31 PSM activists including Member of Parliament of Sungai Siput Dr. Michael Jayakumar Devaraj was arrested in Sungai Dua, Penang on 25th June,2011. They were detained while promoting PSM's "Udahla tu... Bersarala" campaign which was directed at Barisan Nasional. They were detained under three charges- illegal assembly, sedition and for publishing pamphlets and leaflets against the Printing and Publications Act. Thirty of them have been remanded for seven days by the Butterworth Magistrate's Court while 16-year-old S Ragu has been released unconditionally. Meanwhile, Human Rights Party's National Advisor Mr.N Ganesan mocked the government's way of handling the public and called for immediate release of the detained PSM members.
