Wikimania DevCamp will take place August 7–8, 2013, as a pre-conference event before Wikimania. The hackathon will be in a location to be announced.

Everyone is welcome to the DevCamp days – you don't have to register ahead of time. To help us plan, we would be prefer that you add yourself to the list below.

DevCamp - sometimes called Hackathons ("Hacking days") – have been held previously at Wikimania 2005 (Frankfurt), 2006 (Boston), 2007 (Taipei), 2009 (Buenos Aires), 2011 (Haifa), and 2012 (DC), and various other hackathons and developer meetings.

Interested technologists and hackers of all backgrounds are welcome at the Wikimania DevCamp. Prior experience with the MediaWiki software is not required. Translators with a linguistic background who can help improve language support for Wikimedia technology projects are also needed.

  • 10:00am – Welcome
  • 10:15am – Let the hacking begin!
    • Help setup new users
    • Experienced developers break into groups
  • 11:00am – Training session one
    • Hacking continues in main room during all training sessions
  • 12:30pm – Lunch
  • 1:30pm – Let the hacking resume!
  • 2:00pm – Training session two
  • 3:30pm – Training session three
  • 6:00pm – Dinner / evening activity
  • 9:00pm – Main room closes
