Hindus got it wrong in Tribal issues earlier - Rahul Easwar, Kairali News
(This is Kairali People's Video Material : Courtesy : Kairali) The News Debate moderated by Dr. Lal on Sabarimala, Tribal rights, Malayaraya Adivasi rights etc. Rahul Easwar - "The Mistake committed by Namboothiri Brahmins, Nairs, Ezhavas were that when there Brothers, Adivasi Malayarayas were displaced, they didnt raise enough voice to stop it" "We have to do a Historic Corrective measure, these people who were with Brahmins, Nairs, Ezhavas earlier in building important Temples like Sabarimala were unceremoniously expelled & we have to acknowledge that painful reality, We have to stand up for these Adivasi Malayaraya Tribals who dont have enough money, man power, Organisational abilities to fight expensive Court Battles & win. Fighting for these Tribals who lived & died for Ayyappa, is fighting for Swamy Ayyappa himself. Swamy Saranam, Vandee Mataram

Dalit Leader Ayyankali Famous Villuvandi Yaathra Statue 1893 to Get Access to Public Roads History
In memory of Dalit Leader Ayyankali's Famous Villuvandi Yaathra (villu vandi yatra) in 1893 the statue, Architectural sculpture by architect TP Raju ezikara, inagurated on 30th Aug 2012 at Cherai beach, Kochi, Kerala state. Caste struggles that challenged the upper caste domination in Travancore society in the beginning decades of the 20th century in Kerala. The great Dalit leader Ayyankali's famous "Villuvandi Yaathra" (travel in a bullock cart through public roads) in 1893 through forbidden roads defying the ban on Dalits access to public roads its a great success and marked in golden letters in the history of India. Ayyankali was born on 28 August 1863 in Travancore, Kerala. He was one of the seven children of Ayyan of Pulaya caste. some of his great movements listed below Walk for Freedom & Chaliyar Riot, School Entry Struggle, Kerala's First Workers' Strike, Covering the bodies of Dalit women, Pulaya Temple Entry Movement, Functioning of SJPS. By 1941 he was a very sick man. He died of Asthma on June 18, 1941. Dalits in Kerala especially Pulyas will remain grateful to him for giving them civil liberties and breaking the chains of slavery for ever. It is a great shame that nobody is aware of his great deeds outside Kerala. The state which sells itself as hundred percent literate and empowerment of women has nothing to say about his greatest son Ayyankali. The caste- prejudice against which Ayyankali fought through out his life made sure that his life and message does ...

Sasikala Teacher - Amarnath issue Part1
The Hindu AikyaVedi (HAV) FROM WIKIPEDIA Hindu Ikyavedi or Hindu United Front is a "platform to bring all Hindu organizations together", active in the state of Kerala in India. The group is dedicated to bringing in various sections in Kerala Hindu society such as the Nairs and the Ezhavas under a single umbrella group. Unlike many Indian states, in Kerala minorities enjoy an overwhelming clout in politics besides financially commanding a better position vis a vis their Hindu counter parts. The HAV's stated goal is to "preserve the true cultural heritage of Kerala" by enlightening the masses about the inherent qualities of Hindu culture vis-a-vis semitic/Abrahamic faiths. According to their leader, Sri. Kummanam Rajasekharan, their action plan consists of "CAP": Coordination, Agitation and Propaganda. The group is known for its activism in preserving Hindu cultural unity and staging protests to secure Hindu sites of worship for Hindu use only. Currently, Hindu temples in Kerala are administered by the government through the Devaswam Boards of members nominated by the secular government. Often, even atheists are thus nominated. Hindu places of worship alone are subject to such government control

Kalari at Flow Yoga SLC 1
Ancient Indian martial art being practiced in an intact oral tradition in East Millcreek, Salt Lake City, UT. This clip shows students and teachers milling in the studio space. It is rare for Kalaripayattu to be practiced in the USA. From Wikipedia: Origins Phillip Zarrilli, a professor at the University of Exeter and one of the few Western authorities on kalaripayattu, estimates that kalaripayattu dates back to at least the 12th century CE. The historian Elamkulam Kunjan Pillai attributes the birth of kalarippayattu to an extended period of warfare between the Cheras and the Cholas in the 11th century CE. From the 11th or 12th century the right and duty to practice the martial art in the service of a ruler was most associated with specific subgroups of Nairs; however, at least one subcaste of Brahmins, as well as some Christians and Muslims were given this right and duty. In addition, a special subcaste of Ezhavas/Thiyyas called chekors were engaged to fight in ankam, public duels to the death to solve disputes between higher caste opposing parties. Among at least some Nair and Tiyya families, young girls also received preliminary training up until the onset of menses. We also know from the vadakkan pattukal ballads that at least a few women of noted Nair and Tiyya masters continued to practise and achieved a high degree of expertise. Ankam were fought on an ankathattu, a temporary platform, four to six feet high, purpose-built for ankam. The earliest western account of ...

Manichitrathazhu-Oru Murai Vanthu-Shobana
Shobana in Manichitrathazhu. The film which gave birth to some SAD remakes: Chandramukhi, Bhool Bhulaiyaa. The actress Shobana went on to receive the National Award for the best actress for an amazing portrayal of a Multiple Personality Disorder patient. Directed by: Fazil. II-unit directors: Siddique Lal, Priyadarshan, Sibi Malayil. Starring: Mohanlal, Shobana, Suresh Gopi. Manichitrathazhu (The Ornate Lock) is a 1993 psychological thriller/horror Malayalam film directed by Fazil and written by Madhu Muttam. The story is influenced by a tragedy that happened in the Alummoottil palace of a famous central Travancore ezhava family in the 19th century.[1] The movie was an unusual theme in Malayalam cinema but proceeded to become a big hit. Several other prominent directors such as Siddique-Lal, Priyadarshan and Sibi Malayil served as second-unit directors on the movie. Shobhana was awarded the National Film Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of the central character Ganga. After its runaway success in Kerala, it was remade after nearly 10 years in various languages, including Kannada (Apthamitra), Tamil (Chandramukhi), Bengali (Rajmohol), and Hindi (Bhool Bhulaiyaa). All of them went on to become commercial successes.
