The Performing Songwriter, Episode 36, Guest: Sonny Ochs
Phil Ochs was a songwriter and performer in the 60's and as well as in the early 70's. He died by suicide in 1976, at the age of 36. Sonny Ochs, his sister, has probably done more to keep alive the songs of her brother, Phil, than anyone else. In this interview, Sonny talks about Phil's life, his contribution of many causes, his songs, and his legacy. The show also shows a number of videos of Phil singing, as well as others who continue to perform his songs. Due to the length of the interview, this is Part 1 of a 2 part program.
