ReGenesis is an award winning science drama produced by Toronto's Shaftesbury Films that centers on the fictitious North American Biotechnology Advisory Commission. NorBAC's special operations team, headed by the brilliant but unpredictable Molecular Biologist Dr. David Sandstrm (Peter Outerbridge) and supported by a cast of forensic specialists and CIA operatives, investigates new strains of disease, genetically modified bacteria, and potential bioterror threats or agents. In essence, the show is about microbial forensics and the lives of the people who work in and around the lab.
ReGenesis is also one of the first dramas to feature full media convergence and was recently awarded with the 2007 International Emmy in the Interactive Program category and the 2006 Gemini Award for Best Cross Platform Project. Visitors to the website can tour the NorBAC laboratory, partake in the laboratory's problem solving, and get insight into each episode's health and science issues by getting the "Facts Behind the Fiction" and ""Science and Society" fact sheets, where episodic drama is analyzed by leading scientists compliments of the Ontario Genomics Institute.

Regenesis provides a fascinating overview of the emerging discipline of synthetic biology and the wonders it can produce: from new drugs and vaccines to biofuels and resurrected wooly mammoths. Geneticist George Church and science writer Ed Regis team up to explore how scientists are now altering the nature of living organisms by modifying their genomes, or genetic makeup. Recounting the evolution of life forms from the Hadean geologic era (3.8 billion years ago) through the present, the authors describe the raw material with which geneticists are working to create new organisms. Mani Nasry an exceptionally talented filmmaker, actor and artist with a sophisticated breadth of education, skills, experience, and professional accomplishments. He trained as an actor and director in New York with Salem Ludwig and with Donna DeMatteo for playwriting. For Mani, the decision to work in the film industry guided his academic decisions from an early age. He attended a Toronto high school renowned for excellence in the arts, and was accepted into one of the highly competitive film program at Ryerson university. It is notable that he went to Ryerson with an already well-established career in theatre, film, television and commercial work, and a range of multi-faceted achievements including producing, cinematography, casting, writing, directing, acting, and editing. On his own he added stints in New York and Los Angeles with leading acting teachers, as well as learning the grace and style of many forms of dance and athletics. With courses perceptively, he has also recognized the importance of acquiring an understanding of the business side of the industry, and the varied aspects of technology and production. There are some people clearly born to follow the path they have chosen from the start. Mani Nasry has the passion to succeed, the curiosity and ingenuity required to lead and collaborate in an industry known for its impact and appeal, and the strength of character and work ethic to immerse himself in finding and telling an unforgettable story.

Terrify not your soul with vain imaginary fears. By realizing that you are the one feeding the fire, you can start to take control of your fears. Panic is a vicious cycle that can be broken. When you start to have irrational fears you need to take action quick. Eleanor Roosevelt once said: "You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing, which you think you cannot do."
