Bangkok attracted more than 20 million visitors in 2023, making it one of the most visited cities in the world.
Tourists on all budgets are attracted to its historic palaces, temples, bustling markets, and cultural heritage, but for those with cash to splash, the so-called 'City of Angels' also offers 5-star hotels, Michelin-starred restaurants and luxurious shopping malls.
Get an insider's look as CNBC's First Class takes you on a journey to experience funky urban hideaways, a five-star river cruise, and a seat at one of the most hard-to-book restaurants.

BANGKOK, THAILAND - Today we’re going on a Thai street food tour at Bangkok’s famous Chatuchak Weekend Market. We’ll eat everything from Thai rice and curry to street snacks to one of the best bowls of shrimp tom yum in Bangkok, hidden within a back alley of the market. Let’s go eat!
Jay Lek Rice and Curry (ร้านข้าวแกงเจ๊เล็ก) - https://maps.app.goo.gl/Upref6JY9rQELjhx6 - This is a great Thai breakfast rice and curry spot, where you order Khao Rad Gaeng (ข้าวราดแกง) - Mix of dishes over rice.
Mae Sumontha Grilled Honey Pork (หมูย่างน้ำผึ้ง แม่สุมณฑา) - https://maps.app.goo.gl/4vF7SaeJCnrGURUL9 - This legendary stall at Chatuchak Weekend Market is famous for grilling up moo yang nam peung (หมูย่างน้ำผึ้ง) - Honey grilled pork, and you don’t want to miss it when you’re there.
Rattana Kosin Boat Noodles (ก๋วยเตี๋ยวเรือรัตนโกสินทร์) - https://maps.app.goo.gl/2frzaV2xAxRwwb9z9 - Continuing with this Thai street food tour, there are plenty of noodle options, and one of the tastiest is Thai boat noodles. I ordered kuay teow reua neau (boat noodles with beef) ก๋วยเตี๋ยวเรือ.
Uncle Prayong (ลุงประยงค์ โครงการ 3 แผง 150) - Along with full meals you’ll find an abundance of street food snacks to try throughout the market, and one of my favorites is green mango with sweet fish sauce syrup - mamuang nam pla wan (มะม่วงน้ำปลาหวาน).
Raan Yaam Jae-Euang (ร้านยําเจ๊อึ่ง) - https://maps.app.goo.gl/fMyqYajnjWi2buxr8 - This unassuming Thai street food stall serves one of the best bowls of shrimp tom yum in Bangkok! Of course you have to try tom yum goong (ต้มยำกุ้ง), shrimp tom yum, but also don’t miss their goong tod kratiam (กุ้งทอดกระเทียม) - fried garlic shrimp, yam ruam mit (ยำผักระเฉด) - all sorts of mixed spicy salads, and yod tantawan moo krob (ผัดยอดทานตะวันหมูกรอบ) - sunflower sprouts with crispy pork belly. This place is a hidden Thai street food gem!
Finally, when you’re navigating Chatuchak Weekend Market, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to eat some refreshing coconut ice cream.

Bangkok is a juggernaut that is as beautiful as it is huge. Thailand's capital is not only much larger than the Maldives, Liechtenstein,
Andorra - even Los Angeles, Madrid, Rome, Vienna, Berlin, Kiev, Delhi and Mexico City cannot compete with the City of Angeles.
Most tourists are completely unaware of this fact. They have seen the fantastic sights in films, advertisements and social media and are then surprised that Bangkok does not have a beach. and how long it takes to check into the supposedly centrally located city hotel.
And travelers who are thinking about Bangkok in advance of their trip are quickly faced with these three big puzzles: In which area should I look for accommodation? Are three days perhaps not enough to see everything? And how do I get from A to B?
These questions are answered once and for all in this video. First we dive into how to get from the airport to the city and how best to get around. Then we show where the most important sightseeing spots are, where Bangkok is the most beautiful, where the best food spots are and where the nightlife is the most fun. There are also hotel tips to be close to the action. And at the end we give you the best travel plan for a few days in Bangkok.
