Gonchigiin Bumtsend (Mongolian: Гончигийн Бумцэнд) (September 11, 1881 – September 23, 1953) was Chairman of the People's State Great Khural of Mongolia and thereby head of state of that country from July 1951 until his death.
Having participated in the 1921 revolution that established the Mongolian People's Republic, Bumtsend was chosen to serve as chairman of the Presidium of the State Small Khural in 1940. He became a member of the country's Politburo three years later, in 1943 and chairman of the Great Khural eight years later. It was an honorary role, with power residing in the hands of the prime minister, Khorloogiin Choibalsan.
