Sarah Strohl:
Sarah is 16-yrs old and a
Sophomore at
Zionsville Community High School. Sarah stars in her very own online lifestyle show, Sarah's
Great Day!, which can be found on YouTube. Sarah has been blessed to reap the many rewards of an inclusive education and is active in her school both socially and academically as well as her community. Sarah represents ZCHS as their
Ambassador for
Best Buddies and has been her class representative for
Homecoming Princess her Freshman and Sophomore years of school. Sarah is active in her school's
Lady Cadette Choir, Best Buddies
Club and her favorite class is
Spanish. Sarah was also the recipient of the 2014 Arc of
Indiana Entrepreneurial
Award.
Outside of school, Sarah's favorite love is her horse,
Peter, and riding in the
Special Olympics. She is also a big fan of her small group through church and can often be found watching movies with her friends or sisters while quoting every line in
Harry Potter. She loves music, dancing and of course, eating!
Valerie Strohl:
President and
Founder of United Media,
LLC and United Media Now Productions (UMNP). UMNP produces Sarah's Great Day!,
Conversations, documentaries focused on disabilities and outside production work.
Prior to entering the media industry, Ms. Strohl was an Gubernatorial Appointee to Governors
Frank O'Bannon,
Joseph Kernan and
Mitch Daniels. She represented families of infants and toddlers with disabilities to the administration through membership on the Interagency Coordinating
Council for Infants and Toddlers (
ICC). During
Governor Kernan's term, Ms. Strohl was named Chairman of the ICC, a position she held through the first part of Governor
Mitch Daniel's term. During her tenure, she led one of the largest grass root efforts in the
State's history to demand quality services for infants and toddlers with disabilities. The kids won!
Today, Ms. Strohl is an active member and
Board Member of the Best Buddies organization. She enjoys cooking, reading and being outdoors in her gardens.
