Prophets and messengers 5/8
Muslims identify the prophets of Islam (Arabic: نبي) as those humans chosen by Allah to teach mankind. Humans may rely on revelation or tradition to identify prophets.[citation needed]
Each prophet brought the same basic ideas of Islam (defined as submission to God, to his words and to his orders). They brought the belief in a single God and in the avoidance of idolatry and sin. Each came to preach Islam and told of the coming of the final law-bearing prophet and messenger of God: Muhammad, and many taught of the coming of the Messiah Jesus and the Antichrist. Each prophet directed a message to a different group and each prophet taught minor variations in sharia (or the practice of religion) to a different target audience. These variations constitute applications of Islam: mainstream Muslims do not consider them discrete versions of Islam.
Islamic tradition holds that God sent messengers to every nation. Muslims believe that God finally sent Muhammad to "seal" and to convey the divine message to the whole world (to sum up and to finalize the word of God), whereas he had previously sent the other messengers (rusul) to convey their messages to a specific group of people or to an individual nation.
Muslims regard Adam as the first prophet and Muhammad as the last prophet; (from the traditional interpretation of Muhammad's title Seal of the Prophets). Islam regards Jesus as a rasul (and sometimes as a nabi) because he received wahy (revelation) from God, through which God revealed the Injil (Gospel) to him.[1] Muslims, like Christians, believe in the return of Christ[citation needed], and have great respect for Jesus (known by the Arabic form of his given name as Eesa or Isa) and for his mother Maryam. They do not, however, regard Jesus as the son of God or as God.
Islamic theology recognises as many as 124,000 prophets.[2] The Qur'an identifies 25 prophets by name, starting with Adam and ending with Muhammad.[3] Five of them (sometimes known as Ulul Azmi or the Imams — literally: "leaders" — of the Rasuls) receive the highest reverence for their perseverance and unusually strong commitment to God in the face of great suffering, namely
إلياس
Ilyas Elijah Main article: Elijah 2
Ilyas, a descendant of Harun (Aaron), took over control of the southern part of the Arabian Peninsula after the kingdom of Sulayman (Solomon) collapsed. Islamic tradition says he attempted to convince the people of the peninsula of the existence of only one God, but when the people refused to listen they were smitten[by whom?] with a drought and famine.
اليسع
al-Yasa Elisha Main articles: al-Yasa and Elisha 2
Al-Yasa (Elisha) took over the task of leading the Israelites after the death of Ilyas (Elijah). He attempted to show the king and queen of Israel the power of God, but they dismissed him as a magician. Subsequently, the Assyrians could make people burn[clarification needed] and inflict significant damage on them.
يونس
Yunus Jonah Main articles: Islamic view of Jonah and Jonah 4
Islamic tradition states that God commanded Yunus (Jonah) to help the people of Nineveh towards righteousness. However, Nineveh's people refuse to listen to his message, so Yunus decides to abandon trying to help them and leaves. He is then swallowed by a sea creature (probably a blue whale) and realizing he made a mistake by giving up on his people, he repents to God, and the sea creature spits him out. He then returns to Nineveh, attempting once more to lead his people to righteousness, and this time they follow him.[60]
زكريا
Zakariyya Zechariah Main articles: Islamic view of Zechariah and Zechariah (priest) 7
A descendant of Sulayman, Zakariya (Zachariah), became a patron of Maryam (Mary) the mother of 'Isa (Jesus). According to the Qur'an, he prayed to God asking for a son, since his sterile wife al-Yashbi (Elizabeth) could not provide one. God granted his wishes, temporarily lifting his wife's sterility and allowing her to give birth to Yahya ibn Zakariyya (John).[61]
يحيى
Yahya John the Baptist Main articles: Yahya ibn Zakariyya and John the Baptist 5
Of Yahya (John), cousin to Isa, Islam says that, throughout his lifetime, he captivated audiences with his powerful sermons which preached Abrahamic monotheism. (The Qur'an does not mention baptism.)

Jewish Professor Admits All Prophets Were Muslim
Islam has been the only religion since Adam for all those people who think that Islam was the religion of the Prophet Muhammad. Adam, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, Jonah and the final Prophet of God Muhammad were all followers of Islam which means submission to the one God (not a trinity), not a man, not Jesus but the one true living God that is not born, never dies, never begets and was not begotten

Basic Guide For Non-Muslims - What is Islam?
Salaam! (Peace). A brief explanation on the core beliefs of Islam -- a beautiful way of life in which Muslims believe in the total Oneness of God (Allah in the Arabic language), His Angels, His Revelations (the true Torah, Psalms, Gospel and finally the untouched Quran), His Messengers (including Adam, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Ishmael, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Jonah, John, Jesus and the final Messenger Mohammed -- peace be upon them), The Day of Judgement (when we will return to Allah to be judged according to our beliefs and deeds), The Hereafter (Life after death - Eternal Paradise and Hellfire), and Pre-destination (Allah has full knowledge of the seen and unseen, He knows what has happened and knows what will happen - He has the power over all things and he is testing every single one of us in this temporary life)

Famous People Who Have Embraced ISLAM
WHAT IS ISLAM?
Islam is not a new religion, but the same truth that God revealed through all His prophets to every people. For a fourth of the world's population, Islam is both a religion
and a complete way of life. Muslims follow a religion of peace, mercy, and
forgiveness, and the majority have nothing to do with the extremely grave events
which have come to be associated with their faith. This is a unique religion with a name
which signifies a moral attitude and a way of life. What most people fail to realize is the
names of most all religions are named after people or places. For example Judaism
takes its name from the tribe of Judah, Christianity from Jesus Christ, Buddhism
from Gautama Buddha, Hinduism from Indus River. "Marxism" after Karl Marx, and
"Confucianism" after Confucius and etc. Islam is not named after a place nor does Islam
take its name from a person. That is one aspect of this religion that makes it universal.
The Arabic word "Islam" means peace and submission or surrender of one's will to the
will of the one true God. Anyone who does indeed submit to the will of God as
required by Islam is termed as Muslim.
WHO ARE THE MUSLIMS?
Over 1.6 billion people from a vast range of races, nationalities and cultures across the
globe -- from the southern Philippines to Nigeria -- are united by their common Islamic
faith. Less than 15% live in the Arab world; the world's largest Muslim community is in
Indonesia; substantial parts of Asia and most of Africa are Muslim, while significant
growth can be found in Russia, China, North and South America, Europe, Australia
and New Zealand. In fact Islam is the fastest growing religion in United States and
the World.
WHAT DO MUSLIMS BELIEVE?
Muslims believe in One Unique, Incomparable God; in the Angels created by Him; in
the prophets through whom His revelations were brought to mankind; in the Day of
Judgment and individual accountability for actions; in God's complete authority over
human destiny and in life after death. Muslims believe in a chain of prophets starting
with Adam and including Noah, Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Job, Moses,
Aaron, David, Solomon, Elias, Jonah, John the Baptist, and Jesus, peace be upon
them. But God's final message to man, a reconfirmation of the eternal message and a
summing-up of all that has gone before was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad through Gabriel. They all brought the same message: worship only God, and stop worshipping human beings and their ideas.

Is Radical Islam 'On the Run'—Or Is America? - The Trumpet Daily
The Obama administration has been actively peddling the "mission accomplished" theme when it comes to Afghanistan. But it, like Iraq, has been a long and difficult struggle—and most Americans have grown tired of fighting an impossible to win war. America's leaders have responded by declaring victory so they can finalize an exit strategy, but the state in which we are leaving Iraq and Afghanistan is anything but victorious.

from Judaism to Islam
from Judaism to Islam, darkness to light,
WHAT IS ISLAM?
Islam, the religion preached by the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of God be upon him) is professed today by more than two billion Muslims all over the world. Islam, as a matter of fact, is not a new religion but has been in existence ever since Adam set foot on earth. The same was later preached by Noah, Abraham, Moses, David, Solomon, Jesus and numerous other prophets( peace and blessing be upon them all) who appeared in different ages of history. The Holy Koran, the book revealed to Muhammad (PBUH) says: (This is only a translation the original in Arabic)
We have sent the revelation to you O Muhammad (as We sent the revelation to Noah and the prophets after him; We also send revelation to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the offspring of the twelve sons of Jacob, Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron, and Solomon; and to David We gave the Psalm. (4:163)
Mohammad as the last of this line. With his advent, Islam was finalized and completed as an eternal code of life for all ages and people to come.
This day I have perfected your religion for you, completed My favor upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion. Koran (5:3)
So set you O Muhammad your face toward the religion of pure Islamic Monotheism Hanif (worship none but God alone). God's Islamic Monotheism with which He has created mankind. No change let there be in the religion of God Islamic Monotheism that is the straight religion, but most of men do not know. Koran (30:30)
Islam, thus as religion of nature aims at the perfect development of human capacities. All the prophets invited men to worship and submit to One God and live peacefully among themselves. But the message and code of life delivered by earlier Prophets was confined to the needs and mental growth of particular communities. On the other hand, Islam as preached by Muhammad (peace and blessing be upon him), differs from the earlier religion in scope and universal appeal.
Unlike any other religion Islam is the complete way of life, i.e. it is not spiritual worship only. But it includes every livelihood activity, such as political, social, economical, etc. Islam is an intellectual religion proven by reasoning, and intellectual. not by emotions, feelings, and traditions. When the Muslims left the teaching of the Koran and turned to their emotions and betrayed God's rule, and started to rule by man made laws, the Muslim world is ruled by tyrants and oppressor rulers until nowadays Muslims and Non-Muslims alike, are suffering all over the world. ln Islam, only one Muslim leader supposed to rule (the Khalifah) all of the Muslims, based on the Koran and the (suna) the prophet traditions only because in Islam god is the only legislator. The leader (khalifah) is the first to get hungry and the last to eat. This is lslam.
