For the 2005 film , J-Kwon performed the single "Get XXX'd" with Petey Pablo and Ebony Eyez. J-Kwon began working on the follow-up to Hood Hop, Louisville Slugger, that year also. He collaborated with comedian Andy Milonakis in "Like Dis", to promote The Andy Milonakis Show, and appeared on Bow Wow's single "Fresh Azimiz".In 2008, he released a single "Boo Boo" through his own label Hood Hop Music with album Hood Hop 2 following the next year exclusively for digital download. Follow-up Hood Hop 2.5 was released on CD on July 28, 2009. Its first official single was "Louie Bounce (I Smacked Nikki)".
According to a 3 March report from his record company he had been missing since early February 2010. He was later quoted as saying he was "just taking some time out." J-Kwon released his fourth studio album on March 23, 2010, entitled ''J-Kwon.

He is best known for his hit singles "Raise Up" and "Freek-a-Leek", along with rapping on Ciara's Billboard Hot 100 #1 single "Goodies".
He spent six years in prison and on his release moved to New York City, where he met Black Rob and Busta Rhymes, and, according to legend, was signed by the A&R; director of Jive Records after hearing him rapping in a club bathroom. He appeared as himself in Drumline (2002) (performing "Club Banger", "You Can Find Me", and "Raise Up/I Told Y'All"). The release of his second album, , was delayed until 2004.
Barrett currently resides in the Raleigh suburb Wake Forest, North Carolina, where he is working under his own label: Carolina Music Group, or CMG.
On September 11, 2010, he was arrested at RDU Airport after allegedly trying to carry a 9mm automatic pistol aboard a US Airways flight bound for Los Angeles.

Andrew Michael "Andy" Milonakis (born January 30, 1976) is an American actor, writer and comedian best known for creating and starring in The Andy Milonakis Show on MTV and MTV2.
A lifelong comedy fan with dreams of pursuing a career as a comedian, Milonakis began dabbling in comedy while working at his tech support job at a Manhattan accounting firm in the late 1990s and early 2000s. In his free time he began taking comedy classes at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in New York City and eventually started gaining attention on the internet for the homemade sketches he posted on his website angrynakedpat.com.
Milonakis' fame began as an Internet phenomenon after he released home webcam recordings of freestyle rhyming, humor videos, and short films. Some of these include "Crispy New Freestyle", "Cuppy", and "The Super Bowl Is Gay." Comedian Jimmy Kimmel later recruited him for regular appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on television from 2003 to 2004.
Milonakis starred in his own MTV television series, The Andy Milonakis Show, which lasted three seasons between 2005 and 2007.
Milonakis appeared in the movie Waiting... in 2005 and its sequel in 2009. He has also appeared in movies such as Who's Your Caddy? and Extreme Movie.
Milonakis guest starred in Cartoon Network's Adventure Time as NEPTR, the Never Ending Pie Throwing Robot.
