a little chip of opal for me, and said that I should save it for
a sweetheart. I came home one day and Mrs. Morgan was crying in our kitchen.
My mother told me to leave them alone. I learned later that a boy from the
circus had fallen and died. He used to ride the trapeze. Mr. Morgan went out
of business and they moved away. I've still got the opals. It's funny how
I can barely bear to be with you tonight
I can hardy stand to see you in this light
How can I even try to deny it
I can barely bear to be with you tonight
How long will you keep me waiting
I can only hold you in the dream tonight
I won't even think what claims you've made tonight
How can I even try to deny it
I can only hold you in the dream tonight
Well I saw you at the opening
Somebody's hand was up your dress
You were showing off everything
Except your finesse
Thought that I
Thought that I was over you
Thought that I, thought that I
Thought that I was over you
In a shack one night in Brisbane
You said that I'd just missed my flight
Playing cards, raining hard
And holding on with all my might
Like a firework going off in my mind
I have to say it hurt me seeing you have a good time
I know you're there, you've got new friends
From my point of view, well it depends
I'm sure there was a reason
It's pretty clear to me
If he's got a hold on your heart yeah
I hope he shows some mercy
Can't you hear the phone ringing
Can't you see the train has come
Can't you hear the Seraphim is singing
The very second time I walked in this room
You knew that I was gone
And just the way the sun slanted in
Made it all seem wrong
I know you say you love me
And somewhere I think that you do
I love all the tricks you've shown me
I'll cut myself in two
It's coming on again
So I saw the newspaper that had burnt in the fire
The headlines were rain
Go walk outside and clear my head
Down on Albion Lane
I know you live around here somewhere
As I scan the sky
I know that you sleep around here somewhere
Where it's warm and dry
On saturday afternoon the crowds rolled in clouds
Ignored the rumors of war
We drink a toast to auld lang syne
Stretched out on the floor
I know you'll never remember
And it's better that way
Let this wine take your memory
Remember when I told you
You were pretty lost
It seems you had it up to here
You just paid the cost
All I have, all I need, all you got, is providence
You're looking pretty tired
Seems you lost some weight
You made it through, I don't know how
That's what you can do
The plants smell sweet in the frozen air
And their silhouettes just fading there
The wolves crouch close against the snow
But where we're running I don't know
In villages and soft sad towns
The candles sway as night comes down
Cold bones creak and strange beasts cry
Watching shadows in the sky
Remember when we were lovers
The things we used to do
The way the wind came through the door
The way it pulled you through
It was over before we knew it
Gone from both our minds
So if you get the inclination
As you stumble into the future
Remorselessly moving out of the past
And you separate the reflex moments of living
You drag down the morning into your room
You can sing with your partner
You can sing by yourself
You can sing that everything takes forever
You can sing with the vampires
You can sing with the beast
You can sing that everything takes forever
As you sit at the table you make small decisions
You lie in your bed and you laugh at the dark
You ask yourself a hundred dumb questions
And you answer yourself with a hundred dumb lies
(Chorus)
And then tomorrow wake up with a stranger
You drag down the morning into your room
(Chorus)
You can sing in the twilight
You can sing in the morning
You can sing that everything takes forever
You can sing in the orchards
You can sing by the streams
You can sing that everything takes forever
You can sing under stars
You can sing in the graveyard
You can sing that everything takes forever
You can sing in your sunglasses
You can sing by the moon
You can sing that everything takes forever
You can sing with accordians
You can sing with violins
You can sing that everything takes forever
You can sing with the knifethrowers
You can sing with the freaks
You can sing that everything takes forever
You can sing in the avenues
You can sing under starlight
You can sing that everything takes forever
You can sing with the last ones
You can sing with the children
You can sing that everything takes forever

So you fly, then you fall
Why'd you learn to walk, when you can crawl
Every hour god sends some wings
Every hour god sends some stones
You steal, and you scheme
You think therefore you are, and you seem
You seem a little nervous, just relax
Just give them all your innocence, you've got stacks
Every hour god sends some wings
Every hour god sends some stones
Now cool out and don't push
Sooner or later they'll give you an ambush
An ambush unexpected, from the blue
I like a little circus, don't you?
Every hour god sends some wings
Every hour god sends some stones
Every hour god sends some eyes
Every hour god sends some nerves
Every hour god sends some luck
Every hour god sends some love
Every hour god sends some light
Every hour god sends some prize
Yeah, and somebody said, if you really want to get ahead
You can make your bed, but you don't have to lie in it
So keep your bad advice, I listened to it once or twice
I'll just throw the dice and wait a minute
Even as we speak, the headlines of the week
They may be wrong, but I'll be strong
And you belong with me
Yeah, and somebody sang, I don't believe in this whole shebang
The Lutherans rang, and I felt the power
I opened up my arms, walked out underneath the palms
And the car alarms went off every hour
Yeah, and somebody wrote, that it might have been a joke
Or just a mistake, at least that's what I reckon
I threw the windows open, it didn't matter that I was broken
I'm still hoping for something better every second
Even as we speak, the headlines of the week
They may be wrong, but I'll be strong
And you belong with me
Even as we speak, when things become more bleak
They may be wrong, but I'll be strong
And you belong with me
Even as we speak, the passing of another freak
They may be wrong, but I'll be strong
And you belong with me
Even as we speak
They may be wrong
Well you spoke about amnesia, as though it's where it's at
Your lover had a siezure, while her brother fed her pussycat
You were hanging from the railing, like a flag that's just been torn
You were trying, you were failing, you were screaming through the storm
Didn't know where I was, didn't know where I was
I didn't know my name
Didn't know where I was, didn't know where I was
It all looked the same
By the time I reached Wisconsin, it was looking just like Perth
A damaged doomed Charles Bronson stumbling on this earth
When the carburettors buckled your pistons just went slack
From the time that you were suckled, you were crying through the cracks
There's people in the city, there's witches in the caves
There's matchsticks in the kitty, why can't you behave
Torches search the heavens, it's raining out at sea
Everyone has disappeared you keep telling me
Your cover is blown, your smile is cracked
They packed us up in boxes, wooden boxes
And sent us home
Underneath the willow, near the the river
By my headstone
And all you do is carry on
It's snowing now it's winter, river's frozen
And still you come
I can almost see you, and touch you
My pretty one
These are weird times
There's a widow in my street
She turns her husbands into birds
They've got claws instead of feet
A cage is in the garden
There's feathers in my phone box
Screeching, squawking, it sounds like talking
Damn noise never stops
Birdowner
See her at the market
She's buying all the seed
I walk right up and ask her
"Is there anything you need?"
I go "coo coo coo"
What else can I do
I go "coo coo coo coo coo"
What else can I do
I go "coo coo coo"
What else can I do
Every night she brings me in
And I fly around the room
There's a parrot who was a doctor
There's a finch who was a clerk
Two black starlings, former darlings
Changed the milkman just for a lark
The cops arrived at dawn
Things were getting out of hand
It seems she had her eyes on
Every single man
Fumbling with their handcuffs
They wanted her to fry
She was waiting in a garden
[L: PHINSTER]
I WALK IN EMPTY ROOMS
THEY REMIND ME OF SOME YOU
WHEN I FOUND YOUR NOTE
LYING ON THE FLOOR
BY THE DOOR
[REF:]
ALL THE LEAVING TRAINS
THEY NEVER COME AGAIN
SHE'S LIKE THE POURING RAIN
SHE'S SOAKING ME INSANE
BUT I CAN LAUGH ABOUT IT
BECAUSE IT ALWAYS MAKES ME CRY
REMEMBER BETTER DAYS
EVERY TIME
SHE LEFT
AGAIN
