Kent
Kent /ˈkɛnt/ is a county in South East England, and one of the home counties. It borders East Sussex, Surrey and Greater London and has a defined boundary with Essex in the middle of the Thames Estuary. The ceremonial county boundaries of Kent include the shire county of Kent and the unitary borough of Medway. Kent has a nominal border with France halfway through the Channel Tunnel. Maidstone is its county town and historically Rochester and Canterbury have been accorded city status, though only the latter still holds it.
Kent's location between London and the continental Europe has led to its being in the front line of several conflicts, including the Battle of Britain during World War II. East Kent was known as Hell Fire Corner during the conflict. England has relied on the county's ports to provide warships through much of the past 800 years; the Cinque Ports in the 12th–14th centuries and Chatham Dockyard in the 16th–20th centuries were of particular importance to the country's security. France can be seen clearly in fine weather from Folkestone, and the iconic White Cliffs of Dover.

South Africa, officially the Republic of South Africa, is a country located at the southern tip of Africa. It is divided into nine provinces and has 2,798 kilometres (1,739 mi) of coastline. To the north of the country lie the neighbouring territories of Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe; to the east are Mozambique and Swaziland; while Lesotho is an enclave surrounded by South African territory.
South Africa is multi-ethnic and has diverse cultures and languages. Eleven official languages are recognised in the constitution. Two of these languages are of European origin: South African English and Afrikaans, a language which originated mainly from Dutch that is spoken by the majority of white and Coloured South Africans. Though English is commonly used in public and commercial life, it is only the fifth most-spoken home language. All ethnic and language groups have political representation in the country's constitutional democracy comprising a parliamentary republic; unlike most parliamentary republics, the positions of head of state and head of government are merged in a parliament-dependent President.

Vryheid
Vryheid is a coal mining and cattle ranching town in northern KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Vryheid is Afrikaans for "freedom" or "liberty".
After British and Boer mercenaries had helped Dinuzulu defeat his rival Usibepu for succession of the Zulu throne, land and farming rights were granted to them along the banks of the Mfolozi River. On August 5, 1884 the mercenaries formed the Nieuwe Republiek (New Republic) with Vryheid as its capital. It was later incorporated into the South African Republic, but at the end of the Second Boer War the town and its surrounding area was absorbed into Natal. Vryheid is located along the Spoornet Coaline.

Andrew Bicknell is a character actor from the United Kingdom.
Bicknell has appeared in a large range of British and American film and television work. He has also become known for playing the likeness of James Bond in the 2001 video game of Agent Under Fire as (then current) James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan had not renewed his contract to appear as the Bond likeness. Bicknell's Bond was due to appear in the following game, but due Brosnan signing up to Die Another Day, the actor was dropped from the project.

Barry Nelson
Barry Nelson (April 16, 1917 – April 7, 2007) was an American actor, noted as the first actor to portray Ian Fleming's secret agent James Bond.
Nelson was born Robert Haakon Nielsen in San Francisco, California, of Norwegian ancestry, the son of Betsy (née Christophsen) and Trygve Nielsen. (His year of birth has been reported variously, but his 1943 Army enlistment record and his 1993 voter registration records certify 1917 as the correct year of his birth.) He began acting in school at the age of fifteen. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 1941 and, because of his theatrical efforts in school, was almost immediately signed to a motion picture contract by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios.
As an MGM contract player, Nelson made his screen debut in the role as Paul Clark in Shadow of the Thin Man (1941) starring William Powell and Myrna Loy, with Donna Reed. He followed that with his role as Lew Rankin in the film noir crime/drama Johnny Eager (1942) starring Robert Taylor and Lana Turner.He played the lead in an MGM second feature war film A Yank on the Burma Road. Bob Holness
Robert Wentworth John Holness (12 November 1928 – 6 January 2012) was an English radio and television presenter.
Holness was born in Vryheid, Natal, South Africa. When he was seven, his family moved to the UK, initially to Herne Bay, Kent where his grandfather Nathaniel was brought up, then later to Ashford, Kent. After attending Ashford Grammar School (now The Norton Knatchbull School) and Maidstone College of Art, he then worked for a printing company before returning to South Africa. In 1955, he received his first job as a radio presenter. He also married Mary in 1955, whom he met in South Africa. In 1956 he played James Bond in a radio production of Moonraker. The couple returned to the UK in 1961. His daughter, Ros, was a member of the band Toto Coelo.
Holness joined the BBC as a presenter on Late Night Extra, initially on the BBC Light Programme and later on BBC Radio 1 and 2, presenting alongside people like Terry Wogan, Michael Parkinson and Keith Fordyce. From 1971, the show was broadcast solely on Radio 2. Between 1975 and 1985, he was co-presenter with Douglas Cameron of the breakfast-time AM Programme on London's LBC radio station. He originally joined the station as an airborne traffic reporter. He won the Variety Club Award for 'Joint Independent Radio Personality of the Year' in both 1979-84.[citation needed]

Daniel Craig
Daniel Wroughton Craig (born 2 March 1968) is an English actor best known for playing British secret agent James Bond in a 2006 reboot of the film series and its sequels.
Craig is an alumnus of the National Youth Theatre and graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London and began his career on stage. His early on screen appearances were in the films Elizabeth, The Power of One and A Kid in King Arthur's Court, and on Sharpe's Eagle and Zorro in television. David Niven
James David Graham Niven (1 March 1910 – 29 July 1983), was a British actor and novelist, best known for his roles as Phileas Fogg in Around the World in 80 Days and Sir Charles Lytton, a.k.a. "the Phantom", in The Pink Panther. He was awarded the 1958 Academy Award for Best Actor in Separate Tables.
Born in London, Niven attended Heatherdown and Stowe before gaining a place at Royal Military College at Sandhurst. He was gazetted a Lieutenant in the Highland Light Infantry. Having developed an interest in acting, he left the Highland Light Infantry, travelled to Hollywood and had several minor roles in film. He first appeared as an extra in the British film There Goes the Bride (1932). From there, he hired an agent and had several small parts in films from 1933, 1934 and 1935, including a non-speaking part in MGM's Mutiny on the Bounty. This brought him to wider attention within the film industry and he was spotted by Samuel Goldwyn. Upon the outbreak of the Second World War, Niven returned to England, and rejoined the army and was recommissioned as a lieutenant.

Born in Tupelo, Mississippi, Presley moved to Memphis, Tennessee, with his family at the age of 13. Accompanied by guitarist Scotty Moore and bassist Bill Black, Presley was the most important popularizer of rockabilly, an uptempo, backbeat-driven fusion of country and rhythm and blues. RCA Victor acquired his contract in a deal arranged by Colonel Tom Parker, who would manage the singer for over two decades. Presley's first RCA single, "Heartbreak Hotel", released in January 1956, was a number one hit. He became the leading figure of the newly popular sound of rock and roll with a series of network television appearances and chart-topping records. His energized interpretations of songs, many from African American sources, and his uninhibited performance style made him enormously popular—and controversial. English people
The English (from Old English: Englisc) are a nation and ethnic group native to England, who speak English. The English identity is of early mediaeval origin, when they were known in Old English as the Anglecynn. England is now a country of the United Kingdom, and the majority of English people in England are British Citizens. Their ethnonym is derived from the Angles, a Germanic people originally from Northern Germany who migrated to Britain.

/ˈleɪzənbi/; born 5 September 1939) is an Australian actor and former model, best known for portraying James Bond in the 1969 film On Her Majesty's Secret Service.
Lazenby was born in Goulburn, New South Wales, at Ovada Private Hospital, to railway worker George Edward Lazenby and Sheila Joan Lazenby (née Bodel), who worked at Fosseys. He went to Bourke Street School in his primary years, and Goulburn High until either 1953 or 1954. The young Lazenby was fond of guns, knives, and riding bikes, and is described by those who went to school with him as "a bit of a larrikin." His sister, Barbara, was an accomplished dancer. When he was about 14 or 15 he moved with his family from Goulburn to Queanbeyan, where he worked as a car salesman and mechanic, before serving in the Australian Army. He moved to London in 1963.
In 1968, after Sean Connery quit the role of James Bond, and 22-year-old actor Timothy Dalton declined the role in On Her Majesty's Secret Service (OHMSS), believing himself too young for it, producer Albert R. Broccoli chose Lazenby after seeing him in a commercial. Lazenby dressed the part by sporting several sartorial Bond elements such as a Rolex Submariner wristwatch and a Savile Row suit (ordered, but uncollected, by Connery). Broccoli offered him an audition. The position was consolidated when Lazenby accidentally punched a professional wrestler, who was acting as stunt coordinator, in the face, impressing Broccoli with his ability to display aggression. Lazenby won the role based on a screen-test fight scene, the strength of his interviews, fight skills and audition footage.

Gerry Rafferty
Gerald "Gerry" Rafferty (16 April 1947 – 4 January 2011) was a Scottish singer-songwriter best known for his solo hits "Baker Street", "Right Down the Line", "Days Gone Down", "Night Owl", "Get It Right Next Time", and with the band Stealers Wheel, "Stuck in the Middle with You". Rafferty was born into a working class family in Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland. His mother taught him both Irish and Scottish folk songs as a boy; later, he was influenced by the music of The Beatles and Bob Dylan. He joined the folk-pop group The Humblebums in 1969. After they disbanded in 1971, he recorded his first solo album, Can I Have My Money Back? Rafferty and Joe Egan formed the group Stealers Wheel in 1972, producing several hits, most notably "Stuck in the Middle with You". In 1978, he recorded his second solo album, City to City, which included "Baker Street", his most popular song.
Rafferty was born on 16 April 1947 into a working-class family in Paisley, a son and grandson of coal miners. He was a son of Mary Skeffington and Joseph Rafferty (died 1963); and had two brothers, Jim and Joe (died 1995). Rafferty grew up in a council house on the town’s Foxbar estate and was educated at St Mirin's Academy. His Irish-born father, a violent alcoholic, was a miner and lorry driver who died when Rafferty was 16. His mother was Irish/Scottish and taught him both Irish and Scottish folk songs as a boy: "My father was Irish so growing up in Paisley I was hearing all these songs when I was two or three. Songs like 'She Moves Through the Fair', which my mother sings beautifully. And a whole suite of Irish traditional songs and Scots traditional songs." Heavily influenced by folk music and the music of The Beatles and Bob Dylan, the young Rafferty started to write his own material.

Keith Fordyce
Keith Fordyce (15 October 1928 – 15 March 2011) was an English disc jockey and former presenter on British radio and television. He is most famous as the first presenter of ITV's Ready Steady Go! in 1963, but was a stalwart of both BBC radio and Radio Luxembourg for many years.
Born Keith Fordyce Marriott in Lincoln, he attended Lincoln School and later studied law at Emmanuel College, Cambridge. He first came to the attention of British radio listeners when he arrived at Radio Luxembourg in 1955 to become a staff announcer in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg where he was later joined by Barry Alldis.
Fordyce later worked for the BBC Light Programme in the 1960s, with such programmes as the lunchtime Pop In show, and went on to host the television talent show Thank Your Lucky Stars On 9 August 1963 he presented the first edition of Ready Steady Go! on Associated Rediffusion television, being joined subsequently by the young, modish Cathy McGowan who took over the show when Fordyce left in 1965.

Maxwell Caulfield
Maxwell Caulfield (born 23 November 1959) is a British film, stage, and television actor who is based in the United States, known for his roles as Michael Carrington in Grease 2 (1982) and as Miles Colby in The Colbys (1985–87) and its parent show Dynasty (1985–86). Maxwell Caulfield was born an only child in Duffield, Derbyshire — although he later claimed birth in Glasgow, reportedly to be "more interesting". Although not a child actor, aged around seven he played "Ted" (using the pseudonym Maxwell Findlater) in the 1967 film, Accident, written by Harold Pinter (screenplay) and starring Stanley Baker, Dirk Bogarde and Michael York.
The actor's American stepfather, Peter Maclaine, a former marine, reportedly kicked Caulfield out of the house at the age of 15. Caulfield has a half-brother by his mother's second marriage, Marcus Maclaine.

Michael Jayston
Michael Jayston (born Michael James on 29 October 1935) is a Nottingham-born English actor.
He attended the Becket Grammar School in West Bridgford, then worked briefly as a trainee accountant at the offices of the National Coal Board before obtaining a scholarship to the Guildhall School of Music and Drama to train as an actor. He made his professional debut, aged 27, in a production of The Amorous Prawn, going on to work on the stage at the Salisbury Repertory, Bristol Old Vic and with the Royal Shakespeare Company.
He enjoyed success as a classical stage actor, then played roles on British television. Shakespearean roles on TV include Demetrius in A Midsummer Night's Dream (1968), Gratiano in The Merchant of Venice (1973) and Edmund in King Lear (1975). An early recurring television role was as civil servant Dowling in the final series of boardroom drama The Power Game in 1969.
In 1970 he played Henry Ireton in Cromwell. In 1971, he starred as Tsar Nicholas II of Russia in the film Nicholas and Alexandra, then in 1973 took the lead role of Mr Rochester in a BBC adaptation of Jane Eyre opposite Sorcha Cusack. He appeared as Gratiano opposite Laurence Olivier as Shylock in the National Theatre's film The Merchant of Venice (1974). He made two appearances in the anthology series Thriller in 1974 and in 1975 played Quiller, a spy who never used a gun, in the British TV series of the same name. He appeared as Dornford Yates' gentleman hero Jonathan Mansel in the 1977 BBC adaptation of She Fell Among Thieves. In 1979 he played Peter Guillam opposite Alec Guinness in the serial Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. He also played Mr Spooner in series Tracy Beaker Returns in 2010.

Michael Parkinson
Sir Michael Parkinson, CBE (born 28 March 1935) is an English broadcaster, journalist and author. He presented his interview programme, Parkinson, from 1971 to 1982 and from 1998 to 2007. He has been described in The Guardian as "the great British talkshow host".
Parkinson, or "Parky" as he is known, was born in the village of Cudworth, England. The son of a miner, he was educated at Barnsley Grammar School and passed two O-Levels: in Art and English Language.[citation needed] He was a club cricketer, and both he and his opening partner at Barnsley Cricket Club, Dickie Bird, had trials for Yorkshire together with Geoffrey Boycott. He once kept Boycott out of the Barnsley Cricket team by scoring a century and 50 in two successive matches. Parkinson began as a journalist on local newspapers, and his Yorkshire background and accent remain part of his appeal. He worked as a features writer for the Manchester Guardian, working alongside Michael Frayn, and later on the Daily Express in London. He was also conscripted into National Service as Britain's youngest army captain and was involved in the Suez Operation in the summer of 1956.

Pierce Brosnan
Pierce Brendan Brosnan (born 16 May 1953) is an Irish actor, film producer and environmentalist. After leaving school at 16, Brosnan began training in commercial illustration, but trained at the Drama Centre in London for three years. Following a stage acting career he rose to popularity in the television series Remington Steele (1982–87).
After Remington Steele, Brosnan took the lead in many films such as Dante's Peak and The Thomas Crown Affair. In 1995, he became the fifth actor to portray secret agent James Bond in the official film series, starring in four films between 1995 and 2002. He also provided his voice and likeness to Bond in the 2004 video game James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing. In 1996, along with Beau St. Clair, Brosnan formed Irish DreamTime, a Los Angeles-based production company. In later years, he has become known for his charitable work and environmental activism.

Raphael Ravenscroft
Raphael Ravenscroft, born in Stoke on Trent, is an English musician and author on saxophone play. He lives in London.
He is best known for his work with Gerry Rafferty, performing the saxophone solo on "Baker Street" and his performances with Pink Floyd, Abba and Marvin Gaye. Other Ravenscroft performing credits include work with America, Kim Carnes, Mike Oldfield, Chris Rea, Robert Plant, Brand X, Hazel O'Connor and Bonnie Tyler.
In 1979, Ravenscroft released the solo album Her Father Didn't Like Me, Anyway (CBS Portrait JR 35683). In 1983, Ravenscroft released the track "Maxine" which gained airplay, but performed poorly on the charts. His track "A Whole Lot of Something Going On" was sampled by producer Heavy D on the track "Feel It In The Air", by Beanie Sigel.
In 2010, Ravenscroft played on albums and with Duffy, and Mary Hopkin and Daft Punk and Ben's Brother Jamie Hartman. Ravenscroft is also the author of several books on saxophone technique including the instruction book, The Complete Saxophone Player (1990).

Roger Moore
Sir Roger George Moore KBE (born 14 October 1927) is an English actor. He is best known for portraying British secret agent James Bond in the official film series between 1973 and 1985.
Moore was born in Stockwell, London. The only child of George Alfred Moore, a policeman, and Lillian "Lily" (née Pope), a housewife, he attended Battersea Grammar School, but was evacuated to Holsworthy, Devon during Second World War and was then educated at Dr Challoner's Grammar School in Amersham, Buckinghamshire. He then attended the College of the Venerable Bede at the University of Durham but never graduated. At 18 years old, shortly after the end of the war, Moore was conscripted for national service. He was commissioned as an officer and eventually became a Captain. Moore served in the Royal Army Service Corps, commanding a small depot in West Germany. He later transferred to the entertainment branch (under luminaries such as Spike Milligan), and immediately prior to his national service, there was a brief stint at RADA (the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art), during which his fees were paid by film director Brian Desmond Hurst, who also used Moore as an extra in his film Trottie True. Moore was a classmate at RADA with his future Bond colleague Lois Maxwell, the original Miss Moneypenny. The young Moore first appeared in films during the mid to late-1940s, as an extra. Moore's film idol as a child was Stewart Granger. As a 17-year-old, Moore appeared as an extra in the film Caesar and Cleopatra (1945), finally meeting his idol on the set. Moore later worked with Granger in The Wild Geese.

Sean Connery

Stuart Maconie
Stuart Maconie (born 13 August 1960) is an English radio DJ and television presenter, writer, journalist, and critic working in the field of pop music and popular culture. He is currently a presenter on BBC Radio 6 Music, where he hosts an afternoon show five times a week (Monday to Friday, 1pm - 4pm), alongside Mark Radcliffe, called Radcliffe & Maconie. The pair had previously presented an evening show on BBC Radio 2. He used to present his own solo show on Saturday afternoons from April 2006 until 29 March 2008, and is a frequent stand-in for holidaying presenters on Radio 2. He also hosts BBC Radio 6 Music programmes The Freak Zone, on Sundays from 5.30-8 pm and The Freakier Zone, on Friday night/Saturday mornings from midnight-1am.
He lives in and broadcasts from Birmingham,[citation needed] though the Radcliffe and Maconie show is broadcast from BBC's studios in Manchester.
Maconie was born in Whiston Hospital, Lancashire. While still at St John Rigby school in the sixth form, Maconie formed a band named (after several iterations) "Les Flirts", featuring Maconie on guitar/vocals, Nigel Power on bass and Jem Bretherton on drums. They performed at Wigan venues like the BierKellar and 'Trucks'. Performance style was influenced by the early Elvis Costello school of delivery. Set highlights included the self-penned "Little Flirts" and a crowd-pleasing cover of "Satellite of Love".

Terry Wogan
Sir Michael Terence Wogan, KBE, DL (born 3 August 1938), also known as Terry Wogan, is a veteran Irish radio and television broadcaster who holds dual Irish and British citizenship. Wogan has worked for the BBC in the United Kingdom for most of his career. Before he retired from the weekday breakfast programme Wake Up to Wogan on BBC Radio 2 on 18 December 2009, it had a regular 8 million listeners, making Wogan the most listened-to radio broadcaster of any European nation. He began his career at Raidió Teilifís Éireann where he presented shows such as Jackpot in the 1960s.
Wogan has been a leading media personality in the UK since the late 1960s and is often referred to as a national treasure. He is perhaps best known in the United Kingdom for his BBC1 chat show Wogan, for his work presenting Children in Need, as the host of Wake Up to Wogan, the original host of the BBC game show Blankety Blank (before being replaced by Les Dawson), a presenter of Come Dancing in the 1970s, and as the BBC's commentator for the Eurovision Song Contest on radio and television from 1971 to 2008. Timothy Peter Dalton (born 21 March 1946) is a British actor of film and television. Dalton was born in Colwyn Bay, Denbighshire, North Wales to an English father, who was a captain in the Special Operations Executive during World War II and had become an advertising executive at the time of his son's birth, and an American mother of Italian and Irish descent. Before his fourth birthday, the family moved back to England to Milford, a village near Belper, Derbyshire. While in Milford, he attended the Herbert Strutt Grammar School. As a teenager, he was a member of the Air Cadets. He decided to become an actor at 16 after seeing a production of Macbeth. He left school in 1964 to enroll in the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and tour with the National Youth Theatre. Dalton did not complete his RADA studies, leaving the academy in 1966 to join the ensemble of the Birmingham Repertory Theatre.

Toby Stephens
Toby Stephens (born 21 April 1969) is an English stage, television and film actor who has appeared in films in both Hollywood and Bollywood. Tommy Boyd
Timothy Leslie Boyd (born 14 December 1952), better known as Tommy Boyd, is a British radio and television presenter who now lives in Chichester, West Sussex.
Boyd was born in Feltham and grew up in Ashford in Middlesex attending Tudor Grammar School. His father, who was a boxing and weightlifting champion and later a bodybuilder, was from Newcastle upon Tyne. On leaving school, he worked at a Debenhams store in Staines. Aged 19, he went to New York to work at a summer camp as soccer coach. From there, Boyd went on to study at Brighton College of Education. To finance his studies, Boyd worked as a night club DJ and stringer at BBC Radio Brighton; he also worked for two years as a dolphin trainer at the Brighton Dolphinarium, and later worked two seasons as a red coat entertainer at a Butlins holiday camp in Bognor Regis. In 1974, he joined start-up news radio station LBC as a journalist, and, in 1976, was made editor of the rolling news breakfast show "AM".
A gifted sportsman, he turned down joining Sussex County Cricket Club in 1975 to concentrate on performing.

RIP 12 November 1928 - 6 January 2012 Bob Holness was the host of the cult British game show Blockbusters from 1983 to 1993 and hosted Call My Bluff a little later on. Earlier in his life though, he was the 2nd person to be casted as James Bond, back in South African radio in the 50's. He died peacefully in his sleep, and as many people are saying, ''Rest In P's Bob Holness..."

Many of the volunteers went on to get full time jobs in the tv industry. Originally fronted by Steve Brennan, it was also hosted by Tom Magner, Patricia Mitchell, Tony O'Rourke and Steve Hyland. Scene on 7 was the local tv programme produced by the Cable Corporation from Langley near Slough. Staffed by volunteer programme makers from the community and run by a small paid team of WMtv staff, it covered local news and events in the Berkshire area for 2 years between 1993 and 1995. Many of the volunteers went on to get full time jobs in the tv industry. Originally fronted by Steve Brennan, it was also hosted by Tom Magner, Patricia Mitchell, Tony O'Rourke and Steve Hyland. WMtv stood for Windsor & Middlesex tv. With Bob Holness.

Une chanson de Gerry Rafferty, son titre vient de la célèbre rue londonienne Baker Street. Elle fait partie du deuxième album de Gerry Rafferty, City to City, enregistré en 1977. Sortie en single en 1978, elle a atteint la place de n°2 aux États-Unis. L'album, y compris Baker Street, a été co-produit par Rafferty et Hugh Murphy. Il a atteint les 5 millions d'exemplaires vendus d'après.
En plus d'un solo de guitare, joué par Hugh Burns, l'arrangement est connu en particulier pour son célèbre solo en huit mesures de saxophone, qui intervient comme une pause entre les versets.
La mélodie était initialement destinée à être chantée, puis a été essayée pour la guitare. Raphael Ravenscroft (en), un musicien de session ayant par ailleurs participé à l'album The Final Cut de Pink Floyd, était dans le studio pour enregistrer un bref morceau de saxophone soprano ; il suggéra d'enregistrer le désormais célèbre solo en utilisant le saxophone alto qu'il avait dans sa voiture. Ce solo devint le "phénomène Baker Street" : une résurgence de la vente de saxophones et leur utilisation dans la musique pop mainstream et de la publicité TV.
Rafferty a écrit la chanson au cours d'une période où il essayait de se dégager des contrats des Stealers Wheel. Les problèmes juridiques entourant l'éclatement en 1975 de son ancien groupe empêchaient Rafferty d'effectuer une quelconque production en raison de différents sur des obligations contractuelles d'enregistrement ; il dut se déplacer régulièrement entre son domicile familial près de Glasgow et Londres, où il restait dans l'appartement d'un ami : à Baker Street[2].
La résolution de ses frustrations juridiques et financières est exprimée par la fin euphorique de la chanson : "When you wake up it's a new morning/ The sun is shining, it's a new morning/ You're going, you're going home." (" Quand vous vous réveillez, c'est un nouveau matin / Le soleil brille, c'est un nouveau matin / Tu vas à la maison.")
Le solo de saxophone est aussi l'objet d'une légende urbaine au Royaume-Uni, créé dans les années 1980 par l'écrivain britannique et diffuseur Stuart Maconie. Maconie a faussement prétendu que l'acteur et présentateur de télévision britannique Bob Holness avait joué le solo de saxophone sur l'enregistrement. Plus tard, la revendication a été largement répétée.

Robert Wentworth John Holness (12 November 1928 – 6 January 2012) was an English radio and television presenter.

Early life[link]
Holness was born in Vryheid, Natal, South Africa.[2] When he was seven,[3] his family moved to the UK, initially to Herne Bay, Kent where his grandfather Nathaniel was brought up, then later to Ashford, Kent. After attending Ashford Grammar School (now The Norton Knatchbull School) and Maidstone College of Art,[4] he then worked for a printing company before returning to South Africa. In 1955, he received his first job as a radio presenter. He also married Mary in 1955, whom he met in South Africa. In 1956 he played James Bond in a radio production of Moonraker.[2][3][5] The couple returned to the UK in 1961. His daughter, Ros, was a member of the band Toto Coelo.
Holness joined the BBC as a presenter on Late Night Extra, initially on the BBC Light Programme and later on BBC Radio 1 and 2, presenting alongside people like Terry Wogan, Michael Parkinson and Keith Fordyce. From 1971, the show was broadcast solely on Radio 2. Between 1975 and 1985, he was co-presenter with Douglas Cameron of the breakfast-time AM Programme on London's LBC radio station. He originally joined the station as an airborne traffic reporter. He won the Variety Club Award for 'Joint Independent Radio Personality of the Year' in both 1979-84.[citation needed]
Between 1985-97, he returned to Radio 2, presenting many shows including Bob Holness Requests the Pleasure and Bob Holness and Friends, as well as covering various weekday shows for holidaying presenters. Until 1998, he also presented the request programme Anything Goes on the BBC World Service.[2]

Holness was the subject of an urban myth,[6][7] claimed to have been initiated in the 1980s by broadcaster Stuart Maconie who, writing for the New Musical Express in a section called 'Believe It Or Not', said that Holness had played the saxophone solo on Gerry Rafferty's 1978 song "Baker Street".[8] Tommy Boyd, among others, has disputed Maconie's claim to authorship of the rumour.[9] The actual performer was Raphael Ravenscroft. The story clearly appealed to Holness' sense of humour as he often played along with the myth, and also at various times jokingly claimed to be the lead guitarist on Derek and the Dominoes' "Layla", and the mysterious individual putting Elvis Presley off his stride on the 'laughing' version of "Are You Lonesome Tonight?"
Television career[link]
In 1961, Holness became the host of UK game show Take a Letter, was relief host of Thames Television's magazine programme Today in 1968, and from 1983 until 1994 presented the British version of Blockbusters, for which he is best known. In 1995, he hosted Yorkshire Television's big-budget game show flop Raise the Roof before becoming the chairman of a revived Call My Bluff for the BBC. Holness appeared on one episode of Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway in 2004, when he presented the last round of Ant and Dec's Blockbusters, with Ant as a contestant.[citation needed]
Personal life, illness and death[link]
On 24 November 2002, Holness suffered a major stroke, following which a brain scan revealed he had previously suffered a number of transient ischaemic attacks over several years. He also suffered from hearing loss, and began to use a hearing aid in 2003.[10] He was diagnosed with coeliac disease in 2005.[11] In the last few years of his life he suffered from vascular dementia.[12]
His family announced on 6 January 2012 that he had died that day, in his sleep, aged 83.[5] He is survived by his wife Mary, as well as their three children, Carol, Ros and Jon, and seven grandchildren; Sam, Tom, Arthur, Theo, Rylan, Cassian and Lily.[5]

Edward William "Ed" Welch (born October 22, 1947) is an English television composer.
Career[link]
In 1971, he recorded an album, Clowns, including songs he had co-written with Tom Paxton, and session musicians including Mike de Albuquerque and Cozy Powell. In 1972, acted as producer on a version of “I Don't Know How to Love Him” by Sylvie McNeill (a.k.a. Sylvia McNeill) on a UK 45 on United Artists UA UP35415 released in time for the first UK Stage Musical of “Jesus Christ Superstar”.
In 1978 and 1979, he appeared in the Spike Milligan BBC series Q8 and Q9, performing his own songs (including The Carpet is Always Greener Under Someone Else's Bed and Love to Make Music by) and songs co-written with Milligan, including I've Got This Photograph of You! and Silly Old Baboon. This unlikely duo released an album in 1979 on the United Artists label, Spike Milligan and Ed Welch Sing Songs from Q8. Also in 1978, he composed the score for the remake of The Thirty Nine Steps, including an extended piano piece entitled The Thirty Nine Steps Concerto (a nod to Richard Addinsell's Warsaw Concerto). Welch recorded the piece with Christopher Headington as soloist.
In 1982, he composed the Television South West (TSW) idents music annd numerous local programmes, including Gus Honeybun in 1987. Welch also composed music for Television South (TVS), from 1987 until the channel disappeared on 31 December 1992.
Ed composed the theme to the popular ITV, BBC Two and Sky1 Blockbusters quiz show which ran from 1983 to 2001, and soon became one of the most recognisable television themes of the time.
Welch adapted fairy tales and wrote the scripts for the children's cartoon series, Wolves, Witches and Giants, which ran from 1995 to 1999. He is credited for the music in the 2001 cartoon series, Binka, and in 2004, he composed a piece of music for Liberal Democrat, Mike Treleaven. He writes the songs for the new format of Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends.
Welch is credited as a co-writer of the 1995 Icelandic entry to the Eurovision Song Contest (with Björgvin Halldórsson).

Robert Wentworth John Holness (12 November 1928 – 6 January 2012) was an English radio and television presenter.
Holness was born in Vryheid, Natal, South Africa. When he was seven, his family moved to the UK, initially to Herne Bay, Kent where his grandfather Nathaniel was brought up, then later to Ashford, Kent. After attending Ashford Grammar School (now The Norton Knatchbull School) and Maidstone College of Art, he then worked for a printing company before returning to South Africa. In 1955, he received his first job as a radio presenter. He also married Mary in 1955, whom he met in South Africa. In 1956 he played James Bond in a radio production of Moonraker. The couple returned to the UK in 1961. His daughter, Ros, was a member of the band Toto Coelo.
Holness joined the BBC as a presenter on Late Night Extra, initially on the BBC Light Programme and later on BBC Radio 1 and 2, presenting alongside people like Terry Wogan, Michael Parkinson and Keith Fordyce. From 1971, the show was broadcast solely on Radio 2. Between 1975 and 1985, he was co-presenter with Douglas Cameron of the breakfast-time AM Programme on London's LBC radio station. He originally joined the station as an airborne traffic reporter. He won the Variety Club Award for 'Joint Independent Radio Personality of the Year' in both 1979-84.[citation needed]
