Buddy, Tiny and Midnight shared space with Tito, Tony and Thunderstorm, while PC, Timepass and Snowbell looked on with happiness. And why not! For the city's first pet park opened its doors to them.
Thanks to the efforts of Meenakshi Thakur, a member of Ashoka Road Residents' Association (AARA), aided by Lajo Shahani, a movement to create a park for pets took root. And with the help of BMC and the pet lovers of Yari Road, a dumpyard became a haven for pets.
Director Ananth Mahadevan, who is the proud dad of the cockerspaniel Buddo, "trees and saplings were planted, people donated benches and the whole thing snowballed to become a reality. It was very heartening."
Mahadevan is all praises for Meenakshi Thakur. The inauguration saw Jackie Shroff, Gul Panag, Murli Sharma, Gary Richardson, Ananth Mahadevan, Kunika Lall and a host of other celebs in attendance.
Says Meenakshi Thakur, "I am very touched by the turnout. I am so happy for the pets. I would like this to be a beginning of a happy journey for our pets who enrich our lives so much."

Biography of Jackie Shroff
Jackie Shroff was born on February 1, 1960 as Jai Kishen Shroff into a Gujarati-speaking family to Kakubhai & Rita Shroff. He has been in the Gujarati cinema and Hindi cinema industries for almost 3 decades and has appeared in over 180 films in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Malayalam, Kannada and Marathi. It was director/producer Subhash Ghai who gave Shroff his screen name "Jackie" when he launched him in the film "Hero".
In the late 80s, Jackie Shroff married his longtime girlfriend, Ayesha Dutt. The Shroffs have two children: a son, Tiger (Jai Hemanta), and a daughter, Krishna.
Since the late 90s, Shroff seems to have moved away from lead roles in Hindi movies and has been seen more often in strong character roles. Shroff made his acting debut in Dev Anand's movie, Swami Dada. In 1983 he appeared as the main lead actor in Subhash Ghai movie "Hero" in which he was paired with Meenakshi Sheshadri. He and Anil Kapoor have co-acted in several superhit movies such as Yudh, Andar Baahar, Karma, Ram Lakhan, Parinda, 1942 A Love Story & Trimurti.
Shroff restated solid performances in Ram Lakhan, Tridev, Parinda (1989), Angaar (1992), Gardish (1993), Aaina (1993), Border (1997), Lajja (2001) and Devdas (2002) to name a few.

Jackie Shroff entered Bollywood with Subhash Ghai's 'Hero' in 1982 and became a star overnight. Now, life's coming to a full circle for him, thanks to his son Tiger.
Thirty years on, Jackie will now witness Tiger making his much-anticipated debut in Sajid Nadiadwalas film titled 'Heropanti'. And we cant miss the striking resemblance of the titles. This news comes after many months of speculation over whether it would be Aamir Khan or Subhash Ghai who would launch Jackies son. Looks like Sajid has finally done the act.
Sabbir Khan (of Kambakth Ishq fame) who will be directing Tigers debut film confirms. He adds, "Yes, the title is 'Heropanti' and the title came from the character of the boy that Tiger plays. The character is little above the ordinary. In normal life, we all follow the set norms and rules. We do not move out of the box but Tiger is someone who is flamboyant and does what he wants to."
Khan adds, "Also the fact is that he is Jaggudada's son and we could not have got a more apt title. It was a title that Sajidbhai and I came up with. We are still finalising the female lead and will start the film next month."
