Mueller State Park's 55 miles of trails provide a 5,000-acre playground for the hiker, mountain biker, wildlife watcher and winter sports enthusiast. A popular Watchable Wildlife Area, Mueller is home to elk, black bear, hawks, and mule deer. Park visitors traverse the park's numerous trails on foot, snowshoes, cross-country skis, horseback and mountain bike, depending on the season. A popular winter destination for snow tubing. Mueller also has two options to stay overnight. There are 132 campsites in the park; 17 of these are open for winter camping . The park also has three cabins for rent year-round. Mueller State Park welcomes pets in campgrounds, picnicking, two tubing areas and along the park's roads, but not on the hiking trails or in the backcountry. Keeping pets off of the trails increases the chances of visitors seeing the numerous species of wildlife in the park. Pets must be on a leash at all times unless they are in their tent, RV or personal vehicle. Download Pets at Mueller State Park to learn more. We discourage leaving your pets in an unattended vehicle. Intense winter sunshine can heat up the inside of vehicles; even in low temperatures.

Episode 3 - Around Mueller State Park: Going to Osborn Homestead
I got up early with the intention of being at the park before sunrise, but I realized I needed to pack my film holders for the 4x5 camera before I went. So I actually arrived a bit after the sun came up. That led to a great walk through the ground fog that was still collected in the lower areas. After a nice stop at Geer Pond, I ended up at Osborn Homestead and took my time getting set up for my shots. The morning was beautiful and enjoyable. And I had the chance shoot both my Tachihara 4x5" camera and the Minolta X-700 35mm film camera I recently received.

9 Days of Freedom part 1~ Mueller State Park Colorado
This was our first time here at Mueller State Park. We had a fabulous one night stay. The park is huge and offers a lot of hiking trails. The campground was packed, so reservations are highly recommended The popular mining towns of Cripple creek and Victor, Colorado are just a short drive south with some beautiful views of the surrounding area. I got up early with the intention of being at the park before sunrise, but I realized I needed to pack my film holders for the 4x5 camera before I went. So I actually arrived a bit after the sun came up. That led to a great walk through the ground fog that was still collected in the lower areas. After a nice stop at Geer Pond, I ended up at Osborn Homestead and took my time getting set up for my shots. The morning was beautiful and enjoyable. And I had the chance shoot both my Tachihara 4x5" camera and the Minolta X-700 35mm film camera I recently received.

Colorado Trip 2016 HD
We got to Cave of the Winds just in time to make the cave 101 tour. We spent two days in Manitou Springs at the Pikes Peak RV Park and went to Pikes Peak via the Cog Rail. I made Mike's Chicken Shack, chicken and shared a few pieces with some of the workers at the RV park. It was voted best fried chicken in Manitou. We packed up and drove to and through Garden of the Gods and to the Manitou Cliff Dwellings. Then we went a few miles down the road to Mueller State Park where Josilyn tried fly fishing and caught her first fish on the fly. We then moved to Rampart Reservoir and boondocked at Thunder Ridge Campground. We caught trout for dinner. After a week in Colorado, we drove down the hill and back home to Texas.

Our First RV Park Adventure! Chillin at Santee State Park Day 1
http://adventureswithjim.com hit the chat Finally time to put the RV into service and go check out an RV park. We picked a local state park, short drive to get there, it would be the perfect systems test. Pretty much everything failed! ahahahahahaha. We had a hot miserable day, barely got the RV there and as first impressions of the park go, it wasn't a great start. Before long, we ran into the camp host and things got much, much better. That guy really helped us alot...so even though we seem completely cranky in this video, things got vastly better and this turned into one hell of a cool adventure.

A buddy and I did a short day hike at Castlewood State Park January 23 2016 along the River Scene trail. Its about 3 1/2 miles long, but we managed to make it a little more than 4 miles with side trips. A very nice park with several nice trails.
