Tony Defries is a British former record producer and pop manager, and more recently inventor.

DeFries worked in the 1960s music scene with such figures as Mickie Most, Allen Klein, before turning his attention to David Bowie. Defries' company MainMan had a management structure that combined ingredients of the movie studio with those of the independent producer/record label/music publisher.

Defries represented Bowie through his rise to stardom, as well as helping to launch the solo careers of Iggy Pop, Lou Reed, Mick Ronson, Mott the Hoople, Luther Vandross and John Mellencamp.

His MainMan Group of companies assisted in the creation of many independent record and publishing companies that were later acquired by major conglomerates. He pioneered work in mixed media by using digital controls for sound, light and special effects in live performance.

DeFries is CEO of Matter, Inc. a private energy company founded in 2004. During the past decade he has secured patents for inventions in broadband digital wireless and information technology while pursuing materials research and free-space optical projects.

David Bowie ( /ˈboʊ.i/ BOH-ee; born David Robert Jones on 8 January 1947) is an English musician, actor, record producer and arranger. A major figure for over four decades in the world of popular music, Bowie is widely regarded as an innovator, particularly for his work in the 1970s. He is known for his distinctive voice and the intellectual depth and eclecticism of his work.

Bowie first caught the eye and ear of the public in July 1969, when his song "Space Oddity" reached the top five of the UK Singles Chart. After a three-year period of experimentation he re-emerged in 1972 during the glam rock era with the flamboyant, androgynous alter ego Ziggy Stardust, spearheaded by the hit single "Starman" and the album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. Bowie's impact at that time, as described by biographer David Buckley, "challenged the core belief of the rock music of its day" and "created perhaps the biggest cult in popular culture." The relatively short-lived Ziggy persona proved merely one facet of a career marked by continual reinvention, musical innovation and striking visual presentation.

George Michael (born Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou (Greek: Γεώργιος Κυριάκος Παναγιώτου); 25 June 1963) is an English musician, singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and record producer. Michael rose to fame in the 1980s when he formed the pop duo Wham! with his school friend, Andrew Ridgeley. His first solo single, "Careless Whisper", was released when he was still in the duo and sold about six million copies worldwide.

As one of the world's best-selling music artists, Michael has sold more than 100 million records worldwide as of 2010. His 1987 debut solo album, Faith, has sold more than 20 million copies worldwide and made several records and achievements in the United States. Michael has garnered seven number one singles in the UK and eight number one hits on the Billboard Hot 100 in the US. In 2008, Billboard magazine ranked Michael the 40th most successful artist on the Billboard Hot 100 Top All-Time Artists list.

Michael has won numerous music awards throughout his 30-year career, including three Brit Awards—winning Best British Male twice, four MTV Video Music Awards, four Ivor Novello Awards, three American Music Awards, and two Grammy Awards from eight nominations.

Todd Duffee (born December 6, 1985) is an American mixed martial artist who competes in the heavyweight division. He is currently signed with India's Super Fight League. Duffee fought for the Ultimate Fighting Championship until his surprise release in September 2010, which came as a result of an apparent dispute with UFC President Dana White. He trains with the American Kickboxing Academy.

Duffee was born in Evansville, Indiana and grew up in Raleigh, Illinois as the 3rd son of a coal miner father and nurse mother. He was working on a degree from the University of Georgia before leaving to train MMA full time.

Duffee got his start into MMA after enrolling in boxing, at the age of sixteen. After moving down to Atlanta, Georgia; Duffee was able to take classes at a boxing gym. After learning more about MMA, he immediately went out and rented old UFC fights and three days later, Duffee was training at a local MMA gym.

Duffee won his first three fights against Mike Walbright, Mark Haniger and Josh Bennett. Duffee then agreed to fight UFC and PRIDE FC veteran, Assuerio Silva in the main event of Jungle Fights 11. Duffee dominated the fight and won by knockout in the second round.

Philip De Fries is an English mixed martial artist fighting out of Sunderland (England), who fights at heavyweight. He is known for his explosive ground game and exceptional submission skills, and De Fries holds a BJJ purple belt (4 stripe) under Rodrigo Cabral.

Since the very beginning of his MMA career, De Fries has shown great submission skills, defeating the likes of Darren Towler and Stav Economou. He has been undefeated in his first 9 fights, going 8-0 (1NC).

After his win over Stav Economou, De Fries was scouted and has since signed a fight deal with the UFC.

De Fries was expected to make his debut against Oli Thompson at UFC 138. However, on October 17, 2011, it was revealed that Thompson had to pull out of the bout due to injury and was replaced by Rob Broughton. De Fries won the fight via unanimous decision.

In his second UFC fight, De Fries faced Stipe Miočić on February 15, 2012 at UFC on Fuel TV 1. He lost the fight via KO in the first round.

In a bout originally scheduled at UFC 138, De Fries now looks set to face former strongman Oli Thompson at UFC On Fox 4.
