Southern Studios is a recording studio in the Wood Green area of London. It was founded in 1974 by John Loder, and came to be the recording studio of choice for Crass and their record label Crass Records. Southern Studios Ltd.continues to grow its label and provide label management and distribution services throughout Europe.

Led by Dr Dean Mohamedally and Chris Child, David Impey's four-player multitouch Microsoft Surface Air Hockey game was developed from scratch with no prior experience to the surface technology in less than 8 weeks. This project includes a fully developed and reusable games architecture that supports multitouch gestures (eg pinching to resize). For gameplay considerations, the user controllers can be resized - larger makes them slower but better defenders, smaller makes them better attackers. There is also the option to fight for two red pucks on the game pitch. Degree link -www.soi.city.ac.uk The MSc in Computer Games Technology at City University London is led by Chris Child (author of the acclaimed multi-platform "International Cricket Captain" series) and offers a wide ranging exposure to industry standards in games development. These include OpenGL graphics, games engine development, surround sound and music technology, programming in C++ and Physics and AI. The Games Architecture module that this project was developed for is a course on this degree. It aims to give postgraduate students breakthrough opportunities to develop their own individual projects with mentoring for a number of great gaming platforms. These include the iPhone, Flash, XNA for Xbox 360, Windows Phone and the Microsoft Surface.
