Charles H. Spurgeon - " La Fe" - Part.-1

Charles Haddon (C.H.) Spurgeon (June 19, 1834 January 31, 1892) was a British Reformed Baptist preacher who remains highly influential among Christians of different denominations, among whom he is still known as the "Prince of Preachers." In his lifetime, Spurgeon preached to around 10,000,000 people, often up to 10 times a week at different places. His sermons have been translated into many languages. Spurgeon was the pastor of the New Park Street Chapel in London for 38 years. In 1857, he started a charity organization called Spurgeon's which now works globally. He also founded Spurgeon's College, which was named after him after his death.
Spurgeon was a prolific author of many types of works including sermons, an autobiography, a commentary, books on prayer, a devotional, a magazine, and more. Many sermons were transcribed as he spoke and were translated into many languages during his lifetime. Arguably, no other author, Christian or otherwise, has more material in print than C.H. Spurgeon.
Spurgeon - How to Read the Bible (1 of 4)
Matthew 12:3-7
3But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him;
4How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?
5Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?

True Prayer -- True Power! Charles Spurgeon
This sermon should illustrate clearly enough why Charles Spurgeon is considered 'The Prince of Preachers'. This was preached half way through the 19th century: and yet, the message still gets across, loud and cloud, when it is read out the way it was originally preached! Preachers: please notice the excellent structure. A good structure is present in all his sermons. Also, notice how half of the sermon is taken up with actually looking at what the text says. Yet, Spurgeon has a way of doing this without it being really boring! It is so practical and descriptive and real. Spurgeon has a clear purpose and goal in mind: to help us be better at prayer. One of the best messages I have heard from him.

C. H. Spurgeon - Baptist preacher
The descendant of several generations of Independent ministers, he was born at Kelvedon, Essex, and became a Baptist in 1850. In the same year he preached his first sermon, and in 1852 he was appointed paster of the Baptist congregation at Waterbeach. In 1854 he went to Southwark, where his sermons drew such crowds that a new church, the Metropolitan Tabernacle in Newington Causeway, had to be built for him. Apart from his preaching activites he founded a pastors' college, an orphanage, and a colportage association for the propagation of uplifting literature. Spurgeon was a strong Calvinist. He had a controversy in 1864 with the Evangelical party of the Church of England for remaining in a Church that taught Baptismal Regeneration, and also estranged considerable sections of his own community by rigid opposition to the more liberal methods of Biblical exegesis. These differences led to a rupture with the Baptist Union in 1887. He owed his fame as a preacher to his great oratorical gifts, humour, and shrewd common sense, which showed itself especially in his treatment of contemporary problems. Among his works are The Saint and his Saviour (1857), Commenting and Commentaries (1876) and numerous volumes of sermons (translated into many languages).

É Tudo ou Nada! - Charles H. Spurgeon.
24 Fatos Notáveis sobre C.H. Spurgeon—Mais Um!
por
Pastor Larry Newcomer
21. O primeiro livro publicado pela Moody Press foi o All Of Grace [Tudo pela Graça] de Spurgeon. Ele ainda é o bestseller número #1 deles.

ALL-TIME FAMOUS SERMONS: "THE HAIRS OF YOUR HEAD NUMBERED" BY CHARLES HADDON SPURGEON (CIRCA 1888)
This rendition of Charles Haddon Spurgeon's famous sermon, "The Hairs of Your Head Numbered," is performed by Jackson Boyett, pastor of Dayspring Fellowship in Austin, Texas (website: http://www.DAYSPRINGCHAPEL.ORG). Larry Wessels, director of Christian Answers of Austin, Texas/ Christian Debater (YouTube channel: CANSWERSTV, see playlist "Charles H. Spurgeon, Jonathan Edwards, Our Spanish videos" at http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLE91032ED05E42487&feature;=plcp; websites: http://www.BIBLEQUERY.ORG, http://www.HISTORYCART.COM & http://www.MUSLIMHOPE.COM) & studio producer for this presentation, has attended Dayspring Fellowship in Austin, Texas (5500 Avenue G, Austin, TX 78751) from1981 to the present & Jackson Boyett has been the pastor there the entire time. Pastor Boyett earned a B.A. degree from the University of Texas at Austin in English & in 1973 had a "call to ministry" from the Lord, thus enrolling in the Austin Presbyterian Seminary where he earned a Master of Divinity degree by 1976. By 1977 he was licensed & ordained by the Assemblies of God. Between 1976 & 1978 he worked in the Teen Challenge organization (a ministry to help young people) & became director of Austin Teen Challenge. He also worked at the local Christian radio station in Austin as a DJ & a talk show host on a program called "Inner View." By the end of 1978 however he left Teen Challenge & the Assemblies of God over doctrinal differences over the baptism in the Holy Spirit and the "initial physical evidence" of speaking in tongues while continuing to work at the radio station into the 1980s. Since then he has pastored his own independent Baptist church (following the first "London Confession of Faith, 1646 Edition"). Pastor Boyett has also been very active in the Pro-Life movement & has recited & performed the entire Gospel of Mark from memory before audiences in various churches & public speaking arenas. To see other sermons & messages by Jackson Boyett go to the Dayspring Chapel website or type "JACKSON BOYETT" in the YOUTUBE search box.
Charles Haddon (C.H.) Spurgeon (June 19, 1834 - January 31, 1892) was a British Baptist preacher who remains highly influential among Christians of different denominations, among whom he is still known as the "Prince of Preachers". He was a strong figure in the Reformed Baptist tradition, defending the Church in agreement with the "1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith" understanding, and opposing the liberal and pragmatic theological tendencies in the Church in his day.
In his lifetime, Spurgeon preached to around 10 million people, often up to 10 times each week at different places. His sermons have been translated into many languages. Spurgeon was the pastor of the congregation of the New Park Street Chapel (later the Metropolitan Tabernacle) in London for 38 years. Spurgeon was a prolific author of many types of works including sermons, an autobiography, a commentary, books on prayer, a devotional, a magazine, poetry, hymnist & more. Many sermons were transcribed as he spoke and were translated into many languages during his lifetime.
Born in Kelvedon, Essex, Spurgeon's conversion to Christianity came on January 6, 1850, at age fifteen where "God opened his heart to the salvation message." The text that moved him was Isaiah 45:22 - "Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth, for I am God, and there is none else." ln 1854, after preaching three months on probation and just four years after his conversion, Spurgeon, then only 19, was called to the pastorate of London's famed New Park Street Chapel, Southwark (formerly pastored by the Particular Baptists Benjamin Keach, theologian John Gill, and John Rippon). This was the largest Baptist congregation in London at the time. Within a few months of Spurgeon's arrival at Park Street, his ability as a preacher made him famous. The following year the first of his sermons in the "New Park Street Pulpit" was published. Spurgeon's sermons were published in printed form every week and had a high circulation. By the time of his death in 1892, he had preached nearly 3,600 sermons and published forty-nine volumes of commentaries, sayings, anecdotes, illustrations, and devotions (some of the best selling writings in history). Spurgeon frequently preached to audiences numbering more than 10,000. At twenty-two, Spurgeon was the most popular preacher of the day. Still the work went on. A Pastors' College was founded in 1857 by Spurgeon and was renamed Spurgeon's College in 1923, when it moved to its present building in South Norwood Hill, London;[1]. At the Fast Day, October 7, 1857, he preached to the largest crowd ever -- 23,654 people -- at The Crystal Palace in London.
