CBC reports on Canadian Government NAFTA lie
Last week, the Conservative Canadian government interfered in the Democratic primary process by lying to the world about Barack Obama's position on NAFTA.
This CBC report reveals the Canadian government's lie, and how John McCain and Hillary Clinton repeated that lie in nearly identical language -- as though Hillary was running to be McCain's vice-president.
It also covers the Canadian government's apology for its interference in American politics, after Stephen Harper's administration was rocked by the scandal.

Richard Dawkins on CBC news - Canadian Broadcasting Corporation
The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (French: Société Radio-Canada), commonly known as CBC and officially as CBC/Radio-Canada, is a Canadian crown corporation that serves as the national public radio and television broadcaster. Radio-Canada is the national French-language broadcast arm of the corporation.
Although some local stations in Canada predate CBC's founding, CBC is the oldest existing broadcasting network in Canada, first established in its present form on November 2, 1936.[1] Radio services include CBC Radio One, CBC Radio 2, Première Chaîne, Espace musique and the international radio service Radio Canada International. Television operations include CBC Television, Télévision de Radio-Canada, CBC News Network, le Réseau de l'information, ARTV (part ownership), Documentary and Bold. The CBC operates services for the Canadian Arctic under the names CBC North and Radio Nord Québec. The CBC owns 20.2% of satellite radio broadcaster Canadian Satellite Radio Holdings, operator of Sirius Canada and XM Radio Canada, which airs additional CBC services including CBC Radio 3 and Bande à part.
CBC/Radio-Canada television stations are currently in the process of an over-the-air digital television transition. However, the transition will result in the loss of either or both CBC TV or Télévision de Radio-Canada over-the-air in many cities.
CBC/Radio-Canada offers programming in English, French and eight Aboriginal languages on its domestic radio service; in nine languages on its international radio service, Radio Canada International; and in eight languages on its Web-based radio service RCI Viva, a service for recent and aspiring immigrants to Canada.
The financial structure and the nature of the CBC often place it in the same category as other national broadcasters, such as the British broadcaster BBC, although unlike the BBC (and more like the Irish network RTÉ), the CBC employs commercial advertising to supplement its federal funding on its television broadcasts. The radio service employed commercials from its inception to 1974. Since then, its radio service, like the BBC, has been commercial-free.

Apocalypse 2012 - Broadcasted December 2 & 3, 2010 on National CBC-TV
December 21, 2012 - disaster will strike the planet. The world, as we know it, will end. That is what many people, millions of web sites and international doomsday entrepreneurs predict. Written, produced and directed by award-winning documentarian Cynthia Banks, Apocalypse 2012 presents the leaders, chroniclers, debunkers and the businessmen of this wide-spread certainty of a global cataclysm.
Apocalypse 2012 follows people trying to protect themselves and others from what they believe is coming. Sure we've seen a lot of this before. But what's different and fascinating about all these predictions is that doomsday fear is moving into the mainstream culture at a remarkable scary pace. Apocalypse 2012 examines why this particular doomsday has become so significant.
Developer Larry Hall is converting an Atlas F missile base in Kansas into a heavily-guarded, fully-furnished underground luxury condominium shelter. Half a floor goes for $900,00 (US). Belgian author Patrick Geryl thinks anyone underground will be destroyed so he is building his community's dwellings on the highest mountain in Spain. Dennis McClung, founder of the world's largest 2012 supply web-site, rejects the notion that he is a fear-monger preferring to see himself as a supplier of the tools of self-reliance. Visitors from the U.S., India, Australia and Canada can cause McCung's site to spike at 150,000 hits per day. George Noory is the host of Coast to Coast, the most popular late night radio show in North America, He focuses on 2012 regularly and to an increasingly receptive audience. With the motto: be prepared, not scared, Noory promises to be live on-air on the fateful night. Coast to Coast is carried by stations in 50 American states and five Canadian provinces.
The ancient Mayan Long Count Calendar is the source of the doomsday prophecy but it is our current environment of perceived deadly threats of solar disruption, coupled with almost instant international communications that feeds the movement. According to psychologists, archaeologists and scientists, the idea of an apocalypse reflects and magnifies the turmoil and distress of our uncertain times.
Joyce Newberry & Marnix Wells (British couple) pray with Maya elder Hunbatz Men at Coba, Mexico At the NASA Space Agency, Dr. David Morrison replies to daily emails from people suffering anxiety about December, 2012. What will happen? The mythical planet called Nibiru will crash into earth. Or, solar flares will scorch the earth. Or, the magnetic poles will flip or switch. Worried survivalists are convinced that resulting landslides, volcanoes and tidal waves will cut off power and threaten the food supply. Morrison dismisses these theories but not the people who believe them. Lorne Dawson, Professor of Sociology and Religious Studies at the University of Waterloo, says, 'we live in a very apocalyptic culture because (people) want the cathartic experience of watching the few heroic figures struggle to survive the circumstance."

Canadian Broadcasting Corporation digital transition PSA (2011-05-19)
A PSA for a historic event, the end of analog TV broadcasts in Canada. Unlike the private broadcasters, CBC is shutting off most of their transmitters instead of converting them, due to costs. Recorded from CBC HD Toronto.

On March 18, 2011, the CRTC mandated a requirement that television stations must broadcast public service announcements regarding the digital over-the-air television transition from May 1, 2011 until August 31, 2011. Stations must broadcast these ads 6 times a day, and increase this to 8 times a day starting August 1, 2011 or one month before the digital transition date for that station, whichever is sooner. Also by May 1, 2011, broadcasters must post on their websites about the broadcasters' specific plans for digital transition.

This is the animation that Canadians will recognize from the end of the television broadcasting day for the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation), FOR US NIGHT OWLS WHO STAY UP LATE! lol.
FOR YOU AMERICAN VIEWERS: WE CANADIANS OFTEN FALL ASLEEP TO THIS WHEN WE CRASH ON OUR COUCH WITH THE TV STILL ON!
As a Canadian, I love the stereotypes of lots of trees, forests, birds, river, water, etc. It makes you feel that Canada is all hinterland and ignores the violence, freeways, political shit, etc. This animation makes you think Canada just fell off a turnip truck a few minutes ago...
