Matching Marks Similar to the mother who had her daughter’s birthmark tattooed onto her own hand, this family decided to get matching tattoos of their daughter’s red birthmarks on her legs. The daughter, Honey Rae Phillips, had these red markings all up and down her legs when she was born. Though at the time she might’ve been too young to understand that people often get bullied for being different, the parents wanted to let their daughter know from an early age it was nothing to be ashamed about. Quite the contrary, she refuses to have it removed or hidden as she considered the birthmark to be a “huge part of [her].” Even though her parents had the option of removing the birthmark when she was born, concerns for scarring her face weighed out any desire for their daughter to look as some would say more normal. It seemed to be a good decision in the end, as it’s part of what makes the model so unique. 4. Eyebrows on Fleek Eyebrow fashion has fluctuated throughout the decades, most notably between the late 90s where it was in to have pencil thin eyebrows up until most recently where thicker eyebrows are now more desireable. The small calf was born in 2009 on a dairy farm in Sterling, Connecticut. The half Jersey, half Holstein calf was given a biblical name after Moses’s owner, Brad Davis, had thought the birthmark to be some sort of divine message. Of what the message entails, Davis is not sure, but that didn’t stop from this newborn from making headlines. In the same vein of news, this little puppy born in Japan a year before Moses has a heart-shaped birthmark that’s also made him quite famous. The little chihuahua was born to shop owner Emiko Sakurada, who’s bred thousands of dogs before, none of which ever had as unique a coat as this puppy, named “Heart-kun” has. 2. Didier Montalvo Known to many as “the Turtle shell” boy for the rare condition on his back, eight year old Didier Montalvo was often made fun of for something that was not in his control. According to the surgeon, Neil Bulstrode, who treated Didier, it had to be the most extreme case he’d ever seen. Didier flew from Colombia to the UK to be treated for his condition, in which he went through an operation to have the mole removed. It was apparently the result of Didier having what is called congenital melanocytic nevus, for which he was made fun of as “turtle boy” from a very young age. He’s apparently much happier now, able to live a little more carefree as a little boy. The Fur Birthmark Although he does not appreciate the nicknames of “Chimp” and “Werewolf” others have bestowed upon him, Zhang Hongming can’t seem to escape the attention he’s gotten for having what’s considered an incredibly rare condition called congenital giant pigment nevus, or more commonly referred to as giant furred moles. So he’s not exactly turning into an animal as some might suggest. Because he comes from a relatively poor upbringing, the black marks on his body he was born with were never treated.
