The Myanmar government and Buddhists in Rakhine state are being accused of ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity during attacks on Muslim Rohingya villages. Human Rights Watch says Rohingya have been driven from several towns and villages which were extensively damaged during the fighting last June. This is one of them. It\'s a satellite picture of Sittwe after attacks there. This clear area used to have over a thousand buildings in it. This is one of them. It\'s a satellite picture of Sittwe after attacks there. This clear area used to have over a thousand buildings in it. Human Rights Watch says the destruction was repeated in other townships. It says it\'s discovered mass graves containing bodies with their hands bound. It\'s blaming security forces for doing nothing while people including children, were hacked to death in attacks allegedly encouraged by Buddhist monks. Al Jazeera\'s Veronica Pedrosa reports.

The five-year-old Delhi rape survivor is still in hospital but stable and alert as the capital took to the streets once again to protest against rising rape cases with a wave of revulsion anger across the nation as well. Manoj Kumar, 22, who is accused of brutalising the minor was arrested from Muzzaffarpur in Bihar and brought to Delhi on Saturday. He is likely to be produced in Karkardooma court later in the day.

The survivor was held in captivity and savagely assaulted for two days while the police wasted precious time in filing an FIR and launching a search. And on Saturday, anger erupted in Delhi against the police. Protests took place outside Delhi Police headquarters, outside Gandhi Nagar police station, at AIIMS and outside the Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde\'s residence.

Polls have closed in Iraq\'s regional elections, which has been marred by some violence.

It was the first vote to been held without the help of US authorities, after troops pulled out of the country in late 2011.

Apart from three small bombings, it hass been a smooth run for Iraqi security forces.

Al Jazeera\'s Jane Arraf reports from Baghdad.

Contrari i grillini, SEL e Fratelli d\'Italia.

http://www.euronews.com/ Italian politicians have failed to elect a new president in their fourth attempt to do so.

The centre-left\'s latest candidate, the former EU Commission President and ex-Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi, was more than 100 votes short of the 504 needed to win.

The head of state\'s role is largely ceremonial but his election is seen as a vital step towards breaking the stalemate after February\'s general election. An interim technocrat government remains in charge.

Prodi\'s rejection is another setback for centre-left leader Pier Luigi Bersani. His choice was bitterly opposed by Silvio Berlusconi\'s centre-right group, whose deputies boycotted Friday afternoon\'s vote and staged a protest outside the chamber.

Despite being an internationally renowned figure, Prodi was an unpalatable choice for the right wing. It accuses Bersani of betraying a promise to propose an acceptable candidate.

Contrari i grillini, SEL e Fratelli d'Italia. • Updated: 19 Apr 2013
http://www.euronews.com/ Italian politicians have failed to elect a new president in their fourth attempt to do so. The centre-left's latest candidate, the former EU Commission President and ex-Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi, was more than 100 votes short of the 504 needed to win. The head of state's role is largely ceremonial but his election is seen as a vital step towards breaking the stalemate after February's general election. An interim technocrat government remains in charge. Prodi's rejection is another setback for centre-left leader Pier Luigi Bersani. His choice was bitterly opposed by Silvio Berlusconi's centre-right group, whose deputies boycotted Friday afternoon's vote and staged a protest outside the chamber. Despite being an internationally renowned figure, Prodi was an unpalatable choice for the right wing. It accuses Bersani of betraying a promise to propose an acceptable candidate. "The devil wears Prodi" was the slogan on T-shirts worn by Alessandra Mussolini's far-right group to indicate their opposition. Italy's politicians will try again to choose a new president on Saturday. Find us on: Youtube http://bit.ly/zr3upY Facebook http://www.facebook.com/euronews.fans Twitter http://twitter.com/euronews
