Report cellulari video inchiesta choc 1/2
Come spesso accade le inchieste di Report fanno scalpore e fanno parlare di se. Non fa eccezione il documento mostrato nell'ultima puntata dedicata ai telefoni cellulari e al loro effetto nocivo per la salute. La trasmissione della conduttrice Milena Gabanelli sta facendo parlare di sè.
Un argomento che inevitabilmente ha attirato l'attenzione di milioni di persone, perchè milioni di persone sono quelle che in Italia fanno uso di cellulari, smartphone e quant'altro, oggetto ormai inseparabile di utilizzo quotidiano.Il servizio è stato realizzato dalla giornalista Sabrina Giannini e sembrano effettivamente inquietanti: sconfessano le notizie sempre emerse in base a recenti studi e dicono chiaro e tondo che i cellulari e la telefonia mobile in generale sono pericolosi, in quanto qualunque forma di vita esposta alle radiazioni rischia di aumentare le proprie possibilità di ammalarsi di cancro.
Una delle discussioni più accese riguardo la pericolosità dei telefoni cellulari riguarda il fatto che gran parte delle ricerche ufficiali per capire se la telefonia mobile è dannosa sono finanziate proprio dalle industrie che costruiscono questi supporti.
Cosa che inevitabilmente ha sempre portato i malpensanti a pensare che si potesse trattare in qualche modo di ricerche 'aggiustate' per non creare il panico nella popolazione. A suffragio di ciò, il fatto che molte ricerche indipendenti pare abbiano sempre portato a risultati diametralmente opposti.
Secondo Henry Lai dell'Università di Seattle, con studi condotti nel lontano 1993: "I ratti esposti per 2 ore alle onde del cellulare presentavano il DNA interrotto. Un effetto biologico che può essere all'origine del cancro".
Report sostiene che Lai non ha più avuto fondi per continuare le sue ricerche e che "il direttore della strategia globale della Motorola, Norman Sandler, in una comunicazione inviata ai dirigenti, suggeriva i modi per sminuire i risultati di quella ricerca e concludeva: "Credo che sia la strategia di guerra giusta per la questione Lai".Non solo. Secondo il professor Anders Ahlbom del Karoliska di Stoccolma e di Lennart Hardell, oncologo dell'Università di Orebro:
"Le persone che usano il cellulare da un decennio, anche per un'ora al giorno, hanno il doppio di possibilità di sviluppare un tumore. Ma se si restringe il campo e si associa il tumore alla parte del cervello dove si tiene il telefono, il rischio aumenta di cinque volte".

Steve and I just completed another underground expedition with Norwegian explorer Erling Kagge (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erling_Kagge). It was featured in a three page article on the front page of the NY Times metro section and was written by Alan Feuer (http://www.nytimes.com/2011/01/02/nyregion/02underground.html). We were also covered by NPR's Jacki Lyden whose report will be aired on 1/2/11 and posted on NPR's site (http://www.npr.org/2011/01/02/132482428/into-the-tunnels-exploring-the-underside-of-nyc).
Shot on a canon 5d mkii with canon 24 f/1.4 (version 1) with the zacuto rapid fire, Zoom H4N and a sennheiser g2 wireless lav. The zacuto was really great at being there when I needed it but also staying out of the way.

Reading a newspaper, I saw a picture of birds on the electric wires. I cut out the photo and decided to make a song, using the exact location of the birds as notes (no Photoshop edit). I knew it wasn't the most original idea in the universe. I was just curious to hear what melody the birds were creating.
I sent the music to the photographer, Paulo Pinto, who I Googled on the internet. He told his editor, who told a reporter and the story ended up as an interview in the very same newspaper.
Here I've posted a short video made with the photo, the music and the score (composed by the birds).
