Takeya Mizugaki (水垣偉弥, Mizugaki Takeya?) (born December 16, 1983) is a Japanese mixed martial artist who currently competes in the bantamweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. As of October 2011, Mizugaki is ranked the #10 bantamweight in the world by Sherdog.
Mizugaki began his mixed martial arts career competed in respected Japanese promotions Shooto and Cage Force. He was the Shooto Rookie of the Year in 2003 and winner of the Cage Force Bantamweight tournament.
Mizugaki made his World Extreme Cagefighting debut on April 5, 2009 against Miguel Torres for the WEC Bantamweight Championship in which he lost by unanimous decision in the fifth round; he can lay claim as the first to push Torres all five rounds. He fought Jeff Curran on August 9, 2009 at WEC 42, he won by decision.
Mizugaki was expected to face Damacio Page on December 19, 2009 at WEC 45, but Page was forced off the card due to an injury. Mizugaki instead faced Scott Jorgensen and lost the fight via unanimous decision.
Urijah Christopher Faber (born May 14, 1979) is an American mixed martial artist currently fighting as a bantamweight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship organization. Faber won the WEC featherweight championship at WEC 19 on March 17, 2006 and held the title for over two years until his loss to Mike Brown at WEC 36 on November 5, 2008. As of November 2011, Faber is ranked the #2 bantamweight in the world by Sherdog.
Faber is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brown belt under Fabio "Pateta" Prado, who, under Carlson Gracie Jr., is a 5th degree black belt.
Faber was born on May 14, 1979, in Isla Vista, California, to Theo and Suzanne Faber, and grew up in Lincoln. He is of Dutch descent on his fathers side and Italian descent on his mothers side.[citation needed] He went to Glen Edwards Middle School for Jr. High and Lincoln High School for high school. He has two siblings, an older brother named Ryan and a younger sister named Michaella. His sister almost died after a Thanksgiving 2011 car accident. Faber graduated from the University of California at Davis with a Bachelors degree in human development.
Dominick Rojelio Cruz (born September 3, 1985) is an Mexican American mixed martial artist who competes as a bantamweight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship and is the current UFC Bantamweight Champion. As of November 2011, Cruz is ranked the #1 bantamweight and #8 pound-for-pound fighter in the world by Sherdog.
Cruz began his professional MMA career fighting in the Rage in a Cage and Total Combat organizations.
His first fight in the WEC was at featherweight in a title fight against Urijah Faber in which he lost by guillotine choke in the first round. He would then make his debut for WEC's 135 lb Bantamweight division at WEC 34 defeating Charlie Valencia by unanimous decision and would go on to show domination of the 135 lb Bantamweight division beating the likes of Ian McCall, Ivan Lopez and handing top contender Joseph Benavidez his first loss at WEC 42 winning all bouts by unanimous decision and winning fight of the night honors in his bout versus Benavidez.
Cruz defeated Brian Bowles via TKO (doctor stoppage) on March, 6, 2010 at WEC 47. Bowles was unable to continue after the second round after breaking his hand. Cruz became the new WEC Bantamweight Champion.
Eddie Bravo (born Edgar Cano on May 15, 1970) is a Mexican-American practitioner of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu who holds a second degree black belt under Jean-Jacques Machado. He is most famous for his win as a brown belt against Royler Gracie by triangle choke in the 2003 Abu Dhabi Submission Wrestling championships and his particular style of no-gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, called 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu. He is also known for his mixed martial arts commentating on the Ultimate Fighting Championship and music composition. In an interview he advocated marijuana as performance enhancing. He lives in Hollywood, California, where he ran his 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu school out of Legends MMA until 5/11/12. Is presently teaching at 10th Planet in Burbank, Ca.

At UFC Fight Night 24, Chan Sung Jung, aka "the Korean Zombie" forced Leonard Garcia to tap to a spine lock called "the twister", the lock is also known in amateur wrestling as a "guillotine", not to be confused with the guillotine choke which is used widely in MMA. It was the first time the submission had been used to finish a fight in UFC history. He talked about the move after the fight, "It's something I saw a long time ago on the Internet on video," Jung said. "It's one of Eddie Bravo's moves. It's something I practiced because it looks fun and I do it quite a bit in practice. I have always told people I was going to try it sometime in competition. I wanted to do it in the UFC and I was able to, finally."
Dustin Glenn Poirier (born January 19, 1989) is an American professional mixed martial arts fighter, currently competing as a featherweight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He is currently ranked #7 in the Featherweight Division by ESPN.
Poirier turned professional in 2009, quickly compiled a record of 7-0, competing mostly in regional promotions across the Southern United States.
Poirier was defeated in his first WEC fight by Danny Castillo via decision on August 18, 2010 at WEC 50.
Poirier defeated Zach Micklewright via first round TKO on November 11, 2010 at WEC 52.
In October 2010, World Extreme Cagefighting merged with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. As part of the merger, all WEC fighters were transferred to the UFC.
After the UFC/WEC merger, newly crowned UFC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo was set to make his first defence against No. 1 contender Josh Grispi at UFC 125. Aldo then had to withdraw from the bout due to a back injury on November 23, 2010. Poirier agreed to step in and face Grispi at the event on January 1, 2011. Poirier won the fight by unanimous decision.
